    Oh yeah, he went there

This is still going on? BTW, is there anyone else who would like to see CE without the ByeByeBush or Kerry Sucks two words asinine comments? I mean seriously, if you don't have anything constructive to say, just don't post. That being said, I honestly don't read anything into Kerry's comment. I think Edwin is right, Kerry really didnt have much of an option, he had to say something to not appear weak, and he did it without mentioning Bush.

    Jobs report

Allright... Here's the deal. When the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the Federal Reserve, and most every freaking economist out there say the economy is getting better... it is. Yes, I'll grant you that job growth looks exactly like that. However, what you're focusing on is not correct. That focuses on one factor and one input of production and use that 1 piece of information to explain the economy's general trend. We don't care about short-term as much as the long-term. Therefore, when the orgs listed above say the economy is getting better, that means the projections years out are getting better and better. THAT's what we want. It's like dumping your best pitcher because his last two performances haven't been good. You don't. You go for the return over the long haul. Further, you're ascribing economic performance to depend solely on the executive branch. It doesn't. There's alot more to the economy than the fiscal stimuli our government gives us. This is a worldwide issue, so that means we're affected by quite alot of factors simply beyond our control. Blaming the president, whoever it is, is quite asinine in any election year. But it happens, and just ask Carter what it feels like, or Bush Sr. Right now, growth projections have been cut, .1%. Click on the article below to get an idea of what's going on. Alot of the key economic indicators are good, some are slowing because of seasonal effects. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5659249/ Don't attempt to explain the economy with one instrument. Thanks. Of course, like KKK says, the next thing I'll tell you is that I'm an economist. Right...

    Jobs report

Some basic economic facts, I'm pulling this off of Census Data. I'd link to it, but its a search on their site. You'll have to trust me on them. I'm summarizing Real after-tax incomes are up by 10% since December 2000 Consumer confidence is at its highest level in 2 years. The Conference Board's index of consumer confidence increased nearly 30 index points in the past 12 months, from 77 last July to 106.1 this July. The national homeownership rate, in the second quarter of 2004, was at an all time high of 69.2 percent. Minority homeownership set a new record of 51% in the second quarter, up 0.2 percentage point from the first quarter and up 2.1 percentage points from a year ago. NOTE: Aside from R&D, this is the most pivotal indicator of economic growth. We WANT growth here. Inflation remains low by historical standards. The national unemployment rate declined to 5.5% in July - down 0.8 percentage point from a peak of 6.3% in June 2003 and the lowest rate since October 2001. Employment over the last year was up in 46 of the 50 states Who's Hiring? Table 3b. I like the other quiz recommended: Economic Left/Right: 5.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.85 That puts me a little to the left of Friedman, which is about right.

    They knew...

Answer: Because they're on the verge of collapse. "It has to get worse before it gets better." And please people, the war was anything but about oil. I'm out of the office for a few days, but Iraq's oil generating capacity at the time of invasion was in the pits. So much more growth in oil exploration is not in the middle east that OPEC over time has slowly seen its cartel influence suffer. Greenspan said it himself, we're not as dependent on them. Saddam was a destabilizing influence in a region that needs stability. There's one reason. We're also a little concerned about Iran, because well, they've been flirting with revolution alot. No one died in vain on 9/11. To ascribe that...no. Bad. Why do we continue to lose lives in Afganistan? Oh yeah, that's right, our guys are still there, there's just not as much friggin resistance. Somalia was a disaster that the US intervened in. Bosnia, Serbia. Same problems...US was there. If it's okay to attack those guys, its okay to attack Iraq. Milosevic and Saddam and the Somalian warlords are quite similar. Remember, when you back a cat into a corner, it becomes a tiger. That's what we're trying to beat right now, and the kidnappings were a sign that its working...The more desperate, the closer we are to war's end. That's a truth about war and victory. It is never easiest at the end.

I might be going to Mardi Gras

Avoid the Playboy balcony...more tease than its worth. There's plenty going on all around Bourbon street. Tip #1: Go to the parades, especially Endymion and Bacchus. Scope for a group of cute girls. Approach nicely, ask em to help you get beads *you're guys, you don't get any*. How? Put them on your shoulders, bring them to the float. You'll get a ton of beads, they'll be hot because of squirming around your neck, and you'll have the strong guy appeal. You should be good to go from there. Word of warning though: Be careful about the jailbait. Subtract two years from what you think they are. We did this both nights, and had company both nights. Including the infamous incident in which IDRM was jealous of me. 2) You get what you offer. Don't bring shit beads to Bourbon street. Don't offer shit beads to a girl. If you do #1, you'll have a ton of really awesome beads from the horny old men on the float who are jealous of ya *and because said girl is flashing them close up* 3) If you're in by 3am, you're a wuss. sleep from noon to 6

    OMG More Moore!

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/M/MOO...EMPLATE=DEFAULT BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) -- Filmmaker Michael Moore's Bush-bashing documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" has apparently upset more than Republicans. The Pantagraph newspaper in Bloomington said Friday it sent a letter to Moore and the film's distributor, Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., asking for an apology for using what it said was a doctored front page in his movie. The paper is seeking $1 in damages. A scene early in the movie shows newspaper headlines related to the contested 2000 presidential election. It includes a shot of The Pantagraph's Dec. 19, 2001, front page, with the prominent headline, "Latest Florida recount shows Gore won election." The newspaper says that headline never appeared on that day. The paper said the headline appeared in a Dec. 5, 2001, edition but was not used on the front page. Instead, it was found in much smaller type above a letter to the editor, which the paper says reflects "only the opinions of the letter writer." "If (Moore) wants to 'edit' The Pantagraph, he should apply for a copy-editing job," the paper said. Neither Lions Gate nor Moore were immediately available for comment Sunday. © 2004 The Associated Press.

    Electoral Vote Predictor 2004.

The reason why the electoral votes are split stems from our the writers of our constitution envisioned the party system. They didnt want a coalitional governing system because those are more unstable.
