I would buy into the argument that the Republic is not good - after all, Palpatine is able to gain control of it. But that doesn't necessarily mean that the Empire is good.

Is is controversy, or more like he's getting ribbed mercilessly? Having read all this, I think I need to watch that DVD.

You have to search around the official site to look for the Q&A section, which answers quite a lot, actually. Of course, last time I checked, the navigation on the site sucked, so you may have trouble finding what you want. -
probably a good call there. I'll likely dl it.

34 points is all that separated the two. That practically makes them co-MVPs. Although it doesn't, really. Anyways, there's no way that you can say that Nash is undeserving of the title. Shaq, equally so, but I think he's used to the NBA writers taking him for granted not giving him the MVP award. So congrats to Captain Canada for being the second shortest MVP ever...

Because they nearly went bankrupt a few years ago. They need all they can get. Nobody buy comics anymore. Despite the massive success of the X-Men and Spider-Man movies is has meant little to the comic book sales. Partially true. The movies and merchandise sales have definitely helped Marvel's bottom line, but people still buy comics. They just don't go apeshit over every single new comic that comes out like they did in the 90s. As for new readers, I never bought into the logic that people would buy comics just because they liked the movies. That's like expecting everyone who watches Star Wars or Star Trek to buy the novels. The way I see it, if you want to get somebody to start reading comics, you need to drag them into a store or a convention to see what it's all about, and let them decide for themselves.

I watched Clone Wars Season One on a plane the two weeks ago. Kickass stuff. -
Yeah. Gregg thought he could be a Brian or a Boston Rob. Instead he's a Nurse John or a Burton.

DDK didn't make it? It's RACISM I tell ya (if you ignore that Zhang Ziyi and Sandra Oh (beautiful? wtf?) made the list). Actually, the fact that Mariska Hagritay, Jessica Alba, Zhang Ziyi, Sienna Miller and Maria Sharapova all made the list gets a thumbs up from me. Even if Julia Roberts is on there.

Maybe it's just me, but I could care less about the Lakers or the Knicks. If they're playing each other and it's on TV, I switch the channel. Didn't watch the show (went out for my mom's birthday - 10 course diet killing Chinese banquet) but all I can say is that I'm not surprised at the final two in the least. It's almost like he had this in mind from the beginning. As for the returning candidates, I'm not surprised either. He got abrasive people from Net Worth, and the unreliable people from Magna - and he got his teacher's pets from either side. One more show (I think) to go, and thank goodness for that. This season has been the worst by far.

A little arrogance, sure, but Scott had a whole heaping helping of arrogance on Tuesday, so it was a bit much for me...

Nia Peeples? Kidding about that one. I'd say Deborah Gibson, since she did American Juniors.

Eh, he's still better than the OVW "hosses" they've brought up. And he'd probably be more over than Rhyno, too. Not that that's saying much... -
I am pretty sure that Shatner was hamming it up on purpose. He is GOLD as Denny Craine. He couldn't have been trying in Star Trek. Well, someone will need to check out T.J. Hooker so that we know for sure. You're probably right though - Shatner for the most part is playing a chariacture of himself these days.

As I understand it C(SI)BS is clearly in the driver's seat, with the other three all within .2 or something of each other.

He does indeed write Ultimate Iron Man. I thought that it's kinda weird how he only talks about the original series in his essay. But I think his point there is that science fiction is not just about stories in space, and that is the Hollywood perception of it. Hence the mention of Firefly, since it is set in space. I'm sure that Abrams never pitched it as such, because if he did we'd be watching the series at 8pm Saturday. But Card probably sees all the elements of sci-fi in there, so I suppose it's in the eye of the beholder.

btw, I have to ask - where's Elton John at this year to complain about the lack of black singers in the final 5? I mean, last year there was 2 black ladies, an Asian/Polynesian girl and two white kids, and Elton was whining about it. This year, you've got Vonzell. That's it. So why isn't Sir Elton complaining? Was he just that much of a Jennifer Hudson fan? Or was he hopping on the anti-John Stevens bandwagon?

It was just awesome. Guess the Lord said "OK, enough with this arrogance bullshit" and had him kicked out.

The cameras may have something to do with it. Maybe. Still, guys like Lex shoulda known better...

BTW, here were my pre-match predictions. As usual, I'm way off: 11 - Megan and Heidi (Actual: 10) 10 - Susan and Patrick (Actual: 8) 9 - Uchenna and Joyce (Actual: Final 3. At least I was right about liking them) 8 - Debbie and Bianca (Actual: 9. Damn shame to see these two go) 7 - Meredith and Gretchen (Actual: 4. In-fucking-credible) 6 - Ron and Kelly (Actual: Final 3. Not exactly Kris and Jon though) 5 - Ryan and Chuck (Actual: 11. Probably the biggest surprise of the show) 4 - Ray and Deanna (Actual: 7. I fear for their children) 3 - Lynn and Alex (Actual: 5. Too gay, and way too obsessed with Boston Rob when it was obvious that he could care less about these two) 2 - Rob and Amber (Actual: Final 3. Hey, I could still nail this one) 1 - Brian and Greg (Actual: 6. At least they went out in style) Man, I suck.
-
Actually he really only kidnapped kids on the elephant task <insert child labour joke here>. Everyone else either volunteered their services or agreed when Rob asked. Honestly, I've no idea how the guy gets other people to do what he wants. Neleh and Pappy are quite possibly the only two people we've seen that have failed to be swayed by Rob...

Dude, it's a WRESTLING message board... -
I agree. But this was ABC's decision, and if any network knows how to fuck up a hot show, it's ABC.

What about wet Kate and Shannon?

Scott's outta here!! <Kevin points to the sky, thanks Jesus>
