Religious Tolerance & Religious Moderation Are a Joke

REALLY NOW. Sex and having multiple partners is part of the African culture. Telling them to wait until marriage to have sex is like telling you that you should have ten wives and already be starting a family by the time you ascend into adult hood.

The Agent of Oblivion question of the day

This. Apparently the moon's gravity has some kind of stabilizing influence on Earth which smooths out the wobbles in its rotation and helped bring about life as we know it. Kind of. The moon actually contributes to the eccentricity of earth's orbit. Also, the Milankovitch cycles show that earth's rotation is really fuckin' wobbly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milankovitch_cycles

You'd think that Glenn Beck is exactly the kind of person Republicans would categorically shun.

I'm not saying that Viacom isn't a corporation, but it's like the kid who is so far below the radar in school that he can do whatever he wants.

    Contradictory. Self-contradictory is redundant.

Craigslist manners, and people who don't have them. If you aren't coming to pick up your shit from me for any reason, I don't care what it is, just give me a fucking call and tell me that you're not going to come so I don't have to wait by my phone. 1 minute call. "Hey, Peter BUTT, I'm not gonna be able to swing by. You should probably let it go to someone else. Thanks." Really, that hard for the common courtesy? Assholes.

What a joke. The writer is suggesting that science is morally tenuous, and opening up stem cell research could lead to experiments like Tuskegee. How absurd.

Well no shit. All those networks are the pretty representations of moneyed interests, reflecting moneyed interests. They're utterly worthless.

    Spaceman Ross vs. The Internet

I love everyone's one sentence retorts on this site. Seriousy, no one presents any sort of arguement when they post. Is that the ideal way to post? Clever retorts without any sort of justification as to why they're posting what they are? In all reality, many of the posters here are just sexually repressed people asserting their internet manliness and intelligence in order to compensate for their lack of actual real world communication skills. I will slap the shit out of you. Haha. I lulled.

I have a touch screen phone, and it is pretty much the goddamned worst thing in the world. I have to restart my phone almost once an hour because it gets completely uncalibrated after like 45 minutes.

I see no reason why not. Some of the reasons we haven't opened up relations with some countries are just laughable. Cuba is one of them. Let's be friends.

Well, the whole "bootstraps" thing stems out of the libertarian philosophy. Your will is free, you are making choices, the environment around you is not making the choices for you. You are responsible for your own welfare.

But that's the whole basis for calling Rand a libertarian!

I don't think you're interpreting this correctly. Free will as the philosophical freedom to make decisions and not blame your environment for your actions. It has nothing to do with politics at all. It's like I said: she's a libertarian inasmuch as Sartre was. Wait, what are you talking about? If you say "we have free will," you're going to mean everyone. I haven't read Rand, like I said, but no way in hell was she saying "well, these people have free will, and these people are determined."
