I consider Michaels/Angle from WrestleMania 21 to be deserving of a five-star rating. But no, **** 3/4 is all it gets. Fuck you, Dave.

For my next selection: Audrey Hepburn I'm surprised she didn't go sooner, given her reputation as one of the most popular actresses of all time.

Help Me Expand My Wrestling Repertoire

Honestly, I would recommend getting your hands on every WrestleMania. Even the ones that are not that great are fun to watch. The event serves as a "state of the union" type deal as far as what was going down in the WWF at that time, what the atmosphere was like, etc. Well worth it. Watts era WCW (mid 1992-early 1993) is really good too. I am also on the Foley bandwagon: Two excellent Michaels/Mankind matches- one from Mind Games and the other from RAW is WAR on 08/11/97, I believe. Foley and The Undertaker had a beautiful, but forgotten, match at IYH: Revenge of the Taker from April 1997. RAW is WAR from MSG in September 97 was just awesome. HHH/Cactus was tremendous. Lots of good TV on this show as well. A match that I have touted before was the HBK/Diesel vs. Razor/Kid tag team title match from the Action Zone in November 94 (forget the exact date). Well worth tracking down. Some of the Starrcade shows from the 90's are pretty good. Starrcade 92 is Watts at his finest. A good Simmons/Dr. Death match, Vader vs. Sting King of Cable finals and Battlebowl as well. Windham/Pillman vs. Steamboat/Douglas is good too. Starrcade 93 features the last great main event in the history of the show, as Ric Flair puts his career on the line in a match (in Charlotte, NC) against Vader for the WCW World Championship. Love this match. Starrcade 95 is the World Cup of Wrestling, with WCW vs. New Japan Pro Wrestling. Every bit as awesome as it sounds, with Eddy Guerrero vs. Shinjiro Ohtani, Alex Wright vs. Koji Kanemoto, Chris Benoit vs. Jushin Liger and other great matchups. Starrcade 96 features a not-so-great main event, but the undercard more than makes up for it. Lots of work from the Cruiserweight Divison with a little help from some imported talent. Spring Stampede 94 is also an excellent show. Flair/Steamboat revive their old rivalry and The Nasty Boys against Cactus Jack and Maxx Payne streetfight is just brutal. Also, get Slamboree 94. The tag team street fight from this event is even better. And Terry Funk/Tully Blanchard is loads more fun that you would think.

    All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

I am pleased with the reception thus far. I don't care much for the deadline itself, either way, but I totally want to push the discussion of each and every individual roster, as much as we can. That's really what we have all been working towards. I take issue with somebody putting time into assembling a chain of stories leading up to a pair of supercards, for instance, and nobody responding and giving feedback. I don't want that. Everybody should give their opinion and what they would get out of it. I still wonder how everybody will present their product. Myself- I intend on introducing each match with the result, followed by a synopsis, with the historical significance scattered throughout. Let's keep this fun!

    All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

We discussed the idea of a Columbus Day deadline, which would fall on October 13th, but I was thinking a wee bit sooner. I really want to give everybody a chance to put this stuff together, though. I am thinking that we would start on Oct. 1st, with OOG going first, Drury second, etc. I would space each presentation out by 36 or 48 hours, or so. That way, they can present their roster and we can discuss, because I would really like a lot of discussion for each individual roster. I am definitely open to pushing the deadline closer, but that depends on how the people at the front of the draft (AKA those who have to present first) feel. P.S. I promise that I will piece together the finalized rosters when I get an opportunity to truly sit down and apply the kind of contiguous focus that it requires.

    The Greatness of Muhammed Hassan

In all honesty, I remember nothing about Mark Copani's workrate. How many matches did he actually have? When the company aired the first vignettes, I knew that the WWE would take the most shallow and disgraceful path that they could with the character, which they succeeded in doing.

    WWF Survivor Series 1992

I also have very fond memories of this show, in spite of the fact that I always prefer a card with multiple elimination matches. I love the Perfect/Savage vs. Flair/Ramon tag team match, and this featured the second great main event with Bret Hart that year. Just for the sake of fun, if you were to book this to feature a minimum of three elimination matches, how would you do it? I might do it this way: Elimination Match Tatanka, Marty Jannetty and High Energy "The Model" Rick Martel, Repo Man and The Beverly Bros. Nightstick Match Big Bossman vs. Nailz Elimination Match Randy Savage, Mr. Perfect & The Nasty Boys vs. Ric Flair, Razor Ramon & Money Inc. Elimination Match Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Virgil and The Natural Disasters vs. Yokozuna, Bam Bam Bigelow and the Headshrinkers Casket Match The Undertaker vs. Kamala WWF Championship Bret Hart © vs. Shawn Michaels

    Discussion: The Undertaker

I heard that if Undertaker would ever lost at WM, it would be to somebody who had zero momentum going but the company was behind, with Ted DiBiase, Jr. being mentioned specifically. In my opinion, nobody, established or not, could live up to it. I want his streak to live on. If he doesn't deserve it, then nobody does. At all.

The Things That Anger You Thread.

It's a promotional sandwich. Don't worry, it'll be back in about a year. It will be, though I'm certain that one could do an acceptable job of duplicating the burger itself. You know, frying up the bacon and what not and putting it on top of whichever already-existing-burger that they added to. Like Bobili and shit.

If HHH breaks The Undertaker's streak then I will stop watching wrestling.

    The Old School questions thread

That's a good question. They could have solved the problem the same way that they did the year prior by having some of the top-tier talent pulling double-duty. I guess they figured that it would be a quick and ugly thirty minutes, so there was no need for anybody else when the spotlight was supposed to be on Shawn and Davey Boy.

The plan was already set in place for Sid to win the Big Gold Belt en route to going over Vader in a unification match at Starrcade 93.

WWE General Discussion - September 2008

That match is hilarious to watch because of how dead the crowd is. At points, the guys seem to be trying anything to get people into the match, including the guy Heavy Metal randomly yelling, "Heavy Metal LOVES the USA!" It didn't help that WWF shut the giant video screens above the ring in an effort to make sure that the crowd wouldn't get too into the match.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

That absolutely rings a bell. I only had a few WCW Mags in a rather large wrestling magazine collection, and I just happen to remember that quite well. Plus I remember stuff like that so much more accurately than I do things from the past few years or so. I'm totally gonna try and dig that up next time I go back home to visit.
