Matches that shouldn't have been on free tv
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! replied to Boxer's topic in General Wrestling
WCW did this shit all the time just to pad the ratings. Hogan vs. Luger from the second Nitro. The first Hogan vs. Sting match from 1995. Hogan vs. Luger a week before they were supposed to main event Road Wild. Hogan vs. Goldberg from 1998. The first Nash vs. Hogan "match" that ended with a fingerpoke... actually that shouldn't have happened at all, period... -
I heard that the 3D effects were really shitty, but I still would have like to have seen this. I am sure that there are a good number of prints out there that are just collecting dust.

Wow, in the spirit of our discussion I popped in Freddy's Revenge and... gay... bad... just very gay and bad... But I would suppose that having my own personal copy of said movie is pretty gay in and of itself (even if it is a DVD rip).

WWE General Discussion - January 2008

Sweet Christ! They must be paying top dollar to get placement on WWE.com. -
It's hit or miss. I once got a 40-disc order in a matter of three days, and then I placed an order later that month and it took nearly four weeks, although that was more of an organizational mistake on their part. IVP is my hookup for AJW and AJPW Classics. They also have a ton of British wrestling that I want to get my hands on after reading Bret Hart's book.

Ugh, Judy Bagwell... Somebody in creative should have lost their job for that one... Also, Dean Malenko, after having decisively won his feud with Chris Jericho, relinquishing the Cruiserweight Championship "so he could get another match" with Jericho was fucking stupid.
-
Well, Stephanie is next in line, and we all know how much of an amazing mind she has for the business.

WWE General Discussion - January 2008

Agreed. He can still say "He's never been pinned or submitted" at Wrestlemania as well. I like the term "never been defeated" myself. -
Chyna won the IC title at SummerSlam 2000 when she pinned Trish for the win in a tag team match with Eddie Guerrero against Trish and Val Venis with the IC title on the line. Val was champ. Okay, I remember now. That also fits in with the whole "Singles title being defended in a tag team match" scenario that only luke-o and Russo enjoy.

So, I stream KLSX everyday for the sole purpose of listening to the Adam Carolla. In between segments I'm force-fed clips of the Tom Leykis show- clips that are supposed to sell me (a 26 year old male, their target demographic) on his program. The clips they play are rather... unfunny. Between the uninspired misogyny and low functioning callers, I cannot find a single reason to tune in... am I just missing something? Is the show that much more entertaining than they make it out to be? Why would 97.1 do that?

I really don't acknowledge anything that follows the original eight. If memory serves, Part 2 is the one that shows bush... I like that one... Friday the 13th Part 2 Friday the 13th Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter Friday the 13th Part 3: In 3-D Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives Friday the 13th Part VII The New Blood Friday the 13th Part VIII Jason Takes Manhattan Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning
-
Huh?
-
See, that's the kind of stuff that KLSX needs to tout if they really want to increase their numbers.
-
In the midst of watching Starrcade 96: Malenko vs. Dragon, Madusa vs. Hokuto, Liger vs. Misterio, Benoit vs. Jarrett, Eddy Guerrero vs. DDP... This was a pretty good show... I am enjoying these too much to take the time to comment any more than I already have...
-
Probably.
-
Couldn't tell you the last time a week went by without this in my player.
-
Definitely the "Fingerpoke of Doom". That was one of the worst ideas in the history of pro wrestling. Also, anytime in WCW or TNA when Russo booked somebody to defend/win the World Championship in a tag team match.

Thread where we listen to N.E.R.D's In Search Of...

N.E.R.D. is hip hop? -
I remember that now, except it was an angle, and not a match, with JBL coming out and cutting a promo on HBK and Michaels superkicking him. JBL didn't even put his ring gear on. It wouldn't surprise me if that match happened sometime back in 1996 when he was Justin 'Hawk' Bradshaw.

Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! replied to geniusMoment's topic in General Wrestling
One minor complaint is that the book is full of minor factual inaccuracies (i.e. mentioning how Chyna was serving as Hunter's bodyguard two years before it was so), but given the fact that he is twice my age, has been through more than I ever will and (most importantly) was battling back from a stroke while he was piecing the book together, I can look past those things. Tremendous read. I also agree that it co-holds the spot for best pro wrestling autobiography, alongside Have A Nice Day. -
I really liked the faction. And yes, Unkle Kracker is just... if there ever was a black hole for musicianship and originality, it would be him... he could stand fifteen feet from any artist while they are trying to perform and automatically suck their ability to perform good music out of them... that's the best way that I can articulate my feelings on that guy... But X-Factor... I was a fan...

I like this idea, and think that these two would have a great match. Have these two ever fought one another?
