When Will A New World Champ Be Crowned On Free Tv?

Okay, I remember when the WWF's World Title was tossed around more than 10 cruisers in an opening match for a WCW pay-per-view, and I don't remember it fondly. But goddammit, when's the last time there was a new Undisputed Champion crowned on regular television? It's been such a foregone conclusion lately that when an Undisputed Title match is booked for a PPV, it will stay as the exact same match. There just doesn't seem to be the same suspense there once was in this regard. It pisses me off that I have to pay 20 bucks just to see it happen. And when it almost did happen in the RVD/Taker match, they took it back within two minutes! Lately I really wonder if the WWE is just trying to piss off all the marks, what with Brockberg winning and all the other assorted hooplah. ARGH. My head go explody now.

Steve Austin defeated Kurt Angle in October 2001 to win back the WWF Championship. The last Free TV WWF Title change before that was in January 2000 when HHH defeated the Big Show.

But see, you can also put in a couple of WCW World Title turns, as in Rocky beating Jericho for the title in November 2001, and if I remember, Angle beating Booker T for the title a couple weeks prior...

I have a feeling we may see Rock beat Taker on RAW tonight.

 

If not, then "Vengeance" will be Taker Vs Rock Vs Triple H.

Yeah they usually throw us one free title change per year but the title changes more than enough at the moment in my book although someone needs to get it off Taker pretty sharpish (starts wondering how many minus stars he'd give to Taker/Brock)
