    Is this legit?

Hey, welcome to the internet. You've probably familiarized yourself with your home page, maybe even set up an email account. The internet is a great place to download viruses, porn, and pixelated b-rate movies. You'll soon become very good friends with all three. Now, despite what you may be thinking-- that the internet is a perfect place-- it does have its bad sides. One of the most notorious staples of the internet's bad side is "pop-ups" and other advertisements that, as you can guess, pop up over the websites that you're browsing. When one pops up, it'll say something along the lines of "Free iPod Nano!" to which you'll think "Wow, great! A free iPod Nano! I've always wanted one of those, but didn't want to pay; this is the perfect solution!" Well, friend, put the brakes on! These pop-ups are no perfect solution. Most times, they're actually scams! They'll get your credit and private information, and then use it to totally "pwn" you later on in life. Avoid them at all costs! After all, would you believe it if some guy came out off the street and said "hey, friend, here's a free iPod Nano! All you have to do is give me all your credit and private information and your wife's maiden name"? Happy surfing, and be careful!

    I'm bored

    Stop it.
  3. haha, yeah, that's the first thing I thought when I heard that. That reminds me of a funny story. I was at a party, and some guy ran through the house yelling "COPS!!! THE FUCKING COPS!!!" So everyone collectively panicked, and started running in all directions. Some people simply bolted out the front door and scattered in the residential areas, and the rest went through the back. There's no back gate or anything, and the backyard of the house borders another house with a pool. Everyone just starts hopping the fence (we're talking a massive amount of people, maybe 75 people hopping a single fence into some guys pool) and this big ass guy starts heaving people that are already climbing the fence by pushing their asses up with two hands, totally clearing them into the pool. Now, the guy next door was already awake from the party, and came to the sliding glass windows only to see a horde of people jumping his fence, flying over the fence into the pool, and surrounding his house. The cops didn't even show.
  4. I saw Balls of Fury last night. I enjoyed it, but there were these fucking 11 year old kids guffawing at everything that happened and i was pretty sure that I would have to kill them. My friend leaned over and said "There is nothing worse than a child's laughter." It was based upon every asian stereotype ever, which was nice, but it didn't have much substance than that and totally counted on Christopher Walken to be the saving grace of that movie. Why was George Lopez in it?

    Super Smash Bros. Brawl

The website didn't advertise that move as a special or standard move, so i'd expect that just to be something he does in a movie. I dunno. Oh, the site also alluded to a "stage with a MGS motif. So you can look forward to that too."
  6. It wasn't an unlawful arrest. 1. The guy lied on the way into the building to evade the screening process for all the questions. 2. He apparently jumped up, ran down the aisle, and literally grabbed a microphone out of someone else's hands. Legally speaking, that's assault and theft right there. 4. When the police tried to escort him out, he started resisting. You DO NOT RESIST ARREST. Those cases you quoted (which I've never heard of before, how old are they?) are all fine and good in theory, but in the real world if someone resists arrest the police are legally obligated to consider their own safety first and the suspect's as secondary. 5. He started shoving the cops around. That's assault on an officer, and it's a serious felony. Technically speaking they could've shot the guy at that point, and quite easily been exonerated for it later. 8. Even after THAT, they didn't just tase him outta nowhere. They still gave him a verbal warning that they'd employ the taser if he didn't stop resisting. They told him that plain as day. If a cop says "Stop or I'll shoot", if you don't stop, what follows is YOUR fault, not the police's. That's the law, period. So, was using a taser necessary? Maybe, maybe not. But it wasn't illegal. 1. Is this a punishable offense? 2. That's not theft, legally speaking, as it was not the person's property, and hardly justifiable as assault. You could prosecute, but the case would be thrown out immediately, and it's highly unlikely as a civil lawsuit the assaulted would press charges. HIGHLY. 4. lol 5. Technically speaking, no they couldn't of, because they would've been massacred in the public forum, forced to resign, tried in a civil court and possibly criminal court, and actually have to pay for their actions. If the cops shot him that is, even still in court needing to prove that the situation had escalated past the point where peaceful and standard procedures had been exhausted and were no longer a viable means of subduing the subject. 8. In the video one of the cops says "tase him" after he delayed getting handcuffs. It was clear that before he was not struggling phsyically (only verbally) in the seconds before he got shocked. His body was on the floor, not moving. Again, he said "if you get off me, i'll walk out of here." He was not resisting arrest at the time of the shock. There was no probable cause that the student had a weapon on him.

