Frankly, outside of the baptism montage, there's not that much truly great about the Godfather. One shouldn't confuse the seriousness with which this movie takes itself for quality. I'll concede that the characters in the Godfather have more depth than those in Pulp Fiction, but all in all, Pulp Fiction is the better movie. I'd even go so far as to say the acting, The Godfather's other strength, is a push between the two.

Hmm...I think that the Godfather is the better movie from a more classical standpoint, but I really dig the Pacino parts in II to anything in I. Pulp Fiction is actually a "fun" movie and one I pop into my vcr just to watch someting way before I would embark on the Godfather. So, since this tourney has turned into favorite movies and not best, I'll vote for Pulp Fiction

Yes, Pulp Fiction is probably my more preferable movie. I can watch it whenever, it will always solidly entertain and is a legitimately good movie. The Godfather, as you all said, is a movie one needs to be in the mood for.

 

But I'm going for The Godfather, because:

 

a) It is the better made movie

b) It is going to lose anyway.
