I'd have to watch too. Maybe that's a rib to whoever reported it. Not that Iron Sheik, morons.. THIS Iron Sheik http://www.ironsheik.biz/ Yes we're morons for not knowing this piece of garbage. I'd rather see the original in concert, unless they paired this clown with Daivari and brought in Muhammad Hussan too.

Yeah but haven't they dropped it lately?

Did they get the title shot before or after they whipped LAX and Guerrero? Yeah I don't pay attention to the details sometimes. Maybe the logic is that they goaded LAX into giving them a crack at the belts by humiliating them. I don't think it would have hurt to go to a no contest against the Machine Guns and they still could have whipped them (and West).

TNA's men's division reminds me of an old Saturday Night Live skit, Celebrity Jeopardy. "Phil Donahue" rambles on and on instead of answering the question each time and finally Trebeck begs him "I know you know the answer, just say it!" The talent is there now, Mantel and Russo, anybody else helping, ought to know what to do with it by now especially since the women can be added at any time to fill up dead spots in the show. It seems like they're so close to breaking through but I've thought that before. Has anybody read about serious discussion of a weekly Knockouts show on Spike. One hour on Wednesday night, Tuesday night after ECW, whenever, I'd watch. I don't hear any puppies chants on TNA and the heat is good to very good so the women and bookers appear to have gotten it over. There are only a couple of minor things I'd do different, I'd have built up Moose a little more before having her go over Roxxi and ODB in back to back weeks and yes I understand the ECW brawl is her match. I'd give all the wrestlers except Kong, ODB or anybody else with a similar title a last name, Gail Kim and Angelina Love sounds a lot more legit than Moose or Roxxi. Natalya instead of Nattie Neidhart, Mickie instead of Mickie James are annoying too.

I liked most of what I saw tonight, the Machine Guns against Rude and Storm, Don West whipped, Moose against Roxxi, the Mexican against the Russian. Like most everybody else probably I figured a fat or ugly woman and a man would be two of Angle's dates. Comedy gold...I fell asleep before that wrapped up with Angle about to confront Bubba Ray over it, I'm sure I missed a lot there. I woke up in time to see Raisha Saed or however it's spelled against the new blonde kid, I really liked the match. I'd make the time to watch a weekly one-hour knockout show, I did read where it's being talked about but that might be wishful thinking or just ordinary network discussion about possibilities. Some in here will disagree but I'm glad they cut away quickly from Roxxi getting opened up. I just looked on the TNA site and it looks like there's about a dozen woimen's wrestlers plus they don't even have Moose or Taylor on it yet for some stupid reason. That's plenty for a one hour show, and the likes of Val, Hemme and Angle could be part of it as managers or in the ring every now and then. And of course Daffney, etc, could be used to mix things up with new matches from time to time or even be added full time if they get over. I'd watch. It's surprising how women's wrestling has gotten good, quick, in both leagues, just shows when they want to produce quality they can at any time. Looking at the roster quickly you could have a group of faces with Gail Kim, ODB, Roxxi, Traci Brooks, Salinas and Taylor, the heels with Kong, Saed, Moose, Love and Skye, Jacqueline and Hemme. Have Saed double as Melissa again, I'd say many fans won't get it at first and maybe do a split personality gimmick. I haven't seen Scott Steiner's woman on lately, at the very least they could be jobbing her against Taylor or Roxxi to keep getting them over. I guess Rude's stalker fan is gone. I wonder if there's ever been a stronger group of women's wrestlers on a national show? GLOW doesn't count. I never though I'd say this after the diva garbage the last few years but these ladies have me excited about watching the product again.

Have Dusty show up to talk some sense into Cody, DiBiase and Cody give him a memorable beatdown. That should help with the heat. One of the reasons I liked the show is because I was expecting the Vince mystery to take up a large portion.

Ahead of Andre, Bulldogs, Steamboat?

I thought I noticed Junkyard Dog in the opening to Raw the other night, the historical superstars, etc. I'm a little surprised they thought that much of him to include him. I don't remember him being super popular in the WWF, nowhere near the way he was in MidSouth.

Vickie Guerrero Not so much her as the reason, but the fact that it proves anyone can get over face or heel. The crowd reactions are worth tuning in to her segments. I continue to watch because even someone that's disappointing may start surprising me at any time.

What, the "Bimbo Brawl" wasn't enough of a clue? Meltzer: SIGN DAFFNEY, GODDAMMIT. I wonder what time the game started and what Impact was showing when halftime started.

