  1. It isn't just the knees. Efrain has Nover's timing down, and Nover doesn't have the wrestling to fight him off once Efrain gets the clinch.
  2. WOW. Efrain has shown by far the most amount of improvement by any fighter in between a season's end and the finale.

UFN 16 - Fight for the Troops

There are quite a few high level MMA fighters who are big-headed douchebags. And that number doesn't even come close to the number of BJJ practitioners, and even instructors, out there who are prideful scumbags.
  4. Primm desperately needs to drop to MW. EDIT: Soszynski has the most disproportionate ratio of hype to actual skill of the UFC's IFL converts. Dude was 4-4 in what was essentially a AAA level promotion. I blame it on him being simultaneously from Poland, Canada and Team Quest.
  5. HAHAHAHAH! I've been telling you all for a while: Vinny cannot take it nearly as well as he can dish it out. Impressive display of Lay & Pray by Bader. Fuck the haters.
  6. Rewinding and rewatching the DVR: - Browning looked much better than he did later on the show, but Kaplan is fucking balls, so Junie's really no further along in my mind than we he beat Jose Napolean Hitler. - Fuck ATT guys and their inability to make weight. I can't wait until Gouveia gets fucking exposed again. - Jules Bruchez is seriously in Wayne Weems territory in terms of terrible TUF vets. - Sick KO for Johnson, though the hype he's getting is going to be counterproductive if he gets matched up tougher before his skill set catches up with his physical gifts.
  7. It sucks, as he's still capable to beating of beating solid fighters and is generally entertainig, but the dude simply cannot strike a lick.
  8. I can't believe I fucking missed "Tenderness."

When they teach you BJJ from day 1 they teach you to respect your opponet, and be humble in victory or defeat. Not at every gym they don't.

    UFN: Stephens vs. Lauzon

I fail to see how Lauzon can beat Hermes. By being uber aggressive against a fighter's who's extremely tough to finish and has a knack for finding openings while on the defensive? It's especially unlikely considering Lauzon himself has only once ever gone the distance, in an exhibition fight to a less talented midget than Franca (v. Gamburyan)?

I can't believe you let EHME back you down on pimping Miller.

UFN 16 - Fight for the Troops

I have no idea why that's so fucking hilarious, but it is. That being said, as a fan of Yoshida and Japanese fighters trying to shine in the UFC in general, the ending saddens me a bit, though Koscheck REALLY needed that. That's a guy who knows how to enter contract negotations.

To be fair, who expected Koscheck to throw a straight punch?

Most predictable finish ever. Nice job on Rogan & Goldberg acting like KO'ing Goulet is the bomb ass pussy. EDIT: Also, YPOV was right on in mentioning that Goulet is the quintessential example of someone who'd be a completely different fighter with a decent chin.

Nevermind. The Miller boys are too good. "Miller is on another level tonight," says Rogan, as though Wiman would stand a chance when Miller's actually prepped. He's as in love with Wiman as EHME.

Wiman's striking still sucks, though he may luck out with Miller coming in on short notice.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

By adding a 17 second KO win over solid SHOOTO & Cage Force veteren Fanjin Son to his previous besting of UFC & Bushido veteren Michihiro Omigawa, I'm now making a far too early predicition that Chang Son Jon will be the first Korean to make it into the UFC's lightweight division.

I don't watch every MMA event that comes around, simply because some of it just doesn't end up interesting me (as I mentioned about EliteXC). However, even if I don't watch it, I like that's there's so much activity going on in the sport at large, and sans the money making aspect, more fights is always better. Besides, it's not like anyone is FORCING people to watch; if it becomes a chore, simply don't watch. I just don't see the point in saying there's too many fights going on in a period of time (business aside); either watch them later, or don't watch them at all.

The undercard is weak, but the live portion itself should be good. Cain dropping out sucks, but another part of the problem is that so many of the undercard fighters are relative unknowns, but I've learned to stop simply writing off fighters just because I haven't seen video of them yet. It wasn't long ago since people (myself included) thought Frankie Edgar was just an opponent being brought in to showcase Tyson Griffin against. The overall talent pool of MMA is deepening quickly, so I hold hope that not every unhyped new face they bring in is cannon fodder.

What a bunch of slack-jawed faggots you've all become. "Too much MMA?" Not only is there no such thing that I've found, this sure as hell beats the days when you were forced to (re)watch old, shitty events to fill the gaps in between new cards. Maybe someday MMA will reach the point where boxing is at, where I simply can't be bothered to watch EVERY fucking Telefutura event, but that's still a ways off.

Bobby Lashley makes MMA debut on December 13th...

Well, needless to say, I hope Rashad knocks his head and makes him cry again. But that's enough distraction from Black Lesnar.
