McMahon's plan to revert back to WWF initials

According to Dave Meltzer, had WWE won it's

legal tussle with the World Wildlife Fund last Monday,

Vince McMahon had plans to revert back to the WWF

initials.

A High Court judge in London ruled last year that

the environmental pressure group was entitled to a

court order banning the US wrestling promoter from

breaching an agreement reached between the two

organizations in January 1994.

The environmentalists said the use of the

initials WWF by the wrestling group could confuse

environmentally concerned Internet surfers who might

find themselves presented with viewing images of

grapplers instead of pandas.

Um, that was in case they had won the appeal, which they didn't. The F is out and has left town.

How does this help Vince use WWF as the name for his company again?

It doesn't. The news item was misread by Crandamaniac and SuperUnknown.

THAT's what this whole thing is about?

Why couldn't they have just changed their site name to "www.worldwrestlingfederation.com"?

In america ive seen 20 years of wwf, yet never a mention of the wwf pandas? I find that very strange taht all this legal shit is going on over seas.

I just have to ask, why cant they let him use it alteast in america, where they've spent BILLIONS to hype the name wwf, yet the panda people, I NEVER HEARD OF UNTILL THE LAWUIT!

I read that the WWE lost this final appeal and the case was closed that the WWF initials belonged to the WWPandas with no further course of action available to the WWE. Don't ask me, all this high court bullshit just gives me a headache.

I've found the most ridiculous thing about this whole case is that the WWPandas don't even use WWF anymore since they changed their name to The World Fund for Nature or something like that.

The World Wildlife Fund has been around for a very long time and does have an international reputation.

My understanding is that the WWF and what is now called the WWE actually had a deal in place. The deal was that the WWE could use the initials "WWF" in North America, but they couldn't market them in Europe. They did anyway, so they violated an existing agreement. Hence the suit.

If true, don't blame the pandas, blame Vince.

I'm surprised Vince hasn't made a heel stable of guys dressed as endangered species yet to mock the WWF. Ya know, like he did with the RTC.

Then, the now WWF could then tune Vince's ass up in the courtrooms I believe......

are we going to get an RTC type angle involving panda bears now?

Not only does Flair carry the panda to a ***1/2 match, but he does a .6 Muta after he is hit in the head with a stick of bamboo. ;)

Now if Flair can carry a panda to a **** match, then he should just retire, as he can do no more. When I think of WWF, I think of pandas....yeah baby.
