    New Ratings System

---This is a cut and paste of a post I made in GCF. We're *the mods* pretty much in agreement that this new system might mean a little more work, but should provide everyone with much better feedback. Please read over the new feedback policy and enter any questions here. We're going to start using it this week. You do not have to add everything up or put everything in the format I put below. We will gladly tally up the scores. Just post your thoughts! TWGRS The World's Greatest Ratings System Rating a show can be done on four factors. 1) Entertainment 2) Writing 3) Presentation 4) Realism These measures should be non-biased. And shows could be show to have strengths. For example, iZ could be rated higher on Entertainment and Realism, whereas hD has better writing and presentation. Given these measures, it might be that there is an actual talent split. If broke things down, it would also help people choose which show they want to be on because it gives them more information about what is currently on the show. Entertainment encapsulates how much you would enjoy watching the live event, and how the show itself brought you in. Did a particular joke or comment get you? Was one match really emotional? Writing is fairly straightforward. Were things spelled right, was grammar correct and sentences structured well? Did each action flow into the next, and did things that happen make logical sense. How readable was it? Presentation regards how the commentating, matches, and promo time are spread out throughout the show, how the show manages breaks and changes between segments, graphical quality, ending credits, and overall spacing/structure. Did you have to strain your eyes to see all that was happening, or did it just pop up from the screen. How were things marked? Realism is a measure of how close the show would play out in real life. Were wrestlers selling injuries, or did they do too many high risk spots that really would've injured themselves? Did the show last about two hours in perceived time? Were the fans reacting in ways that you would've expected them too. Was it spotastic? Technical? Would the show be able to actually air without the FCC suing us? ::This implies we have timeslots, and I have always used Late Night for us in EWR X-Factor Was this show better than the last week's show? Even? Worse. How to score Each of the 4 dimensions (not the x-factor) gets ranked on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being poor, 2 being weak, 3 being average, 4 being good, and 5 being amazingly awesome. 5's shouldn't really be given out unless something really does stand out. The X-Factor adds 1 point if the show was better, or subtracts 1 point if the show was worth. Final Score is all four dimensions scored + the X-Factor, with the Strongest and Weakest dimensions following IE. Iz Last week (just an example) E5, W3, P3, R2, X1/15/Entertainment, Realism

    New Ratings System

Parka is exactly correct. =) We can edit that so its not as confusing. I think what I meant to say was that if you hurt your leg, youre not nailing buzzsaw kicks with it the next second unless you gimmick includes some premise of hogan hulking up or some realization of awesomeness...ya know? Crazy spots are fine. Oh, and timeslots? It's generally been assumed but never actually said that our shows run about two hours. But that's how they typically feel, at least they have since we got serious about a year and some months ago. Of course, we're special so overages and special 1 hours always can and do apply, but i think having a goal of "hmm, did we fill up the show?" is a good check to see if there's enough contribution coming in to make a show seem whole. The shows are definitely not too long. Anywho, I was trying to describe question we would ask about how realistic things were. Not that we dont want crazy things or lots of submissions and what-not. There isn't anything in these feedback guidelines that should change the way we write our shows. The only thing they are aimed to change is how we give feedback. It's an attempt to be more constructive

Umm TMD, by OAOAST law you cannot no-sell since you're a newb Now, about Caboose... SJ pulls out his insta-teleportation device to get the F out of that closet. He then mulls over how to get back at Caboose... hmm....

Here's The Bound For Glory Logo

Not only is it simple, but the X is highlighted by the entire thing. Me thinks they already know to showcase the X-Division then at this.

I think my point Zack, is that you could've told me that you didn't like the segment way prior to Thursday and I would've gladly re-written it

Firstly, I had a second segment in GCF for a WEEK and Zack tells me he won't use it the day of hd. Seriously, that's put me in a foul mood, because that could've been rewritten to make both of us happy. Instead, some work that I did was slouched off because someone didn't get on the ball. Now, onto my thoughts. Work on your breaks. The very first transition, Cole announces Axel will be in the ring. He's not in the next segment. This makes no sense. Just cut off his intro and cut to him right in the ring, or say he is coming out next. Axel, flesh out your intro some too. You went from the stage to the ring with minimal description. Tim Moysey and Charlie Hoss was an effect segment I completely couldn't understand half of the Church of Northstar bit. The gramma was funny though. I would've put the match with Mad Matt in a different segment too. An iZ ad. Well at least something made it on iZ talent appearing on hD? Getting better. Actually, Jay's done a good job with this feud idea. Good final match, good promo by Calvin ----- Okay, so the show was an average hD show. It gets props for Calvin's and Jay's segments, the strongest of the night. What you don't get props for is some unsavvy editing and a lack of writers. There were 6, and 2 were iZ guys. I'm giving this show a 6, and I hope you can get more people to write for your next show. If anything, that's why I didn't give you a seven.

    IZ Feedback and Rating

I give it a 7.5, my version of a solid 7. I read through the whole of the I-5, and the match was written well. We had matches this week which was also a plus. The redebut of Dangerous A was very strong, and I like the fact that we get a Cappa/D-A feud. I don't understand the blurri-rangers, but then again, I'm sure LPYC will make it funny. And I'm thrilled with the build towards how important the iZ/hD battle is again. That was a very effective segment from Dan/Calvin, with shades of "face" for Dan?

    Taking on Commie College Professors

I think we all know what communism is. Economically speaking, its central planning and ownership of the whole by the state. And Economically speaking, central planning and total ownership is completely inefficient and doomed to fail Communism is, essentially a doctrine incompatible with modern human existence. Which is why it never has nor ever will exist in its pure form given the modern human existence.

    Happy Birthday

Well, I kinda doubt it, since I'm about to go leave & work one of my indy shows. Brilliant Promoter's Plan: take my sneaky, incompetent heel manager character, and have him turn babyface and become the ring announcer... by apologizing to the audience about all those nasty things he's said and done over the past year. Bloody genius. theyre holding you down

Catholic Church to Africa: Don't use condoms

Ah, should've checked my facts then. POV quoted something false. Hmm, well, thanks marney for pointing that out. I still maintain the original point me and Tyler seemed to agree on though, which was basically a feeling that this cardinal isnt speaking for all catholics, and by saying that im a dirty rotten sinner. I should go confess

He's a homegrown hD~! talent, and he's motivating people in his own way, similar to how WWF/E rallied against WCW. Calvin ESTABLISHED himself on hD~! You IZ boys are just lucky he's the champion. Same thing with the DM's, baybee! ::Goes to spraypaint "hD~! rools IZ drools~!" on Popick's house.:: But he's a heel...It's like a lack of kayfabe there. That's why I gave the show a 7. Having a heel, and a terrible one backed by a heel stable, deliver a speech to rally all of hD including the faces, who should be distrusting of him, ruins the kayfabe that he had being a heel. I can't see that actually happening IRL, unless one show was being made the aggressor. FYI, I am going to try and bring through that angle, Calvin at least gave me that idea. I'll probably suck at writing it though I'd like to point out that it was also an iZ tag team that dropped the belts to the Dream Machines cleanly. We helped. No, seriously, I'd really love to see more floating championships matches on iZ. We had some when you and I were feuding, but hD did too. When that feud stopped, so did the title shots on iZ. I think that's why there's the Intense5, and I think thatll help. But if you want to know why I rated it a 7, then now you know. Do you get my impression on the breaking of kayfabe? Now...if *and this is a big if and PURE SPECULATION on my part, Calvin's speech was disingenious as he's been getting buddy buddy with Dan Black on iZ, then everything makes perfect sense.
