Wait, can't you feel the anticipation in the air? Can't you just see those ratings exploding after that thrilling mcmahon yammering about his family while regal nodded?! I mean this is the shit!....unfortunately...i mean literally. If this is really their idea of what to do when ratings go down I'm saddened cause this Raw has sucked total ass......this so far in my opinion is the worst Raw of the year. Completely agree. We can only hope this show draws a 1.5 or something so maybe...just maybe..next weeks won't be a repeat of this horrible show.

Two weeks in a row that a segment runs way longer than it needs too. I mean you would think cena would be pissed enough after being beat and spit on to immediately whoop carlitos ass...but nope, we get more gay jokes! whoo! Cena is so fucking boring right now that its not even funny.

You can chalk me up as someone who didn't give a damn about it. Not only because it was too lame to even begin to suspend disbelief but also because I'm sick to death of seeing everything revolve around this fucking ego maniac. It just figures that Vince things the solution to solving all their rating problems is a show that is revolved around him.....for the 5,000th time. ugh... edit to add..Downhome's post gives me hope I'm wrong...we shall see i guess.

WWE General Discussion for August 2007

That isn't much better to say the least and still a huge drop in just one week. Even if they end the separate brands, unless the booking/storyline improves, they aren't going to get the ratings they are hoping for.

WWE General Discussion for August 2007

Decent read about King Booker. Says he doesn't see himself going back to Booker T, which I think someone posted before but not sure. King to visit Akron in the Raw WWE's talented Booker thrived on a tag team, now shows much flair working alone in ring By Scott Fishman Miami Herald Published on Thursday, Aug 02, 2007 After taking off time to recuperate from nagging injuries, World Wrestling Entertainment's King Booker left the SmackDown! kingdom with Queen Sharmell to invade Raw. He was sent to Raw during the show's 3-hour draft special. A talented wrestler who made a very successful transition from prominent tag-team glory to singles' stardom, he is ready to conquer new quests. ''I'm a soldier,'' said Booker, who will battle Jeff Hardy when WWE presents the Biggest Party of Summer at the James A. Rhodes Arena in Akron. ''Just give me my gun, and I'll go into battle. It doesn't matter if I'm on Raw or SmackDown! I really don't want to be on ECW. If I got drafted to ECW, I probably would have resigned to be honest. ''Being drafted back to Raw is a great thing. I'm looking forward to going in there and just continuing what I do, and that's wrestle, performing and giving the crowd what they want to see.'' At 42, King Booker has done just about everything he set to accomplish and more. However, having his off-screen wife and on-screen Queen Sharmell by his side has reignited the competitive fire within him. ''Her and I are a team,'' said Booker, who married Sharmell, a former Nitro Girl dancer and performer for World Championship Wrestling, in 2005. ''Business is always business, and personal is always personal. When we are at our job, we know we have a job to do. We do it, leave it at the job and don't take it home with us. ''When we're at home, it's totally different. It is from a different standpoint.'' Along with his constant road schedule, Booker helps run a wrestling school with his brother and former tag-team partner Stevie Ray near his home in Houston. The training academy runs events under the Pro Wrestling Alliance banner. Students not only obtain needed and necessary experience in front of crowds but also watch first-hand WWE superstars like Matt Hardy, past superstars like Too Cold Scorpio and TNA's Team 3D (formerly ECW and WWE's Dudley Boys). King Booker wants to give back. ''Wrestling took me places I never imagined,'' said Booker, the youngest of eight children who didn't let growing up in a rough neighborhood deter him from his goals. ''I never dreamed of being a wrestler. It was just something that worked out for me. I was just a neighborhood kid and nobody around was wrestling. ''It was like a hobby and an escape where I could be a different person at the moment. It wasn't about the money. It was just about having fun. Next thing you know some people call me and offer me a contract. Then it became a job, and then it became a career. That is the way you have to look at it because you never know where it's going to take you.'' Booker's career began to take off in WCW as a member of Harlem Heat with his brother Stevie Ray. The two enjoyed 11 reigns as world tag team champions. Women's wrestling trailblazer Sherri Martel, born Sherri Russell, helped lead the charge as their manager during successful times. Martel, a WWE Hall of Famer, passed away at age 49 on June 15. ''It's a tragic event,'' said Booker, who gave away Sherri, the bride, at her wedding. ''My mother passed just about the same age as Sherri. ''She was great. She was the catalyst and the one who made Harlem Heat who we were. She made us bigger than life. It was like she was my sister. We called her Sister Sherri, and that is pretty much what she was to us. We know Sherri is in a better place.'' As the superstar moves along to another phase of his career, the King Booker persona remains. ''I don't ever think I'll be Booker T again,'' said the king, who began his monarchy by winning the 2006 King of the Ring. ''I'm King Booker in the ring, and the people want to see me as King Booker. That character has really taken off. It has really gotten over the top that I think we're just going to keep on rolling with it and see where it goes. It's always good to have royalty around.'' Also at the Akron event, John Cena and Randy Ortonwill battle in the WWE Championship Match; Lashley will take on Umaga in a Special Challenge Match and Paul London and Brian Kendrick will fight Lance Cadeand Trevor Murdochin in a World Tag Team Championship Match. Candice and Mickie James will face Melina and Jillian in a RAW Diva Tag Team Match; Santino Marella will take on Snitsky; Val Venis will battle Sly (Maryse) and Cody Rhodes will fight William Regal. oAo Monday Night Raw Thread -- 8/6/2007

