Great review. I think everyone can certainly agree with the assessment of the first SF (really, I feel like it wasn't as much M. Bison that Raul Julia was playing, but a more evil Gomez Adams), and this one sounds fucking horrifying. Here's a question though: Is it worth even a download to say "I saw how shitty this movie was"?

This was far more intelligent when it just said "Edit". How can you declare Obama a "Really awful Democrat" when he's been in office little over a month? You have no clue how any of his policies are going to work out in the long run... or hell, even in the short run. It took a lot of restraint to go with really awful vs something a bit harsher. I'm glad that you can blindly follow your FEARLESS LEADER~!, but that doesn't explain your magic future vision which explains how Obama is an awful President only a month in and with actual evidence. But again, you're the same guy who believed Glenn Beck's fanfi- I mean, secret interview with Bush.

What's this? Miracle on Ice. Tikhonov (the Russian head coach) pulled Tretiak (arguably the greatest goalie of all the times) after the Americans scored a bit of a soft goal near the end of the first period. Totally boneheaded move. The saddest part is that goal was only half his fault. The defense had completely given up on the play, and he should have never eve had to face that shot.

The Islanders must win this. And when I say the Islanders, I mean Scott Gordon, because it seems like a loss to the Leafs means a pink slip in the mail this year.

Ah, Czech is a Politico reader. I do agree with Czech; this was a bad move. Maybe they thought they knew what type of speech Obama was going to do, and he pulled an audible, leaving Jindal out to dry.

It's already been mentioned but: Jude Law. He even has a Rorschach tattoo. Yeah. He has the youthful look combined with the dignified attitude, but more importantly he has the presence. The guy playing him right now makes him feel too much like a background character and he looks old, even when he's young. It just doesn't work. And those little animated comics are neat, but not nearly worth it. Sadly, they should have gotten the guy who played the Question in JLU to do Rorschach; the guy doing it in the clips isn't nearly as threatening, angry, or crazy. Too calm. Edit: Also, watching the creation of Dr. Manhattan, the way his girlfriend reacts just seems wrong. She was basically freaking out in the book, but she just seems too unmoved by the situation. I'm sure they meant to go for disbelief, but the actress fails at portraying it right.

I don't think anyone thought that the Sharks would come out so motivated. Or, more interestingly, that the Stars would come out so damn flat.

Now that we're starting to close in on the home stretch, how are your preseason picks looking? Right now, my western conference looks pretty good, though unless Vancouver nose-dives the best I'll get is 7 of 8. My East is similar, though Pittsburgh's nosedive has them hovering and I though Ottawa could make 8th seed. Otherwise, I feel pretty good so far about most of my picks (Outside my division winners).

Okay, I might have to rescind my "no go" just to laugh at this.

For purporting a system based around the psychology of the consumer, you might want to figure out what the people are actually thinking right now.

Gilliam as director... could have been interesting. Jude Law was interested in being Ozymandias for a long time, and he's probably the one of the few big-name stars that I'd accept for this sort of movie. I think he could have pulled that role off brilliantly.

What the hell is with the wire-fu style jumping stuff? You know, for a comic that's supposed to be as gritty and realistic as you can get, it really is irritating to see a guy like Rorschach magically leap up ladders and stuff. Less slow-mo and more Batman Begins stuff would be preferable. I think the guy playing Rorschach is doing a wonderful job, though. Definitely the right guy.

No, I can't imagine why no one takes your hockey input seriously. The way you edited my post shows that you don't understand what I said. And what, a Leafs Cup victory is that out of the question?

I've only seen a few of the clips, but I do like a lot of the acting choices. Dreiberg is dead-on, to the point that I'd like the guy to play Ted Kord, and I like Rorschach's look and sound. The Comedian is okay, but he's not quite as menacing or cruel as I'd like to see him, and the actor playing Veidt is a little off; I think it's because he wasn't typecast like the others which turns me off to him. Out of the scenes themselves, the only problem I had was that it looks like Veidt was organizing the Crimebusters, and that just doesn't feel right from a story standpoint. I dunno if it makes the ultimate villain too obvious or what, but I like it when Captain Metropolis was organizing things. The silliness that the Comedian talks about is accentuated by his reactions and history.

I just read those yesterday, tremendous stuff. Even with his limited English he has a great sense of humor. Also Hossa seems to mostly play with Hudler and Franzen but as you know Babcock likes to mix it up. Actually those are translated back from Russian. Of course, Russian doesn't always give clear translations to English. And I think Star Ocean is just following the Burke-wagon since the Ducks are having a rather uninspiring season.

That's all good and fine, but with the price of oil falling like a rock, she's looking at a serious budgetary problem. Katrina. I think that was the last straw for many people.

You're fucking crazy. I can't see Clooney being menacing enough to be the Comedian. I think the consensus was that a young Stacey Keach would have been the ideal choice, but I have to give them credit; choosing unknowns is the way to go for this type of movie. You don't want the stars overshadowing the story, and Clooney as someone who would not help.

So you're okay with people with serious mental issues taking care of kids? I have no problem with the idea within a free society; you are free as long as you aren't endangering other people with your freedom. By allowing mentally unfit people to keep their children, the state is putting the children in serious danger. I don't even see how this is debatable.

Hey, two fun interviews with Pavel Datsyuk. "Don't touch my dream with your dirty hands!" will be on Datsyuk signs everywhere.

Hossa is playing with Flip and Hudler, right? That's a pretty good line for him, as his hustle can offset some of Hudler's defensive failings. Plus, two scorers for a playmaker like Jiri is exactly what he needs. Franzen's goal in the last game was underrated. It didn't even make the ESPN Game Clips, but it took a lot of poise and concentration to pull that puck back in and get that goal standing between 4 Nashville defenders.
