You would think an abbreviated cycle. This would only happen every once and awhile, I don't see why they shouldn't do this. Or rather why it wasn't in place before. I was just wondering. I mean, we do do run-off elections, but this is a bit different in terms of campaigning and such. Not that a shortened campaign season wouldn't be welcomed...

So would you run the election concurrently, or would it be an abbreviated election cycle (Like a month or so)?

When most of the starting lineups shouldn't be there, damn straight I won't care about it.

Marvin, is this "secret interview" just in your head, or did you already post it to Fanfiction.net? And is anyone really surprised? I mean, he voted like this before. I agree with Edwin; hopefully he'll end it in the future, but I didn't think this would change anytime soon.

Replace Kansas City with Winnipeg or maybe Hartford, and I'll agree. In all honesty, I can't see Kansas City being anything more than "Nashville West".

I agree with this. However, if that security force sees Hamas launching rockets, what then should they do? I totally understand, I'm just saying that there needs to be intervention. It's part of the reason that Israel is making the situation worse: You might be killing an enemy combatant... but you're also killing someone who fulfills the same role as a cop, which makes things even more out of control since there is basically no civil protection when they are done. It's just how fucked up the situation is and why we need to intervene.
-
What if they need to control their own citizens? I mean, when you say they destroyed all their weaponry, what about police station houses and such? I mean, doesn't that only make things worse? I'm not arguing that they shouldn't have destroyed their weapons, but that there needs to be some sort of non-Israeli/Arab security force on the ground to keep things in order.

Well, he's technically not dead... he's simply living an endless procession of lives, each more pointless and oppressing than the next. His body might be dead, but his soul/mind is still in a hell of Darkseid's creation.

Don't you have some cops to "legally resist"? And where are you quoting that number from, because I've seen anything from 1,200 to 600, and none of them name the amount of children, nor the amount of combatants. I agree that we need to get Israel to stop this. This is exactly the type of thing the UN was designed to handle, but never does. I'm at a loss, though, at a way to bring them back to the table without putting some sort of UN Security Force onto the ground in Gaza to keep both sides under control. It's not like the Israelis wouldn't be looking to deal, especially in a two-state solution, considering they're going to be the minority in their own country if they don't by 2020.

Yes, Pittsburgh people, this is the perfect time to play CCR's Down on the Corner.

Well, there's the dagger. Right in Marvin's face, where we all wanted it.

Therrien will get a pass due to the injuries his team has. They're essentially without their normal defense. For the most part, I think they're happy to be where they are at right now, all things considered. Tippett's situation baffles me. I have to think that it's the players more than him, because he had a fine season last year and they were only a few good games away from the Cup with a tired team. I think he'll get some leeway, but he needs to figure out what the hell is wrong. If you fire Anderson... who do you take? Who is really going to make it better? Not to say he won't, but I'm not sure there is much of a point to it. I feel the same about Hartsburg, though I think he certainly has more of a team to work with. Considering the market, he's probably on the hotseat more than anyone.

I saw that. Apparently Hasek decided to stop possessing him by the time the Russians started playing, though.

The hockey was much better than last year, and Wrigley Field was an excellent choice. Sure, it wasn't as close, but the first two periods were damn exciting. I'd call this a success, though not as big as last year.

Yeah, go pick on the smallest guy you can find. Who are you, Chris Pronger? Hit someone we don't care about. Like Lilja. Again.

Gotta love the hats the Detroit Bench Crew is wearing. A damn good game (though I agree on the officiating; way too many penalties). You can see the start of a rivalry here; they're really starting to get into it. And DATSYUK!!!!

Godzilla Crisis Simulation? You have a link to an explanation for that, 'cause I'd love to see it.

TV Characters that went from kind of dumb
Nightwing replied to Madmartigan21's topic in Television & Film
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is similar, which shouldn't be much of a surprise; the best description I've heard given to it was that it's "A Live Action ATHF... with 5 Master Shakes." -
Anyone want to do it? We're closing in on the last few months, and this year has certainly had its share of great books. If so, how many categories, and how many nominees?
-
Bullseye?
-
Um, give nominees for now; voting in secret (though it seems fairly obvious for more than a few of the categories who is going to win ) via PM. Good names for awards would be neat as well. For example: Jeph Loeb/Judd Winnick Memorial Award for Character Destruction (Author/Character Category) The "Geoff Johns Retooling" Award for Most Improved Character (Author/Character Category) The "So Wait, They CLONED THOR?!" Award for Worst Moment

I'm not sure Randy's retarded insomuch as he's become a trendwhore in recent seasons. -

Initially that was likely the character, but now she's like a walking leper, even to the point that when she asked a random character out he shot himself in the stomach with a nailgun to avoid the date. I think the problem really is lazy writing. When "Family Guy" came back, most of the old writers had moved on, so Alex Borstein brought in some MadTV writers as replacements-hence one of the reasons I can't stand the show anymore. It's almost like Seth is going on autopilot with the show and giving more attention to "American Dad", which I think has become the superior product. Holy Christ, not only does that make complete sense, but I totally agree with you on American Dad. At least Robot Chicken makes no illusions about being just a clip-skit show. -
Did I read the wrong Batman #681?
