I took the bait in regards to... what, exactly? Being correct? Guilty as charged.

Herring could have been 100% healthy and still had no answer for JOB's sick level changes and fetal alchohol eyes. When has Herring ever shown good takedown D? Heaths been taken down by good wrestlers throughout his career, not to mention the likes of Yamamoto, Imes, Kongo, etc.

Stevenson hump Tibau? Not likely. Gleison is a good wrestler, with strong BJJ and what looked to be improved striking against Tyson. It's actually more likely that Gleison L&P's on Joe, but I'm optimistic that they will trade takedowns enough that neither guy will feel confident enough in simply controlling for a JD.

You honestly think Leben is a better grappler than Bisping? Wrestling is one thing, but Bisping is much more fluid on the mat, both offensively and defensively. -
I imagine the draft order will follow Sherdog's Top Ten pretty closely.

Rogan can hardly be blamed for the fact that with all but the most skilled rubber-guard users... that shits's getting passed. -

I let a lot of Rogan's more asinine shit slide compared to Quadros because he's actually more knowledgeable when it comes to the technical aspects of the fight game, if not always the fighters themselves. -
KENGO vs. Dos Caras, Jr.

Yeah, though only in training, never in active competition.

Yes. At the D.O.G. (now Cage Force) event in Japan. -
Miller is also a so-so striker facing a far superior wrestler and submission artist. Stylistic nightmare right there.

Well, Diaz beats Rani Yahya (6.6 lbs) & Chris Price (7lbs.) in terms of being ridiculously over the weight limit, though he still falls shy of Luigi Fioravanti's completely ludicrous showing against Hidetaka Monma (13.5+lbs). -
Considering that at several points this season they've made sure to point out that Jesse is far from the brightest guy around, and has something of a drinking problem, AND a typical meathead temper... ...I'd say Amir.

As much as me being consistently more right than Rudo makes me a dick-eater. -

I'm surprised you are able to type and eat bag of dicks at the same time. As homophobic as Iron Ring's target audience. Fitting. -

It was Rudo's wildest MMA dreams come true. -
Quick thoughts: - While normally I would easily agree with the Werdum/Vera stoppage, the incosistency of G&P stoppages lately is driving me nuts. Vera may have seen the end of the round using Lauzon's mounted-turtle defense. - While I agree that Marquardt losing based on a questionable point deduction sucks, I think some people are underestimating how much that knee changed the fight when bitching about Leites' performances over the rest of the bout. - It wasn't a great fight, though I honestly can't fault Swick for fighting like he did against Davis. If anything, I'm more peeved at Davis for having no discernable gameplan. - Bisping looked as good as expected, but he's on crack if he thinks his wrestling is anything resmbling good at this point. - Hardonk may have beat Sanchez, but for a striker with no ground game, getting dropped twice by Eddie's loopy punches should put an end to any ideas of him being relevant in the division. - Does Alves beat Hughes even minus the weight issues? Probably. But it's ridiculous to act as though Alves' stature at WW doesn't benefit him a great deal. - Props to Wiman for hanging with Tavares on the mat better than I thought he would, but (apologies to EHME's feelings) his stand-up still sucks. Thiago seemed to be winning the exchanges, but Wiman simply benefitted from being a bigger, stronger guy (a la Maynard/Edgar). I still say he gets beaten up if he tries standing with most LW's in the UFC.

Meant to post this when it came out, but was just reminded of it in light of Alves' latest weight cutting debacle. http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles.asp?n_id=13044

Randleman loses the next good fighter he faces, like usual. -
By not giving a fuck, because you know you can get away with it.

So are YPOV & Ivan Menjivar the only heterosexual Canadians ever, or what?

Actually, they don't have a lot of good fighters, which is part of the reason I don't think they'll maintain a fan base that well, but that's another story. It's not simply the idea of an MMA neophyte, whose street-fighter persona runs opposite of everything MMA has tried to present itself as, being used as the main attraction of several events. How is anyone supposed to take a sport seriously, when the presumably second-most watched promotion also has an overprotected, unprofessional poster-girl with split loyalties? An uneven presentation with an oddly non-fight oriented focus and amateurish time-management? Match-ups picked that were almost certain to focus solely on a single aspect of the fight game, thus losing a large part of the dynamic that makes MMA unique and exciting? And the type of boxing promotor that fans have been claiming is ruining that sport using every lie, misdirection and outright scam around, making it come across as staged as pro wrestling to many pundits and fans? Now I'm not saying the show was Iron Ring-level bad, and a few of the points are admittedly debatable, but I think that on an overall scale your average UFC, WEC, or IFL event would've served to show the sport in a much more favorable light.

Well I never really said I cared about his growth. Then care about the growth of the sport, because Kimbo is going to lead something big for the next few years... hopefully. I honestly don't care about the growth of the sport if it means sacrificing its legitmacy and presenting itself as the brutish psuedo-sport that it's been viewed as by the mainstream for the past decade and a half.

SHOOTO to do away with the long-standing 10 count starting next year.
