Yeah, he kinda out Shalymaned M Night Shalyman. Luckily for us Abrams isn't a one note hack like Shalyman. Anyways I suppose I can now forgive him for the Superman script. I think we need to start calling Sayid "The Professor"... Great line, but would it work as a pickup line?

The thing is that Trump didn't like Raj upon his initial meeting, and once a notion sticks into Trump's head, it doesn't go away.

How Amy Poehler got the Weekend Update gig.

Doesn't Ryerson give you some webspace to play with? -

MLS Expansion = New Candidates for Worst Team Name
starvenger replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Sports
You know, when I think of cities where a soccer team would help evoke nostalgia over a Spanish football club, I think Salt Lake City. Anyways, we've got a United and a Real in MLS now... are they trying to confuse Posh Beckham or something? -
Yeah, we've seen how if Trump gets an idea past his combover and into his head, he sticks with it. Pamela brings Sandy, Stacy and Ivana into the boardroom, and chances are one of those three gets fired instead. So this week, how will the women pull defeat from the fires of victory? Who gets fired: Little Stacy Who gets fired if the men lose (I'm hedging): Raj or Andy.

Actually, you have to be MARGINALLY funny to get on SNL. If you're unfunny you're on Mad TV... -
I have to admit that Sawyer's growing on me. The actor inserts just the right amount of smug smartass into Sawyer to swing that love-hate relationship that the character needs to have with the viewers. I was thinking that at first as well, but the mundane office job, the clothes, the talking with a phone sex girl like it's an actual relationship... this is One Hour Photo taken to an extreme. Basically the crash allowed Locke to reinvent himself into the man he always wanted to become. (This would mean, by the way, that he's actually a bad knife thrower. Unless we're not privy to the scene where he chucks knives at a wooden post) That's what I got out of it, anyways. I think she's a metaphor for the hope that all the survivors have. Hope that others made it out, hope that they will be rescued, hope that nothing bad will happen to them. Based on the teasers for next week, I say she buys it.

Neither did I. It does make some sense though...

wrt Locke's place of employment - was that a little homage to Office Space?

You gotta love a woman who samples everyone's pie. -
Well, if you're still shaking, go to the local comics shop and pick up some old Ka-Zar, Warlord or Turok comics. It should tide you over...

OK, the short, spoilerific version: Alonzo wins, Dave Mordal was second Here's a longer version on Reality News Online, and here's NBC's shitty method of announcing it. Apparently the announcement on the Father of the Pride marathon was to go to the website and look.

Chargers should stick with the powder blue btw...

Eh, I listen to BritPop and watch Power Rangers. I can handle admitting that I watch Joey...

First, if the Page 3 girls aren't topless, then what's the point? Second, how many of them can you cram into a Mini? Third, I would've killed to see a modified Smart Car. With a bunch of topless Page 3 girls crammed in it. That's because Team Angle v2.0 doesn't have Dave, I suppose. Eh, doesn't matter, I'll still be watching Joey and The Apprentice...

I voted NFC West, because with two teams rebuilding, the wacky Mike Martz coaching another, and Seattle - actually, they haven't been bad so far - would YOU want to play for one of those teams? You're on a shitty team in a shitty division. THAT'S gotta be tough.

I'm glad that this isn't preempted by the debate. On the other hand, I'm not getting my CSI: New York fix...

SNL Review- featuring a report of my trip to SNL
starvenger replied to bob_barron's topic in Television & Film
You know, it wasn't funny when Catherine O'Hara did it on SCTV (A rare time when I didn't find something on SCTV to be funny), and I can't see it getting funnier now... -
Pure brilliance. And may I take this time to point out that "The Biggest Loser" is idiotic? Apparently, the person who loses the least amount of weight each week is eliminated. Somehow, that seems to miss the entire point of trying to lose weight and get fit....

Frank Caliendo. And he's on the Fox NFL broadcasts as well.

Didn't make it past Patti LaBelle. When the parody ad is the best thing going in the first half hour, you're in trouble. Affleck and the season opener was miles better, even with Debbie Downer in there...

Yep, Yahoo has the extended boardrooms as well as footage that doesn't appear on either night. This week's is basically the men (mainly Raj) telling the women what they think of Pamela and then Liz going to talk to Pamela for a bit while she's out sunbathing or something. Whether Raj was telling the truth or scared that the women came so close this time is anyone's guess. I think it's the latter. The women were a mess, Pamela actually got them organized, and now that she's gone they'll be a mess until the Reshuffle. Carolyn's starting to piss me off because despite all of her insights on the tasks and whatnot, she still acts like a yes woman when Trump looks for approval on a firing. It's pretty obvious that George wasn't happy with at least a couple of firings, and you can see it on his face. Not surprising at all, considering that Survivor's Tribal Council runs about the same as well. I'm sure that we miss a lot of hedging. But in this case the reason for the firing was fairly clear. Pamela set the price point, and failed to make a good case against either Maria or Stacy. Looking back at this, Trump seemed to be looking for a reason not to fire her. But he did, and he's starting to look like a tool for firing the wrong person 3 out of 4 times from Apex...

Tampa vs Nawlins'. A couple of parlay giants, we are... I'm 1-3 as well dude. We'll probably tie or something. Cleveland at Pittsburgh (6.5) Detroit at Atlanta (7.5) Miami at New England (12.5) (4.5) Minnesota at Houston N.Y. Giants at Dallas (1.5) Oakland at Indianapolis (9.5) Tampa Bay at New Orleans (3.5) Buffalo at N.Y. Jets (7.5) (3.5) Jacksonville at San Diego (2.5) Arizona at San Francisco Carolina at Denver (5.5) St. Louis at Seattle (7.5) (3.5) Baltimore at Washington Tennessee at Green Bay (3.5) With Chris Simms in (and probably going pass-wacky), I'm upping my TB to 18...

ILM, without question. All these FX houses, that worked on things like Lord of the Rings and The Matrix, owe at least a bit of gratitude to ILM for leading the way.