The Brag & Cuss just shows Votolato's unwillingness to change, but that's a very good thing. I'm really impressed with the album.

    4,000 dead Americans

We should start a pool. How long will it take before the whole Iraq shit is over and done with? I think I can safely say that we're no longer paying for Vietnam or anything like that, and that was, what, 17 years?

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

I was watching a video on CNN about a woman getting tasered, and before that was an ad about video games and drug addiction and shit. It showed a video game character in the TV getting arrested talking to the mom of some kid, and he said "ALL I DO IS SMOKE WEED AND CAUSE TROUBLE" and the mom said "And my son finds you cool?"
  12. Yes, they had him on the ground and it was very unlikely that at that point further he was going to pose a threat to the police force. He told the cops that he would walk out if they got off him. I don't understand how he deserved it! Sure, he was being belligerent, but only so in asking questions in an inappropriate manner. He was resisting arrest because he thought it was totally unfounded. You and I would've done the same thing. Was he kicking and flailing so much so that four cops couldn't contain him? Hell no. Watch the video, that one black guy could've carried him out and did (halfway at least). They should've just removed him from the building and barred him from entering again. No one is justifing him grabbing the mic and everything, but I don't see how this makes him any more viable of a candidate for electrical shock. Even Kerry was saying that he was going to answer the question and that he thought it was too much for Meyers to get arrested. Furthermore, they charged Meyers with inciting a riot, when clearly the policemen are at fault for this. Would there've been a riot if they just escorted out of the building? Again, hell no. Like I said before, there's deserving something and having legal ramifications for your actions.

    Halo3

Halo 1 was an awesome multi-player experience, but it had the worst campaign mode of any game I've ever played. The plotline was cool, but everything else was ridiculous and labyrinthene.

    Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Oh, don't forget Guitar Hero III (although that is in October.)
  15. Yeah, because being a douche is good reason to arrest and taser someone. I'm glad that cops in the 21st century have to react like that, because their actions incited a riot, which I'm sure is much worse than one kid insinuating things at John Kerry. Didn't he even say that if the cops just got off him that he would walk out peacefully? Oh, well the cops couldn't take that seriously because he was going to go back and beat the shit out of all of them single handedly, bro. There's a difference between deserving something and having legal consequences for your actions. Furthermore, it's a little more than sickening how some people are saying that he somehow deserved the tasering because of his conduct. Go get tasered, and see how it feels and tell us if you'd recommend that as a justifiable punishment for not being a bro.

    Halo3

I am getting an XBOX 360 and I am fucking super goddamned excited. I'm planning on buying Bioshock and Halo 3, and later guitar hero 3 (probably over the Wii version just because of the graphics.) What is a reasonable price to pay for a used 20GB system? New, they're like $250 now right? I said $200. Also, what's the webbernet set up for 360? Pay? Hmm?

    9/11

I was listening to this thing on NPR from the foreign minister from Iraq, or some other high totem post in the Middle East. It was a year ago. Anyway, he made some very good points, but one stuck out more than all. Fuck. I really wish there was a transcript. It was a very eloquent speech and is something that every American should listen to, patriotic or not. "September 11th proved, for once, that America is irrevocably part of the real world."

    Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Ice climbers are just poor characters. They're weak and usually the first characters to be knocked out, since, if Nana gets knocked out, then the other guy is powerless. I don't know who I'm rooting for at this point. Maybe Birdo would be a nice little Yoshi clone...

    Movie Theater etiquette

My mom once brought an apple to a movie theatre. A fucking apple. The David Cross bit on cell phones is great, listen to it. I was watching a fucking shitty movie that I got dragged into somehow, I forgot the title, but it was this gay little sappy movie pulling out all the cliches, etc. I just ended up groaning really loudly and walked out. Spiderman 2 was a terrible movie.
