I have 3 pairs of vans slip-ons (straight black with a hole above my big toe, black and white boxes (not checkerboard), and American flags) and a pair of super beat up white hi-top chucks, but I can only wear the vans for riding. Oh and Rainbow sandals for when I don't want to put socks on.

Yeah but those liberal women don't represent shit so hah take that

That song "Anoint The Dead" is quite possibly the worst metal song I have ever heard.

Bought my shuffle today. Red, so I'm that much closer to heaven.

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5isOFwdb...TI1gMgD937FJC82 Dear Mr. Obama, Thanks for reading The Smart Marks forums and taking my suggestions. It means a lot to me. Love, Mr. Pbone

Exactly the reason I bought a bike. Greatest purchase I have ever made, bar none. Well, that and my guitar. Waiting for trains to go to the city sucks, but I'm glad they exist, they're very efficient. And $3.89 is the cheapest I've seen around here. So it's going down.

They like the drive over.

Anchovies actually go well in a salad. Anchovies and egg yolk, no joke.

I'm pretty sick of this election.

Hell, here's 5 more. Calexico: Alt-country band mixed with some slowcore. Very cool sounds. Did some work with Iron & Wine, a fine compilation, that. Albums: Not sure, but the latest is Carried To Dust, and the Iron & Wine comp is great. Xiu Xiu: Experimental. Amazing percussion work. Albums: A bunch, latest is Women As Lovers, personal favorite is Knife Play. Diminished Men: Seattle-based surf rock. Albums: Names of the Dead Aloha: Definitive indie soft-rock, but a well structured band nonetheless that puts together some rather nice songs. Albums: (favorites) Some Echoes, Light Works The Most Serene Republic: As close to an explosive marching band with vocals as you can get. Excellent textural work going on here. Albums: The Men Who Live Upstairs

Here are my top 5 right now. Fleet Foxes: Basically, a Seattle-based eclectic do-goodery. Sounds like Bands of Horses, but more based in a forest. Albums: S/T Mew: Scandinavian arena indie. A blonde man's gentle alto layered over powerful drums and guitars that sound like swords. Albums: And The Glass Handed Kites, Frengers Cold War Kids: Bluesy rock band based out of Fullerton, CA that uses all sorts of jangling drums and incoherent piano lines. Albums: Robbers & Cowards Jaga Jazzist: Scandinavian acid jazz. It's fucking good. One of the Mars Volta's favorite bands. Albums: Several, but the best is A Living Room Hush, which I posted in The Dump of the mediasharing folder. Algernon Cadwaller: Philly-based indie band that is a carbon copy of Chicago's Cap'n Jazz Albums: Some Kind of Cadwaller

Are you also into other things, or strictly that?

Oh god she looks terrible.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

Your XM feed to Glenn Beck stopped working? HDTV blacked out? O's lost? Hershey Park was closed? -
At Safeway, they don't even bag your shit anymore.

I'd be surprised if that wasn't anon or SA.

Right, you described what it is, but that doesn't mean that it's good. It's such an artificial and contrived niche, bordering on gimmick: "oh, finally. What I've been waiting for. A song about shooting the shit on the New England coast." Songs about California, I get. Songs about the South, I get. Who was clamoring for a musical snapshot of Martha's Vineyard...that takes cues from Senegalese music? It's like the Manatee Idea Balls of indie. Well describing something doesn't mean that anything is good. If you don't like it, that's fine, but other people do like it, and all I'm trying to say is that perhaps it's a good change from what's going on. Who knows? Maybe some of the people who listen to them on MTV will do a google search for them, find P4k, and pick up, oh, I don't know, a Walkmen CD.

Paris Hilton had to have a computer program that auto-adjusted the pitch of her voice to match the song. Case in point.

I'm glad that they're getting airtime. It's a nice change. It's not terribly overproduced, it doesn't feature a guest artist, it's just that; 4 guys signing about shooting the shit on the New England coast with chimey guitar lines. It's simple music, and I'm glad that people reserved a spot for Vampire Weekend instead of Paris Hilton's album on their iPod.

Oh, fuck that. Those are delicious and fat free (albeit full of sugar). Also, Fresco chicken and steak burrito supremes = godly. I could eat those fruitista things all day every day. Fuck.
-
Define hipsters for me please. Because round here, it's people that listen to Vampire Weekend and think that they are the best thing to ever happen to music. Vampire Weekend isn't the best band ever, not by a long shot, but I am really glad they exist in the musical community.

This Tyra Banks gimmick is terrible. It just amazes me that people on this board can't spell a simple word like lose. How stupid are you people?