And lo and behold, I just saw Downhome posted this in the raw thread I have heard from two sources that Nielsen has contacted a number of programmers and said that there was a problem (glitch) in Monday's ratings, as I suspected may be the case. I am not sure what the extent of it is, but as I said yesterday, I wouldn't be shocked to find out that there was a problem since the drop was so huge. I have heard that Nielsen has contacted WWE about it but with the three straight weeks of 3.4s for Raw prior to this week, WWE does realize that there is a real problem with the make up of their shows and are working on doing what they can to fix them, regardless of whether there was a big drop on Monday or not.

Could it not be his disappearance from our screens that has caused the ratings to go down? I personally find Vince McMahon pretty entertaining, I'll admit that he needs refresh himself and style of feud he puts himself into, but overall he's a really entertaining guy. It must be embarrassing for some of the roster to have a 60 year old guy be more entertaining and do more outrageous things for the company then they do. I seriously doubt that. Considering the lack of compelling storylines and the Benoit stuff, it would take some really warped thinking to think its only because Mcmahon hasn't been on tv. Of course that probably means Mcmahon and his yes men think thats the case. Everything that can possibly be done with the Mcmahon character has been done so anything they try with him will just be a rehash of the same old crap. I think it was scherer over at pwi, that said he wonders if there was some sort of error that caused such a huge drop from the 3.4 to the 2.5 in just one week and I have to wonder that also. It does seem rather bizarre that the ratings would drop that much in just one week for no real apparent reason. The bad news is, if that was the case...and the rating goes back to the mid 3's or even low 3's this coming monday, guess who is going to take credit for it? Mr. "I push myself more than anyone else on the roster" Mcmahon. Those on the roster probably aren't embarrassed, they are probably frustrated. Because if Mcmahon cared as much about them and pushed them as much as he cares about pushing himself, they would be a lot more entertaining than they are. I would honestly rather see stephanie mcmahon out there than him at this point.

Damn..I was hoping we wouldn't have to see him for quite a long time. Why can't he just stay off the fucking show and not take up time that could be made for building up actual wrestlers? what a fucking egomaniac.

Jeff Hardy suspended for 30 days

Most of the suspensions and such from the wellness policy have been kept quiet since they revised it. Not only that, a 30-day suspension is the punishment for a wrestlers first failing the policy, or at least was since they could have changed that; the wellness policy itself is now MIA from their website and it's unknown what changes they've made to it. Yes, it's possible that Hardy really was suspended for being immature, but it's far more likely it's a drug or painkiller issue. Well like I said, If its drug related, I vote he showed up stoned or got caught doing it at work. I just don't think that with them being under the microscope they have been under and will keep being under, that when someone fails the wellness policy it would be leaked out as immature behavior. That is too easy for the media and congress to bagger them with later on down the line because it makes them look like they are trying to cover up he failed the test.

Jeff Hardy suspended for 30 days

Drugs, drugs, drugs, drugs. Jeff Hardy does drugs. He snorts drugs. Smokes drugs. Ingests drugs. Drugs. He's immature because he could be a main eventer but insted he does drugs. He was sent home because he does drugs. Drugs. Is that clear enough for you? Hey mcfly.... It was a damn joke But Please tell all of us how you fucking know for sure, were you there? You have an inside source? do you sleep with him and he tell you? what? Christ... Everyone knows he's had a problem with drugs but Normally if it was wellness policy related, it would be said so or known pretty quickly. If this was something along the lines of failing the wellness policy, its the first fucking time I or anyone else has seen or heard it be called "immature". If its drug related it would be something along the lines of showing up with a blunt/drugs or something, but if he didn't do that, I'm guessing its not drug related. If they have changed the wellness policy to the point where they now classify it as "immature behavior" that is even more ammo for the media and congress to use against them so I seriously doubt its that. So imo he either he showed up with drugs/stoned or he pulled a really shitty prank on someone.

Do we need to even ask this question? Actually yes because its rather unusual for them to outright suspend someone out of the blue.

Jeff Hardy suspended for 30 days

The most likely reason is probably the most obvious one. I'm assuming whoever changed the thread title has heard something. I thought he had been clean since returning though, has he not? He must have arrived to the show drunk or stoned off his ass or something. If its not that, maybe he got into it with someone in management but that seems less likely since he was in the middle of a push.

So why was he suspended? Edit..partial.nevermind. Just saw HTQ's comment that he was done so for undisclosed reasons. Must have been pretty serious though, any speculation by meltzer, keller, etc?
