    The Amazing Race: All-Star Edition

He'd mentally checked out, so hopefully his Acapulco vacation was more relaxing. Love David and Mary (the fact that they're wearing the Ts the Chos had last race is gold), but as I've been saying, they don't belong in an "all star" edition. The only thing I have against Eric and Danielle is that Eric is the smart one on that team. That can't be a good thing... Romber is still doing really well. It's gonna take some dumb luck to eliminate them. The same probably goes for the Cha Chas, who I think people underestimate because they're not exactly manly men. Mirna somehow managed to go 1 leg without pissing me off, but this leg she really got to me. I hate her fucking fake "local" accents. I hate her constant whining. I hate that she's so fucking hypocritical when it comes to following people, and people following her. Charla's main drawback is that she's got her blork of a cousin with her.

    Heroes

It was on? A hearty Fuck You to Global for being so consistently inconsistent. Thankfully, I've got StarChoice, so I can use timeshifting to watch both 24 and Heroes as usual...

    Heroes

I think that with Sylar, the powers are always "on", but it's only with this last case that he's been unable to control it. Well, it's not like they haven't borrowed liberally from comics - Claude "training" Peter being probably the most recent example. Might as well take stuff from the cartoon as well. Anyway, I think that Suresh is simply talking like a scientist - lots of cans and will try tos, but he's got nuthin' at this point but a hypothesis.

I was kinda hoping for "Infinite House of Civil Crisis", myself...

    Heroes

Yeah, Simone's death won't exactly rock your world based on announcer guy's hype, but when does that ever meet expectations? Still, I felt bad about that death more than any of the 5 major deaths in Lost...

    The Amazing Race: All-Star Edition

That never works, either. Several teams tried that in season 3 with Derek and Drew (the infamous twinhunt). The twins finished higher than any of those teams involved. Ironically, John Vito and Jill were involved in that season. Also ironically, Romber hasn't actually done anything Boston Rob-ish yet...

    The Amazing Race: All-Star Edition

You're underestimating a lot of teams there (as far as a weak lineup goes). Aside from David and Mary and JVJ, none of the teams finished lower than fourth. As for the "All Star" tag... well, they weren't exactly All Stars for Survivor and Big Brother either. Fitting for "reality" TV, I suppose. I might as well note that we've already got our analyses up for this episode over at Reality Dish. I promise that (aside from my sig) this will be the only time I'll plug the site in this thread.

    The Condemned

When Vinnie Jones is your best actor and it's not even close... I don't know what that says. Good production on the trailer though.

    Ghost Rider

The Toronto Star guy saw a preview, but said that it was about as last minute as you could get. Reading the review, I basically got the same feeling that I got after watching Daredevil - that Mark Steven Johnson is a hack writer slash director, and despite his alleged love of comics, should never be let near a comics property again.

    Joe Rogan vs. Carlos Mencia

It seems to me it was more a case of taking things seriously at the right times. He wasn't afraid to lean on the contestants if they were close to quitting or things of that sort. Anyway, since he's currently agentless, he should be careful. Sleazy D will probably try to renegotiate his UFC contract so that he's making minimum wage or something.

    Joe Rogan vs. Carlos Mencia

He went from half naked women with gravity-defying racks to half-naked men beating the piss out of each other. I'll be honest - I'd want to be back on The Man Show. Although, if you could find a way to put the two together... well, you'd have some of the minor league MMA events, I guess.

    Joe Rogan vs. Carlos Mencia

He hosted fear factor, but the fact is I dont think they are doing new shows anymore although I dont think it was officially cancelled. The show will live on in reruns though. Fact is, hes a terrible comic and was able to make a living over the last 6 years or so doing that show and now that FF is done..well.. Now that FF is done he pretty much does commentary for UFC broadcasts, and hosts the "Inside the UFC" show. If your standup career consists of stealing funny bits from other comedians, you'd better be at least somewhat funny. BTW, Rogan was right. "Carlos Mencia's" real name is Ned Arnel Holness - his dad is German...

    Joe Rogan vs. Carlos Mencia

I would've paid to see Joe choke him out. It's kinda funny how once Rogan gets a live mic, Mencia's verbal output goes waaaaaay down...

It sounds like a JoJo song but in a lower register. Nothing special, really.

    Marvel's Civil War

Are there more besides this one and the issue where Goliath died? Wasn't Chris Bird part of the IWC at some point? The name sounds familiar. Or maybe I'm confusing the IWC with the Internet Comics Community...

Isn't Kampmann a kickboxer by trade?

True, but the fact is - he's already dead. So it's plausible, even if it's unlikely.

    24 - Season 6

You know, the Presidents in the 24-verse have to stop hiring people who would jump at the chance of kicking them out of office to take power...

    Heroes

Well, let's see. Claire and Peter could die, but obviously they wouldn't stay dead. Parkman had his "near death" experience, so he's out. Hiro dying would cause some sort of disruption in the timestream or something... and would anyone care if DL, Micah, Simone or Inferno woman died? So breaking it down... Niki/Jessica - definite possibility here. Of course, this is just as things get interesting with her character Nathan - I just see this as likely. In the future Hiro jumps to, Nathan wins the election. If Nathan dies, then that future is gone, and Hiro will have no idea what to do next. Although, I have heard about people losing elections to dead people, so... yeah. Isaac - Well, he does get his head opened up at some point. This would pretty much be the opposite effect of killing Nathan H.R.G. - I just don't see it. The Haitian - Just not enough time spent on the character to make us care if he dies. Sylar - That would be like saying "yeah, we don't know where we're headed" Claude - not shocking or anything, but it would probably fuck Peter up somewhat. Ando - Similar to Claude, except it would fuck up Hiro, and we have more of an emotional attachment to him. Anyways, with this week's show, were Hiro and Ando back in the Montecito?

    Out of Sight

Kind of a shame about the series. Carla Gugino, Robert Forster and Bill Duke make for a pretty good cast.

    Out of Sight

I don't know that the movie led to Karen Sisco. It seems to me that Danny Devito was trying to get a successful Elmore Leonard project onto television more than anything. Anyways, Carla Gugino was about 100x hotter as Sisco, it was a nice touch with Keaton reprising his Ray Nicolet role, and one of three good Leonard adaptations out there. The funny thing about this is that Ocean's 11 feels more in tune with Get Shorty and Jackie Brown than Out of Sight. Speaking of Get Shorty, I still can't believe how much Be Cool blew. The writers and director totally didn't get what Leonard was doing with that novel (well, aside from a blatant cash grab). Here's to hoping Tishimongo Blues will be much better.

Watching the women's fight right now. They're showing this on Fight Network up here... but the wife doesn't like watching MMA, so this might be the only fight I see...

    Marvel's Civil War

I refuse to call something "best onging series" if it doesn't come out on time. I admire Millar's loyalty to Hitch, but the truth is that Hitch is a glorified Alan Davis clone (artistically, that is) so if he can't handle a monthly, dump him and get Alan Davis. I'd actually call Nextwave the best ongoing, except that it's more or less a maxiseries, so let's give the title to X-Factor.

    Marvel's Civil War

Don't forget about Clor. I'm still having trouble getting my mind around Reed and Tony thinking that cloning a God (albeit a mortal one) was a good idea...
