From the Observer... (Possible King of the Ring spoiler)

Although nothing has been confirmed, there have been many reports claiming that Vince McMahon will cost "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan his match with Kurt Angle. The main question backstage surrounding this run-in by McMahon is if Hogan will get Angle over or atleast try to.

It appears that the WWE creative team is still throwing out ideas regarding the finish to this match. However, whatever the case may be tomorrow night, WWE will continue to push Angle as their top superstar. Speaking of Angle, there have been a lot of backstage talks of Angle turning babyface in the future. However, WWE officials don't see that happening unless he has a strong non-comedic and succesful heel run first so the fans have more respect for him.

So they are going through (hopefully) with Angle being the top star. Not Triple H, not Hogan, not Rock... Angle. There is a God. I just hope they don't screw it up or give up on him or some stupid shit like that. Thoughts??

Could this lead to the Hogan/Vince match where Hogan retires. He's still a money maker with this nostalgia run, so they probably want to milk it for all it's worth, but maybe Hogan knows it's finally time.

I definitely agree that Kurt Angle needs to become a non-comedic heel and really needs to be pushed as the "Ultra" heel who wins at all costs (and actually wins), like Triple H in 2000. If they give Angle that dominant heel run, he'll start to be respected more instead of looked upon as a dork. Then, after like months of buildup, since they seem to be pushing Brock Lesnar as a rising heel, have Lesnar start interfering in Angle's affairs for no reason, and turn Angle into a face. It'll work. I hope Kurt Angle does become the WWE's next big huge superstar. It's a matter of when now......

Yeah, I didn't like Angle as a face that much either. I don't think he'll be pushed as monster heel either since Triple H is being pushed as "unstoppable face". That would mean two guys on smackdown that kick everyone's ass. One is enough. Which one do you think WWE will pick: HHH or Angle?

Angle: Stuck in the comedy role 4 evaaaaaaa!

With The Rock filming movies in Hollywood and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin quitting WWE this past week, the WWE creative team will now heavily focus on making Kurt Angle their top superstar.

Backstage, WWE officials have held many meetings regarding Angle's quest for the World Championship title again. If WWE decides to go through with this storyline, expect Angle to face both heels and faces like a "old-school" champion.

However, many of WWE's management are concerned with what kind of match Angle and "Hollywood" Hogan will put on at King of the Ring. Questions backstage surround Hogan's ability to keep up with Angle in the ring. Many believe that Angle's match with Hogan will test his ability to carry WWE to a higher level. However, others claim that this will be the ultimate test for Hogan to be a overall team player for the company.

IT DOESN'T MATTER. If Angle doesn't go over clean, then its USELESS. It gives the impression that the little pussy coward dork Kurt Angle can't beat a 75 year old cripple without the help of Jesus Christ in an Armani suit. They will NEVER push Angle as a serious and credible character. NEVER. They've proven that time and time again. Angle's career is dead. Sad, but true.

I agree... although I can see how an unclean finish would still help Angle, but ONLY if Angle basically spends the entire match dominating and destroying Hogan, which isn't so far fetched because Hogan sold pretty well for Jericho. We'll see

wasn't there talk though, of him taking time off soon to train for the olympics or was that all crap?

Yeah and it's still a good possibility that he will, but I read that if he chose to do so it wouldn't be until winter. Either way, that was before Austin left, so you never know if the WWE might throw out some extra cash or some promises to try and keep him even though they've given him the greenlight to train if he wanted to

It's pretty funny that they're going to "continue" pushing Angle as their top star. Where have I been for the past couple of months? It would really be great if they could, but they'll forget about Angles push 2 weeks after KOTR. I'm not sure about face Angle, as I've always loved him in the heel role. Please lord, let them push Kurt and let him bury HHH.

Angle can't be a face, yet he doesn't really have the presence of a monster heel. They should make him the top heel, kinda like how Dibiase was in a sence.

Speaking of Angle's gold medal hopes, I just thought of something. If Angle were to take off, train, and win the gold, would he come back to a face reception, or chants of "You Suck!"? It really shows how over he is as a heel if the latter were to happen.

