WWE General Discussion for August 2007
Perfection replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
But but but...its not stephanie's and mcmahons fault!!! no sir... If this isn't a motive for finally...fucking finally, taking the belt off of cena I don't know what is though. Because if it was anyone else as champ, it would be done in a heartbeat. Eh, I'm no Cena fan but I don't think you can blame this on him. It's a backlash from the Benoit tragedy. The company needs to make major changes to the presentation of their product or the audience will continue to erode. I don't think its all a backlash of the benoit stuff. I think maybe 2 weeks after that story broke, those who quit watching because of it had already left. Benoit for example doesn't explain the big drop in ratings from just last week..as the benoit stuff has finally gotten out of the news for the most part. Since then its more of an issue of the product and/or who they are pushing and how. With regard to Cena, I'm not laying all the blame on him at all...its obviously a much bigger problem. However, rating declines have been used in the past for reasons to take the title off of someone and its clear to me that cena is probably at least PART of the problem. The world title picture has been so damn stale for too long. The wwe needs a major shake up and I look forward to hearing the news this week on the backstage reaction to this incredibly low rating. Hopefully this low rating will spur a major change in direction and booking. -

Holy shit, a 2.5? man they really need to shake things up from pwi Jerry "The King" Lawler is NOT GUILTY stemming from Sam's Town Casino incident during a Memphis Wrestling Show on June 15th, 2007, in which he was accused of "shooting" on Corrente and Corrente filed assault charges. Apparently Sal Corrente wanted an continuance of the case, but the court wouldn't allow it. Corrente is able to appeal the decision if he wants. Media was all over the place and Sal had "no comment" for them. -

Thats the thing thats holding him back, his stupid gimmick. I've never understood why in this day and age Mcmahon would chose to go along with something right out of the 80s. If he would drop that stupid savage gimmick and just play your regular big crazy son of a bitch, then that would be something to get over and make some money off of. I've thought for a while now the wwe should have someone who just goes nuts from bell to bell (not with a savage gimmick though) and umuga would be a good choice for that guy. Sort of like kevin sullivan back in the day, except better and more aggressive. So...basically turn Umaga back into Jamal then? Not really...more like in the image of steve austin. Since he has such a different look and move set, it would be rather cool imo. -

Interesting. I wonder if he broke his neck or something and didn't realize it till later. I've heard of that happening before. But if that's the case, why all the speculation/mystery?
-
son of a bitch, this sucks. What on earth would cause him to be in this much trouble? Someone mentioned legal troubles maybe but whatever it is, it must be pretty damn serious. Just when you think things couldn't get worse for wwe, something else happens. 2007 is the year from hell for the wwe.
-
That made me have a warm fuzzy feeling. And you could just hear all those poor little girls and kids crying in the back ground. Bad news is...Carlito will be murdered next week by the dreaded firemans carry takeover off the stage or something.
-
Maybe this will be the last time they trot out slaughter for his usual and pointless 2 or 3 time a year beating..in that sense maybe it was worth it.
-
That goes down as probably the most boring segment in raw history. I can't believe they went on that fucking long. Do the people who write these shows have any fucking brains at all?
-
.the crowd was like wtf.
-
Well that was a shock. Makes me wonder though if they are taking lashley off tv for a while and get him off those steroids.
-
haha good one. TNA really must be retarded. As someone else mentioned, after all this benoit stuff just happening they chose to associate themselves with a criminal? How stupid can you be? Of course Mike fucking Tenay and west will be screaming about how great it is to have him there I"m sure. god I hate tna.
-
Tony wasn't bad as a heel.
-
I hate to admit it but Tony's lines in that match were pretty damn funny. That match also reminded me how much La Parka ruled.
-
oh...my...god..khali was dancing edit to add...batista challenging khali got almost no reaction whatsoever...
-
I don't know exactly why but I just don't like matt hardy and I don't think I ever will. However, MVP was great in that exchange.
-
Its sad to see smackdown so short on stars they go back to the old 2 minute jobber squash like they just did with mark henry.
-
I miss the slow motion replays.

Bonnie Hammer submitting ideas to Vince
Perfection replied to Atticus Chaos's topic in The WWE Folder
SABLE? : Ok some make good points about pressure being put on them to come up with better shows and maybe thats a plus but if they follow ideas like they need another Mcmahon to return to push themselves over the talent.... and pushing for people like sable to return, then that's just fucking stupid. -

Good grief. Its bad enough we have bad ideas from Vince and Steph but someone who knows nothing about wrestling? damn -
Exactly what I was thinking, he's better in every way than morrison. Burke does small things that make his matches good and goes the extra step in every match I see him in, which is why I'm such a big fan of his. He deserves to get a huge push.
-
I'm not saying he's ruined...he can always be built back up, but you are kidding yourself if you don't think they have hurt him lately in the eyes of the casual fan. I'm not looking at this from a "smark" standpoint..I'm looking at it from a mark standpoint. They see him losing in big matches to someone that the casual fan never took seriously, especially the last few months before coming to ecw...plus they see him struggling with very well known losers. The problem with ecw is they are working with a skeleton crew and there is no one else to build morrison up...who is a fucking lost cause anyway imho. He doesn't have "it", whatever that "it" is. So despite that they take someone who seems to have more going for him and book him in such a way that makes him look less than stellar.
