HBO's new show about Imperial Beach, California. It's essentially a strip of land by San Diego which houses hundreds of illegal immigrants that jump the border. The show follows the Yost family, and primarily the three men- Mitch, his son Butchie, and Butchie's son Shaun. They're all surfers, the former two retired but the latter is an up-and-coming star. Butchie's also a heroin fiend and is involved with some sort of drug ring in Hawaii. John (from Cincinnati) is the most peculiar character in the show, who only repeats what the person next to him says plus the phrase "Somethings I know and somethings I don't." It's just a damned good show. Watch.

I have a few friends who listen to shit like Bubba Sparxx for the irony of them because they're white and shit. One of the girls is just this fat annoying coke head who thinks that swinging her arms and shit to Miss New Booty is all funny when it's actually really annoying. Pretty much anything that's "ironic" bugs the shit out of me.

Safari 3.0 has a spellcheck, and the other versions had them too. There's not much more than 2.0, aside from PC compatibility. Even still, it's the best browser I've ever used. I pretty much use it because of its sleek interface, but it's way easier and quicker to use than Firefox.

You have a difficult time giving "rights" to skaters? Wow. Where do they fit in the pecking order of humans?

My dog has a good enough goddamned life already. I get the chair.

The biggest burger I've ever eaten was at this place called "Teddy's Bigger Burgers". They have absolutely great shit, and huge burgers as well. The biggest is the "Monster Double" 18 oz. I ordered that western style (no vegetables, onion rings, a pig's worth of bacon) and then pastrami style on top of that (grilled onions, 5 oz. of greasy pastrami). I was going to opt to dip it in hot whiskey, but it was good enough. It was assembled by God. It took me 30 minutes to eat, and I ended up shitting my insides for like a week afterwards. I even had to smoke a bowl after eating to settle myself.

I agree. I use my phone to make calls, and not much else. Phones in Japan are worse.

I really really love this show. Some of the songs are hit and miss, but the most lollerful moment came at the New Zealand Expo: "All the ladies with your babies, make your babies shake their booties, yeah!"

I was delighted to read that. Justice served.

That's one of the latest patents that Apple has filed for the newest ipod. Personally, I hate touch screen. However, if they eliminate the physical touch pad to make room for a bigger screen, I'm all game. I think that if they want to really destroy the Zune, which was once considered a pithy competitor actually is holding good ground despite its many setbacks, they need to release the 6G iPod in the same design as the iPhone, but just make it strictly an iPod. Also, kick the HD up to 80GB for the baseline and boost battery to 24h for music and however much for watching videos. The iPhone is a really awesome gadget. It's not the most expensive PDA on the market, but it is one of the best. However, the shit with AT&T is a tragedy because, after listening to NPR reviews, the calling service is bad and the internet service is much worse. AT&T is already an ISP, so it seemed kind of natural, but unless you're in a Wi-Fi hotspot, you're SOL on the internet. I think it's just going to replace the sidekick. All the celebrities are going to have it, etc.

woops. Everyone around here drives 35 on the freeway and it takes me 45 minutes to drive 10 miles to school. I have a hybrid toyota highlander, but that's only because I'm being fuel-conscious when I pull my boat. Irony, huh?

I lived in THE OC for the lion's share of my childhood, and can easily say that despite the traffic when there is traffic (even though there is a plethora of alternative routes), that the drivers down there know what they're doing. 75, 80 is considered a reasonably slow speed on the freeway. Now, I live in hawaii, where the freeway is a 6 lane freeway, half of many of the freeways in Southern California, and the driving is all around terrible. There are a lot of damned old people here, which means obeying the speed limit, which is 50 at best. 50 MPH on the freeway. Similarly, if at one point, you have to merge, then you can just expect a traffic jam. San Francisco also sucks because you can't take a left turn to save your life anywhere. I took BART and MUNI wherever I went, so it wasn't a problem.