I'd enjoy a heel group of Michaels, Cade, London and Kendrick. Maybe even bring back to Horseman name for the heels to mock Flair.

Free tickets for NWA show in Atlanta tomorrow

That's too bad, and humiliates some legendary wrestlers. The promoters should have known better and run it in a much smaller venue. -
They should push Roode and Storm as an odd couple, city slicker and cowboy team, their opposite ways could be the thing that can them over as a group. Maybe they're doing some of that already, I haven't got to see all parts of the shows lately. I don't mind Rhodes and Relic being used as "jobbers to the stars", just keep the rat and other stupid stuff off the screen.

I don't like the idea of it.

Are women wrestlers like this Knuckles blading now?
-
I can't believe I mixed those two up, even with the same Kowalski name. Damn.
-
Big K was former wrestler Killer Kowalski. They should have explained him better than just throwing him out there as some know it all but that's the AWA's production for you.
-
I am surprised he wasn't pinned unless it was for Vince paying off the end of his contract or something similar. I think Teijo Khan wrestled at least some in the Sharkey promotion in Minnesota.

I took a look at some old Memphis results and saw that the two teams did in fact wrestle a few times at the Mid South Coliseum, with a title hold up one week, then the Rockers won to retain. I'm wanting to say the Rockers were the heels for those matches and it wasn't faces vs faces. It wouldn't have been a stretch for them to have Michaels as a heel single if that had ever been covered on the ESPN show. I don't remember how long the Rockers were with the AWA after that. True there were other problems but more excitement, better booking could have led to better crowds, more money, maybe even some help from ESPN and some of the problems could have been corrected.

I agree Michaels wasn't ready for a world singles belt yet but if he had been given it, like someone suggested, going over a heel Henning before Henning left for the WWF might have been an idea. Here a few more ideas and as was also said, hindsight is certainly 20/20 when it came to this promotion. Be a little cartoony from time to time, considering the timeslot. If I remember right it was 4 Eastern in the afternoon, anywhere from 3 to 5 times a week. Perfect afterschool viewing. Turn Slaughter heel, back to the drill sergeant he was before feuding with the Iron Sheik in the WWF. A face, champ Henning could have gone over him instead of facing Bockwinkel and Gagne as a heel. Snuka as a wildman heel managed by Sheik is another idea. Also dye Patera's hair blonde again and grow the beard, turn him heel like he was until late in his WWF run. He had absolutely no charisma as a face but was still muscular enough and looked brutal enough to be a convicing heel. This might have been too much for the times but turn Greg heel, he's tired of being compared to Verne, etc. Either that or push him down to a midcard face or find him another permanent tag partner to replace Brunzell. Push Zenk harder after he came on board. He probably would have been as well known as any on the roster, opened Wrestlemania III. No specifics, but it seems more could have been done with a young Rick Steiner pre-Bill Watts, Scott Hall, Leon White pre-Vader, Yokazuna, The Trooper pre-Patriot, others. Try to work out something with Eddie Sharkey who operated in Minnesota and trained a ton of talent including the Road Warriors and Rick Rude. I don't know the feelings he and Gagne had for each other but the may have not been on the best of terms working out of the same base. All that being said, as I said before, any wrestler really getting over might have just left quicker, probably to New York. Yeah, I would have loved to have seen Memphis regularly on ESPN.

Does he even know it airs on USA, part of the Universal corporation? Or remember that he got in a ring on a pay per view?

For one, I would have continued Henning as a face with him beating a heel Bockwinkel for the belt. The crowd the night he won the belt cheered even with Zybsko's obvious interference. When they knew Hall would be leaving, earlier, have him turn on Henning with Curt coming out the winner, that would have led into a run for the belt. While that feud was going on let Bockwinkel-with Zybsko's help-fight off Wahoo, Snuka, Slaughter, Blackwell. They felt they had to put the belt on Bockwinkel after the Hansen nonsense but even after doing that they could have turned him full heel again. I want to say he'd turned face after Zybsko turned on him just before he was awarded the belt. When Henning went to the WWF then maybe that would have been time for a face Michaels to get it. Janetty could have turned heel to build up Michales as a face. Interesting to think how that may have changed a ton of things. Lawler should have never got the belt until they were sure the cross promotion would work out.

Calm down, chief, just curious. My son is eleven and I don't allow him to fuck around on myspace, but it has been suggested on this board that I may be something of a fuddy-duddy, so I was just wondering if your daughter were older or younger, in case it's just me. No problem. Middle school age.
