    Thoughts on the Following Fighters

Mark Coleman - Very impressed that he went from also-ran to Pride Grand Prix champion. IIRC, he was one of the early virtuosos of GnP. Frank Shamrock - I'd love to see how he'd stand up to todays MMA fighters. Pat Miletich - Is he retired? If so, then he made a smart career move. I never really saw Militech himself as a great fighter, but as head of Militech Fighting Systems, he elevates himself without actually having to fight. Jens Pulver - I'll be honest, I haven't seen a Pulver fight yet. Andrei Arlovski - ditto Chuck Liddell - He's come a long way from being the guy who'd just punch the shit out of you. Nice to see him as champ. Rich Franklin - I think that Ace has a chance to dominate the UFC Middleweight division for a while. Of course, it'd help if the UFC could find some challengers that a) aren't boring, and b) don't fail drug tests. But luckily TUF 1 produced some "name" fighters that the UFC can use until they find a good contender. I mean, a chance to watch Ace knock Fratboy Leben into next week? Money. Matt Hughes - Freak of nature, and the champ that arguably has the toughest road ahead of him, given the contenders in his division. GSP, Karo, Sanchez, even Crybaby Diaz vs Hughes would produce some sweet matches. I would like to see Hughes-Trigg III though. You never can see enough of Twinkletoes getting choked out.

    Survivor: Guatemala

Ideally, "I played the game" SHOULD have more weight than it does during final TC, but it tends to yield to emotion and people should realize that you need to play to that while emphasizing your gameplay during the Q&A session. Danni did it very well. Steph, well, she wasn't Katie-level (you'd be hard pressed to find someone who blew Q&A as badly as she did in Palau) but she was a bull in a china shop compared to Danni.

Given that Danni was a Miss USA runnerup, you'd hope she'd learned how to properly use makeup. Steph really does look better without makeup. I wish she wouldn't wear so much. She seemed to wear a lot even on The Early Show, whereas Danni didn't wear too much and still looked good. I'm not sure what you're talking about, Danni played a great game. She was pulling the strings on her tribe (per Brian) until the merge, where she bided her time and made the right moves at the right times. Like Rafe, she let someone else be the bad cop, and stayed out of things until she saw opportunities. A good game, and I'd say she's about the fifth best winner overall.

    Survivor: Guatemala

It's hard to say. I imagine Cindy realised that her chances of winning were slim and a guaranteed car would be better than giving it up and risking walking away from the game with nothing. If she had given up the cars, she *might* have made it to the final four, but even that I don't think was guaranteed. They did consider her a physical threat, and look how quickly Stephanie voted out Judd after he shared several rewards with her. And even if she did make it to the final four (or three) only to get voted out, it would have all been for naught (while useless players like Lydia got the car that Cindy rightfully won). That's pretty much my thought. Giving others a car earns you gratitutde, but it does NOT guarantee that you won't get voted out. With only five people left, you're going to vote off the strongest threat to your winning the million, and for all four people, that was Cindy. Well, actually, it's Rafe, but he's pulling the strings right now, so that wasn't going to happen. As for Rafe saying that there was no way he would have voted for her, you have to remember that the point was moot, so he was only thinking emotionally, not strategically.

The Rock On Dancing With The Stars??

Would the Joe Casual Viewer even know who Evan Karagias is? And isn't there a possibility that it's a female wrestler?

Looked like they're heading to Niagara Falls, and that they were running through Pearson Airport in Toronto.

    SUPERMAN

That was pretty much the breaking point for me as far as visiting AICN went. As it stands, "Unbreakable" is probably his best movie so, yeah, I can see him doing a good job. The only problem I see is that Shyamalan has stereotyped himself as "the guy who puts a twist in all his movies" so for me, it's hard to see him doing anything else. Looking back waaaaaay at the beginning of the article, wasn't Cannon the company that kinda sorta held the rights to Spider-Man?

    Survivor: Guatemala

The Sandra strategy would imply that Lydia at least recognizes her position as eternal swing voter and is willing to advance her position by any means necessary. Lydia has been dead weight for a while and is likely to be cut loose next Thursday unless she pulls off an immunity. For this season, "nice" could play a large part in voting for the winner so you might as well get rid of the nicest person and duke it out with the people that are "playing the game".

    X-Men 3 Pictures/Preview

First, it's hard to recognize Grammer in there. Second, the mutant in the second picture is damn ugly...

He'll probably just have to censor himself, Bernie Mac style. Here's some photos. Mostly professional ones. And probably 6-8 years ago at that.

    Apprentice thread

To be honest, I think Randall has to screw up, Jennifer Massey style, to not get the job. At this point it's not about who's better job-wise, but who would make better PR for Trump. And he's already hired a woman.

nl5xsk1, you scumbag, I don't understand what the damn deal is about that, man. Judd just says every damn thing like it damn well is, man. Unlike those scumbags left in the competition, man. All I can say is, man, I'm damn sure ready to hear what Judd has to say about those damn scumbags, man. Man, I'm gonna miss having that damn scumbag around next week. Yep. Danni's going to look hot a week from Sunday, since she'll have eaten at that point. Steph... not so much. I think we've seen that Steph looks better without makeup.

    My Name Is Earl

In a sense, it's a return to the traditional "Must See TV" format. Not to mention that they're afraid that House will take some of their ratings share due to the return of 'American Idol'. So much so that they're willing to put it up against 'CSI'. Bottom line, if 'Earl' manages to maintain the ratings level it's gotten on Tuesdays, then it's all good.

The Van Damme gif frightens me... Not to mention the Paris Hilton one where it's a montage of pictures, but her facial expressions never change...

The Amazing Race: Family Edition Thread

Second time it's happened this season. So I hope the cameramen have learned that perhaps it's not smart to charge the camera batteries when the car is turned off Well, he's probably the only one of the Weavers without a record at this point. It's funny how at one point I had hopes that Rolly would turn out nice, but well, I guess that's not happening.

    Oh, Canada

Not true. They'll probably also play the "we're not Belinda" card in the GTA. For all the good it'll do them. I wouldn't be surprised to see them gain 1 or 2 seats in York Region (Aurora and my new riding of Markham, which doesn't seem to like incumbents) though, which probably won't offset their losses in BC I think. Of course it is, but it does lead to the possibility of more of those unintentionally hilarious Harper/Tory TV ads.

    Prison Break

Can't say I'm looking forward to waiting 6 months to see how this ends up. Fox Network sucks. First AD is (almost) cancelled, now this. And there isn't even Jack Bauer to tide us through December...
