One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread
starvenger replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
Well, The Bounty Hunter Wars manages to stretch his escape from the Sarlaac for three books. It's boring and EU fans like me wish it never existed. Purists like Kotz are lucky they don't read crap like that. Anyways, other books/RPGs/comics/whatever make Fett look like Wolverine when it comes to escaping - basically, people thought he was dead, but he got better. -
I think going to the couch is a swerve...
-
Man, Sayid didn't even raise his voice or sound anything other than calm and I'm kinda frightened for Locke...
-
I'm thinking that either he's still under the weather or he's got some "personal demons"...
-
Looks like my first choice was right...

Oh, TAG. I thought <insert episode of Firefly> was the greatest episode of television ever? -
btw, I just noticed - Locke's scar matches Anakin Skywalker's in the new Star Wars movie. Coincidence, I'm sure, but funny-weird...
-
No, Jack knows, but he doesn't seem to care. btw, there were some hot castaway extras during the eulogy, eh?
-
Yeah, Rob is a bit of a jerk, but you gotta admit that he knows how to Race.

Anyone watch the Mirror Universe episodes...

Watching part 1 right now. I'm enjoying slutty Hoshi and slave girl T'Pol... Also, is it me, or does Mayweather look like Lamar Latrell? -
Win: Uchenna and Joyce Place: Romber Show: Ron and Kelly
-
WOW...those are some really bad nicknames. Yeah. Leave the bad nicknaming to me.
-
How about chugging every time Kelly was petty about something?

I think that they do get to travel as a "phantom" team to throw off spoilers.

I know what you mean. We saw a lot of those places, although we didn't visit many of them (I was only there for the weekend).
-
Ah, London. I've fond memories of that place. I wonder if they head to Toronto next week - I saw the CN Tower in the credits...

Sergei's problem lied more with the fact that he can't sing 5 parts than anything. Give him some backing vox, and it's cool. Carrie did okay, I guess. Didn't know the song either.
-
No, I meant that the motive is there, but Shannon herself wouldn't... oh wait, she'd just get Sayid to do it. Nevermind. I change my choice to the old woman then.

Vonzell - Pretty good, and sneaky to use the Idols' charity song. Harold - A little flat, but his song selection really worked for him - a slow song when the others did fast ones, and an upbeat one when the others did slow ones.
-
She needs to do more BUTT wiggling, just because. Sergei - Good solo rendition of a group song. It took awhile for me to realize that it was the new Backstreet Boys song. Heavy D - This time, I had no fucking clue what he was singing. That, however, isn't Savol's fault, though. Still, that just sucked. Add in the cockiness factor, and this may be the last we see of Scott "Gator" Savol...
-
What about Sticks? She'd also be pretty unlikely to take on Locke...
-
OK, song #1 is done, and my quick-hit thoughts: Sergei - Not very good. Basically it was what you might expect when a white guy sings Motown. (see Boone, Pat) Cop Killa - Probably his best performance yet. I didn't feel like puking, so that's probably a good sign. Vonzell - I dunno, I just didn't get it. Harold - Best performance of the five. Nailed it by using a bit of the Beatles version, I think. Carrie - Almost as good as Bo. She seemed stiff at the beginning, but then she kicked the mic stand and it was all good.

If you're thinking about the plots centering around Sisko's wife, I agree with you. I think Sisko got to bag Jadzia in one of those though, so it's not all bad there. You're probably thinking of the season 7 one as well, with Evil Lesbian Ezri. On the whole though, much better than any episode of Voyager, so no biggie. -

All the Mirror Universe eps seem to be pretty good. The DS9 ones were always pretty inspired. Even the non-continuity TNG novel was pretty decent, and I really can't say that about most of the Trek novels... -
If you're an ex-President, "President" becomes an honourary, so he's President Palmer for the rest of his life...
