Is there such a thing as a buttervoice? Because that pretty much describes Danielle...
-
Three words: Because they're stupid. Cirie was not chosen for this game because she's a physical threat. She's smarter than she lets on, and has been utilizing the Sandra Diaz-Twine "cover your ass" strategy to perfection so far. Terry's the alpha dog here. In his alliance, Dan's the weak link, so why not keep the Mile High Club intact through to the final two? Amazingly, yes, the outdoors 'expert' said that it'd work. Hey, if Miyagi say it work, it work. Also, I don't know how, but Sally makes the knee socks + bikini work.

Both she and Ace were in Men's Health or Men's Fitness recently...

Ultimate Fight Night IV lineup so far
starvenger replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Better trainer than fighter, I suppose. Isn't Rafferty a trainer as well? -
The thing is that you're voting FOR a singer, not against one. And with Patrick leading off the night and having a forgettable performance... well, people forgot about him. Bobby and Stevie were no-brainers. I actually gave Bobby a 0. Becky was surprising, but like you said she was going before the final 12 anyways, so no biggie.

Well, I was out last night, so I'm watching the thing on tape this morning...
-
Well, there's the matter of knowing what direction you want to take. I think Kelly and her management team had a good idea of what to do, and adjusted accordingly.
-
Both true. Although I find it funny that he got kicked off the week he sang a Nickelback song badly. I didn't think that was possible. Singing Nickelback badly that is.
-
I believe it's a requirement for reality show threads here.

I want to say Filipino, his mother looked pretty damn Southeast Asian to me. (I lived in the Phillipines for over 3 years) I didn't see his mother, but you do have a point - Jose has the nose.
-
After going through the performances again I'm changing my elimination picks from Stevie/Melissa to Stevie/Heather. And is Jose Hispanic or Filipino?
-
She probably did it listening to KCi and JoJo (her cousins) too. How's that for disturbing?
-
The fact that Stevie bailed on the "Star Search moments" should seal the deal. I also think that Brenna will be bottom three, but the skank vote should save her.

Singing: 1. Mandisa 2. Paris 3. Kinnick 4. Katherine 5. Lisa 6. Ayla 7. Becky 8. Melissa 9. Stevie 10. Brenna 11. Heather 12. Trailer Park Kellie The gap between the top 6 and the bottom 6 is ridiculous. However, the judges pushed HARD for Heather (edit: oops, no they didn't. But she's cute) and Kellie, and Brenna skanked it up, so my prediction for bottom two are: Stevie and Melissa

Two male and two female singers get the boot each week for the next three weeks. And this is what I know of the females - Becky and Brenna look pretty hot. Katherine is most likely to showcase her boobs. Kellie is the one we'll in all likelihood be calling "Trailer Park Girl". And Paris has an awesome voice, but I don't think she'll run the table.

My point is that the Season Three "Finalists" were dominated by personalities, not singers, and the new elimination process should've (in theory) turfed them out before they got to the Top Twelve. And I mean pretty much all of them.

Clay Aiken and Carrie Underwhelm have sold pretty well if I recall. But you're right. Winning "American Idol" gets your foot in the door. You need to work hard if you want to have staying power in the music industry, and so far only Clarkson has done that. I'm just the opposite. But that may be because I get annoyed with auditioners throwing runs into every part of their songs and thinking "that's what makes a good singer". Also, I think that tolerating karaoke is genetic for me.
-
I hate the audition portion of the show. The performace portion, however, sucks me in every year. And the new format works better because it weeds out some of the poorer performers. Too bad they didn't have that for Season Three...

Take another look at that match. The only reason the powerbomb happened is because Hughes was out.
-
Exactly. Hughes-Newton I (sorry, should've specified) is an example of a "questionable" win. The other two were improbable wins.
-
I see this going the way of TeamTennis. Still, Shamus is good at hype (remember the comics boom in the 90's? You can partially credit/blame him for that) so we'll just have to wait and see.

Sucks for the guy who agreed to fight under rules which utilized a technique he didn't avoid. It does suck, but does it truly establish who is the better fighter? Hard to say. As you note, it can determine which fighter is better able to make use of the rules, but that doesn't necessarily make them the better fighter. Hughes-Newton, Fickett-Koschek and Irwin-Martin come to mind...

So that would make him the really shitty Alan Rickman as far as Eurotrash villains go? Well you knew there had to be more to it than "Lynn can't even control his crazy druggie sister, so how can he control CTU", right?
-
Laughing all the way to the bank, he is. Given the Conan cameo on the last new episode, I wouldn't be surprised if they did just that.

Thoughts on the Following Fighters
starvenger replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Yeah, I don't think he's exactly in it for the legacy anymore. It's all about the paycheck now.
