Hhh Caught Himself In A Lie

WWE.com: You’ve worked with Vince Russo in the past, and now he’s back in some capacity. What’s your take on that?

Triple H: You know, I’ve worked with Vince Russo in the past. He’s a good idea guy. I guess it’s a team effort, and if he’s willing to contribute to the team, that’s great. I look forward to having his ideas and his thoughts and all those things. I don’t know the details. I try to stay out of that stuff as far as he was in, he was out, he wasn’t in; I don’t know what the hell is going on with it. But the way I look at it is, as long as everybody’s heads are going in the same direction, we’re all just trying to make the best product possible. So if he wants to contribute to that, that’s great. He’s had good ideas and he’s a smart guy and if he wants to contribute to that, tremendous. If he’s looking for it to just be about him or something like that, and that was a problem – he didn’t want to be part of a team or something like that – then that won’t work out because that’s what we are. It’s not a one-man show, it’s everybody’s show and we all work to make it right. I guess it’s up to him on what he wants to contribute.

First he says he trys to keep out of that stuff and he says he doesn't know anything about it and then later on he says Russo didn't want to be part of a booking team and he wanted to book by himself. I am fairly certain that HHH and Stephanie are the ones who got Russo demoted.

He prefaced all that stuff about Russo with an 'if'. Read into it if you like, but I wouldn't say he was caught in a lie.

He qualifies everything so much, God, that it reads like a political speech. Sounds like he expects Russo - if he's on board - to be under the thumb of people who've plainly failed the past year. (I exclude Heyman from the mix).

After reading the Taker interview, it's plain that he wasn't thrilled with Russo coming back either. Either one of these veterans could have bitched privately to VKM. Understandably (but maddeningly), they like the status quo, and don't want it shaken up.

Oh the IRONY of HHH saying this about another person.

You think Triple H will replace Hogan as the smartest backstage politician to ever grace the backstage area??

Depends on how his relationship with Steph goes. Hogan had the built-in advantages of being permanently and forever over (or so he made everyone think) and in a workplace where everyone in charge treated him like a god and savior. Take Steph out of the mix, and what does HHH have? A broken-down body, rapidly deteriorating workrate and diminished pops. Vince'd drop him without a second thought.

Vince would drop his own family if it meant he'd make more money.

I always thought that HBK was the greatest backstage politicion I mean finding ways to not drop the title by claiming he will quit.

You know what? I'm pretty much tired of hearing all this stuff about "HBK, HHH..blah..blah..politics..blah..not wanting to job.."

Nobody is perfect.

The only one that seems above the politics is Rocky. Hell, even Austin found somewhere to go instead of putting people over. Home. So what? HBK found ways out of it. I'm sure HHH has. Hogan, Austin, almost everybody.

The Kliq aren't the only "forces of darkness" in wrestling..as much as that thought may cause some people's heads to explode.

Speaking of politics, even Nixon didn't have his every word so meticulously analyzed as this.

Jesus.

No....no, they are not.

It just appears that they may be the worst in the modern era.

If just a quarter of the bad shit we've all heard about them is true, than that's enough for me to hate them.

you know, all this we here about politics backstage has never been confirmed (well to an extent by HBK never by HHH). as obvious as it seems and as much sense as it makes for him to be a politician, marks do like the guy (some cheered him over hogan at the smack i went to).