I certainly hope that's true. I don't think Angle will be hurt much by his match with Hogan, considering how much the fans love the guy. You should remember that they are still cheering heavily for him. And before it's mentioned, even if Hogan is hurting ratings, he's doing that by driving people away. Those who stay, like him.

I like that idea of pushing Angle as an "old school champion".

We'll just see if they actually go through with this...

Continue? When the hell did they start? Was that the time that Edge mad a fool of him in the cage or when Holly beat the ever loving shit out of him?

ah, it's so true.

But it's great news if Angle has been getting the superstar push the last couple months, cuz that means my European title reign is in full swing.

The saddest thing is THAT is considered the Superstar push. ::sigh::

Oh, really? Did that same Jesus come down in his suit and tell you this?

No offence, but that statement was pretty goddamn ignorent and one sided.

Never done WHAT? Push Angle? If you're saying that then you need to go to the head doctors. They pushed Angle harder than anyone i've seen - and now they're paying for it. A slow build is always better...

I do agree that Angle was pushed leading up to his intial title win over Rocky at No Mercy. But ever since them, IF they've pushed him at all, it's almost been forgotten.

Angle has always otherwise been booked in comedy angles and getting other over. The dangerous dork was funny...But I miss the Angle from Feb of 2001, before and a little after Rocky took the belt from him at No Way Out. He was vicious, trying to break everyone's ankles and had a real mean streak.

Of course that was mostly forgotten.

So, that Ankle (sp?) breaking maniac idea wasnt a push. Damn, dilusional me.

So what if he didnt do it for a long time, maybe it wasnt bringing any numbers or, *gasp*, maybe Kurt didnt like it?

EDIT: Who the fuck has a pic on a private server?

Do you think he LOVES the pay check? I think he does.

Kurt, much like RVD, stays over - so dont worry about it. Just because he isnt being pushed like a God doesnt mean he isnt valuable. Who knows, maybe he's next up to the plate. God, you Angle marks and HHHaters need to slow down - Just because your #1 guy isnt champ doesnt mean he's being held down.

CHRIST ON A FUCKING CRACKER.

Can you people be any more stereotypical?

Every time you people decide to troll someone's post, it's always "all you Angle marks" or "all you HHHaters" like we're all a bunch of fucking zombies of each other and agree on everything. Here's another example.

I feel sorry for anybody who thinks being in the HHHate club is a 'cool thing to do' LOL. These guys are the reason this forum is basically a laughing stock.

BULLSHIT. Just because one or two people want to overreact, doesn't mean you should jump to conclusions and say that we're ALL like that. That's why DangerousA is one of my favorite posters...because he takes time to look into things, whereas immature trolling fuckwads like you just stereotype and judge anyone who has a HHHater pic in their sig.

WE'RE NOT ALL THE SAME. WE HAVE DISAGREEMENTS ON THINGS, WHETHER YOU WANT TO BELIEVE IT OR NOT.

For example:

Anglesault is on Shawn's side in the Montreal situation. I am on Bret's side. We have several disagreements about Edge, although I've never brought it up with him. I'm quite positive I've disagreed with bps on subjects.

And for your information, my HHHate does not come just because it is the "cool thing to do". I hated him when he was the blueblood, I hated him in DX, I hated him in 2000, and I hate him now. And I will likely hate him forever. If you can say that, then I can say that a lot of you hate Anglesault because it's "the cool thing to do." But I don't. Because I'm not a judgmental dick like you.

And it may be a coincidence, it may not be. But most of these people SEEM to be HHH marks. Be HHH marks. I'm not going to sit here and tell you people who to like. Just don't be a fucking jerk about and shove it in our faces with posts like this:

Plus, as the Official HHH Mark of the Smartmarks Forums, I have to tune in so I can laugh and point at the Angle marks in the KOTR thread after Triple H wins the title, that's more fun than watching the show.

Because if you say stupid shit like that, you will likely be dismissed as a troll and an idiot, and your posts and opinions will likely not be given the respect that they deserve.

Now either go back under your bridges, or quit being so Goddamned judgmental.

Dismissed.
