Ha, I'm from Texas, and I also voted Nader. As for the war... fuck. Its an absolutely no-win situation. You can't pull out with out looking like cowards who don't finish what they start. And you can't stay without looking like an occupying force. Either way, people from the extreme Muslim communities and those from the left and right wings of our own nation will always find a way to twist either scenario to their own advantage. Is there a solution? I think so, but it would actually involve the US admitting they were wrong. I won't hold my breath for that one, because the current administration is on a steady diet of their own hubris and self-aggrandizing. But its obvious that a military solution does not exist, unless you want to do the unspeakable and nuke the entire region. Which, by god, I hope everyone, even those who scream "LOL GLASS PARKINGLOT", will just open the biggest can of worms since the Cold War itself. The US needs to stop getting up in everyone else's shit. Its plain, and its simple. We don't need to police the world, and we don't need to be the "Hero of the Day" every day. It really all started with the way we handled the end of World War II, and its just spiraled out of control from there. Iraqis should be ruled by Iraqis. If they want to have a religious despotic government like Iran, let them. If they want to have tribal warlords fighting over everything and killing each other for thousand year old grudges. Let them. Its time for the US government to focus on the United States of America. The US created Saddam Hussein, when he was our boy against Iran. He got a little headstrong for our tastes, so we kicked his ass a couple of times. Problem is, one we saved his people from him, we didn't leave. The saviors that we once were to the Iraqi people quickly became foreign invaders. And they'll keep on banding together tenuously in order to get rid of us. Of course, they'll turn on each other once we leave... but honestly, why should we care? The war between Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds have been going on for longer than the US has existed, and they won't be satisfied until they've killed themselves down to the last man, woman and child. But they want us to get out of their way, and let them have their civil war. And we should let them, for its really none of our business. Its sad to see it happen, but just let it happen. I mean, we can't save everybody... the US is not the right arm of God that some people would like to believe, and we really shouldn't portray ourselves as such to the rest of the world. There are plenty of us who don't believe that we should, but our voices are not the loudest.

Ah, I said the same thing earlier in the thread. Its cool that someone agrees. After watching tapes of them playing live on the Binge & Purge box set, I have no doubts that in 1989, Metallica ruled the metal world. Especially when they opened with Blackened... just gave me chills.

I think JBL and JR should be calling all the PPVs together, and honestly, just pick one of the other announcers at random to be the third leg here and there. JR does the best play-by-play in the company, and with JBL's color commentary, its a win-win. They seemed to gel together pretty well on the last Saturday Night's Main Event.

I travel a lot for my job, so I've been to Chicago a couple of times. I have to say its definitely one of my favorite big cities in the country. If anyone here is from Chicago, you have my compliments on your awesome city. Especially the pizza.

There's actually one of these just up the street from where I live, and I seem to always be coming home from work at the right time to get stopped behind a transit bus blocking the entire right lane when I need to turn right at the corner. There's a 7-11 there, and I think the driver is always inside getting a drink around that time. I keep telling myself I should either leave work earlier or later by just a few minutes, but it never fails.

I guess I never really cared one way or another for Tajiri. I mean, he was pretty good at what he did, though. As I've probably said many times though, Goldberg is the only guy who should use The Spear. He was the only one who ever made it convincing. Of course, he may have just been hitting the guys too hard, I don't know. I've heard rumors that the guy wasn't so great to work with. I absolutely adore RVD, and if and when he does come back, I really do hope its for the E. I don't think TNA would do him any justice, and I hope he realizes that too. Malenko was probably one of my favorite technical wrestlers of all-time, so if he was willing... I'd totally mark for his return. But I don't think it'll happen. DDP was kind of a flash in the pan, but I think if he was promoted and pushed properly, he'd do alright for himself again. Hopefully not as a heel though. Bret Hart's return is nigh impossible, I'd guess... but if alien technology was able to cure his career-ending concussion, then fuck yes, bring back The Excellence of Execution. Guys like him and Malenko would add a lot of wrestling credibility to any roster they were added to. Of course, since the writers aren't really interesting in that sort of thing any more, they'd be squandered on a lame storyline. Chris Jericho and The Rock were the ultimate promo men. I agree with your idea of having them come back to teach the younger guys how to do it. I mean, I'd like to see them both in the ring again as well, but if not... teaching the youngsters is definitely a great way to utilize their talents.

I do miss The Rock, and what he once was cooking. But I don't think he'd honestly want to come back. McMahon can't pay him nearly what Hollywood does. I keep hearing that Jericho is coming back, and I truly hope it's all true.

Thank christ I'm not alone on that thought, although we'll get chewed out for liking CKY. Although IMO, Volume 1 is a better album, it's hard to see where they went wrong with An Answer Can Be Found. Oh well. My tastes in rock music are all over the place. I.D.R. is CKY's best effort, of that I'm certain. But don't think that means I'm discounting how awesome Volume I is. And honestly, I thought An Answer Can Be Found was awesome.

I'll be hosting a party at my house for The Summerslam Games & Tournament. In honor of King Booker's renaming of the event, I think I'll insist that everyone speak all "ye oldie style". As much as I hate to admit it. I'm kind of a bad driver. I know, I know. LOL GIRLZ R ALWAYS BAD DRIVRES!!1 But, I'll cop to the fact that I've gotten 5 speeding tickets in the past 8 months and that I may have missed a stop sign here and there. The most damning evidence of course, is the fact that I've done the whole "putting on makeup while driving" thing, and been pulled over and bitched out by a cop for it. And you know how they say that eye-lash batting and cleavage helps with getting off of tickets with a warning? TOTAL BULLSHIT.
