No love for the Three Faces of Foley?

PWI is reporting that referee Mickey Henson (also known as Mickey Jay), who was on medical leave and Matt Cappotelli, who successfully had a brain tumor removed back in 2007, have both been released. Boy, the latter really fucking makes me hope that Holly gets released next.

I still want to see a Sting vs. Shelton Benjamin match.

Well, it would seem as though the time has come for Hunter to take the Rumble iron man record for himself. -
I would say that ECW does not accomplish more than RAW or SmackDown, but is alot less frustrating than RAW/SD! can be, sometimes.

WWE General Discussion - January 2009
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Strong food for thought, Tino. My head hurts trying to imagine WCW screwing up the biggest match in the history of the company's existence, more than they already did, and I draw a blank. The fact is that WCW got their way so many times in 1997 that they never imaged things taking a turn for the worse. Once Bret Hart showed up they thought they could have their cake and eat it too, which meant they could do no wrong. Not a single suggestion was bad, so long as they kept things linear; so long as they did not fix what was not yet broken. Then came an idea that was bad on paper and stunk to fucking hell in execution, and was truly the first step, out of many, in the absolute wrong direction. And they managed to make things exponentially worse within 24 hours. How many other million-dollar-plus entities fuck themselves over in such short order? But, yeah, it couldn't have been worse. I just can't fathom it. -

Let's wait to see how the wins/losses are presented, shall we. -

Is Edge channeling Terry Funk? -
I hope you're right, but I'm already disappointed that they pissed away his initial shot to get over such an unexciting angle. Shit, for what will come out of it, they might as well have given him a clean competitive loss.

How do you fuck on an uncovered mattress without getting some degree of rugburn? Safety first, Parker.

I got a copy from Netflix, which I ripped, but I made a pact with at least one good friend a half a decade ago (no exaggeration whatsover) that we would see it together, so I am going to sit on it until the next time I go back home.

Attitude Era Timeline in your opinion?
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! replied to Promoter's topic in The WWE Folder
Unless the "Attitude campaign" predates the Survivor Series, which I don't remember it doing or not, then it's from the Montreal Screwjob to Austin shaking hands with McMahon at X-Seven. -
WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Been watching some stuff from 1999, and, boy, sometimes WCW didn't know when to not swerve the people. I'm certain that the Bagwell injury from 1998 and the subsequent angle where he got the best of Rick Steiner has been discussed, so I won't get too deep into how badly the screwed the pooch on that one. Buff should have become an instant babyface the moment that he was cleared to come back, but they deep-sixed a sure thing in swerving the audience and having him run back into the nWo's arms. Stupid stupid stupid stupid. Now, onto another instance that is most likely forgotten. During the decently-conceived but ill-fated nWo Black and Silver angle, Scott Steiner came out and sincerely announced his retirement as a result of complications related to a (back?) injury. This was actually one of the few times in Steiner's late WCW career where he could have come off as a big time babyface. Like, profitable babyface. Then, Bret Hart bum-rushed the ringside area and gave Steiner a hard time for going soft and retiring, when he had all the tools to join the refurbished, elite nWo squadron that he was heading. This was a good opportunity to swerve everybody, but in the right way. Instead we were treated to a predictable, dead-end swerve, with Steiner aligning with the New World Order. Perhaps this was all after the company had passed the point of no return, but still, this was just another big step in the wrong direction, regardless of how much better Steiner was as a heel. -
F4W/Observer announced that there was an angle taped at SD! with Victoria announcing her retirement. I wouldn't be shocked if it were in her future plans. PWI was persistent in their report that she was discussing it, even after she had denied ever considering doing so.

I was going to ask if the other shoe was ready to drop. Those meds could do more harm than good. Hope they do all good. Getting out of the Midwest was definitely a good start. -
This season's round of cuts are depressing.

Leftover pizza is the best comfort food ever. Always makes for a good morning, and is a godsend after an evening of heavy drank.

I've already dropped it, but you don't make a very good case, given that there was no World Championship shot stipulation in that match.

The "World Title" status of the ECW Championship was informally withdrawn when Chavo Guerrero appeared in the Royal Rumble last year. Seriously, are we going to have this argument again? I apologize for for discussing, not arguing, shit on a message board that was obviously designed for anything but discussion... It's not that, it's just we have this same "discussion" if you will every two to three months that get us no where. Must be difficult to ignore.

I always though that the extra Z was to avoid a lawsuit form Warner Bros.
