There is expected to be a storyline in upcoming WWE programming announcing a new "owner" of RAW. While storyline wise, Vince McMahon will remain 100% owner, there is expected to be a set-up in which someone is a president, vice president, etc. While they may not use those titles for represenation exactly, that is the current plan. This leads many to believe Eric Bischoff will be coming in, which rumors last week insisted, however the odds of that happening aren't really good. That doesn't necessarily mean he won't as Vince McMahon has said in the past Eric Bischoff would be a good for for him, as well as Jim Ross actually meeting with Eric Bischoff about coming into WWE last year.

I hope he does come in.  I always liked how he pulled off the whiny corporate prick character (he could be like that in real life too of course) and its easy as hell to hate him.

I always liked Bischoff. He pulls off the "evil" asshole guy in charge character alot better then Vince ever has.

IF Vince and Eric can work with each other without their egos getting in the way this would be a good thing for WWeee.

I also like Bischoff... I thought he was cool in WCW.  Especially, when he would do his "karate" shit.  Very entertaining.

I also agree... he played "I'm an asshole ultra-cool heel" very well.

I agree.

As long as they don't break the bank getting him. Commisioners and CEO characters don't draw money. Period.

The thing with Bischoff, which I'm surprised no one else has mentioned before, is that will most marks know who the hell he is?

If WWF marks didn't recognise Booker T, are they really gonna know who Bischoff is?

They recognised Flair, cos Flair is Flair.

But Bischoff, that guys been off telly for 2 years, and was at his peak notoriety over 4 years ago.

If Bischoff turns up and is running RAW, the average fan brought up on Rocky, SCSA and Taker will be wondering who the guy is.

But it's also easier to get the average fan to swallow whatever they are fed. So while they wouldn't know him it wouldn't be that hard to get them to react to him. Besides he'd get them all to literally hate him easily. So as long as they handle it well(which is a lot to ask of WWeee lately) it wouldn't matter if the average fan knows him from WCW.

I don't think Vince could do it.

I mean, look at the Alliance.  Vince would have Eric around maybe a week, then he'd snap and force Bischoff to go out and job for Howard Finkel or something.

Vince can't stand ANYTHING that he didn't create getting or going over.

Vince sucks at creating stuff.  Just look at Stephanie.  Heh.

Tee-hee.  That was too brilliant not to post on.

I like Eric Bischoff as a mouth piece, however the WWE already has too many of them. Eric in the ring is not quality television, however I do agree that he plays the cocky owner heel well.

I wouldn't mind seeing Eric come in, but not just because the WWE thinks that he may trigger some fan interest or spike the ratings, but I want him to come in and have some kind of control. I don't want him to be involved with the nWo, however ideally, he would be a good person to bring in to continue the split.

My two cents.

The thing is...I'm sick to death of all the owners/commisioners/presidents in wrestling...I miss the old days when no one interfered in the match making, aside from Jack Tunney making an announcement or decision from time to time.

It's time for the WWE to get back to wrestler vs wrestler feuds, instead of the tired owner vs wrestler feuds.

Well.... Russo is back, so the prospect of Bischoff coming back looks better and better...

Let's chalk this up to absence making the heart grow fonder. Bischoff was terrible, but anytime anybody is not seen for a while, people forget how inept they were.

God knows there were enough Lawler loyalists around last year.

We all know that what the WWE really needs right now is "NWO Late Night".

Russo and Bischoff hated working together. Why would this help Eric's chances in any way.

And what does anyone care about Bischoff these days anyway? Wrestling fans are trained to forget, forget, forget, and in wrestling terms two years might as well be two thousand, because I doubt anyone even remembers who the guy is. And he was horrible as an on-screen addition. I guess he was better than Stephanie, though.

Not true in this case. If that was why then i'd also claim that Stephanie, Shane and Linda were good and that i like them. And i'd also miss Vince when he leaves which i don't.

Bischoff's job was to be hated and come off as a prick and he was a natural at doing it. Unlike Vince who doesn't ever look natural talking and he is always forcing it. Now both guys are probably pricks in real life, but Bischoff portrayed it better on screen.

So chalk it up to letting stuff he was responsible for "backstage" clouding your mind about his on screen role.

I think marks could recognize Bischoff. To be honest, back in my mark days I recognized Bischoff more as That NWO Mouthpiece Guy than I did anyone affiliated with Turner or WCW Corporate.

However, one thing I remembered is a few (or was it just one? this was a long time ago) where Bisch would sit and call out "McMahon" on a PayPerView. I kept wondering who this McMahon guy was. Whoever he was, he'd never show.

Then when I saw Royal Rumble 99 and all night long the announce team was talking about Vince McMahon in the Royal Rumble. I thought, "is this THE McMahon!?"

So, I guess I knew about Bisch before I knew about Vince, although I never had any clue exactly WHAT he did until later.

Well, he talents as a heel obviously weren't nearly as good as he thought they were, considering he gave himself a twenty minute talk show on Nitro for an extended period of time and incidently killed tons of ratings.

Besides, like I said before, wrestling fans forget faster than any other fans in the world, so if you stick Eric Bischoff out there and say "look, check it out! remember this guy?" everyone's going to let a giant "who?" and it'll flop. The nWo, a name that eventually became bigger than any of the men involved with it, got a mild reaction when Vince first said the words on TV, so Eric's chances of making waves are near nothing. They don't need another "owner" personality on TV, either, so an on-screen role is out.

That leaves his off-screen talents, and while some ideas he had before may have been originial, these days he's nothing more than a has-been who books week-to-week and can't even make new stars any better than the current writers can.

Heh heh, right on.

The only thing I could see the WWE wanting Bischoff for is to have a Vince McMahon vs. Bischoff match, in which McMahon does a total squash, nosells what little offense poor Eric has to offer, and totally humiliates him.

Then Bischoff is forced to job to every McMahon, including Stephanie and Linda, before taking a permanent position doing Triple H's laundry.
