I think what Dusty said about Baby Doll that was bleeped out was this... "Last week, you asked me is that your horse outside? I said, no that was your ass and I'm not gonna ride that either!"

I think it was one of the untaped matches, too.

Watched the newest NWA episode. Short but very good segment with a lot of big stuff happening. The Rock N Roll's are the new tag team champions and Nikita is the new U.S. Champion. We see footage of both, including Magnum piledriving Ivan on the concrete. We also see footage of Baby Doll betraying Dusty and joining up with Flair, leading Dusty to call her something on TV that got beeped out. I thought she betrayed Dusty much later on and it's interesting she turned heel again coming off of the red-hot Cornette feud.

It's most likely the Challenge match but Lawler did wrestle and beat Owen for the USWA Championship that same year.

    Joey Styles JKO's JBL overseas

I wish I could take credit for this but someone on the Wrestlecrap boards came up with a new meaning for "JBL." It now stands for... Joey's Bitch Layfield I can imagine Vince not being happy with the fact that one of his biggest stars was punked out by a little announcer. On a personal level though, I'm sure McMahon's respect for Styles went up considerably because Vince gets off on that kind of thing. Karma is a bitch. JBL has been doing this crap for years and eventually, someone was going to stand up to him. He's gotten away with his behavior because McMahon approves of it. McMahon seems to forget that the WWE is a publicly-traded company and that if JBL had pulled this kind of crap in any other company, he would be fired and the WWE would be facing yet another lawsuit. Good for Joey Styles for standing up to himself and knocking JBL off his high horse. "JO-EY'S GONNA KILL YOU."

There is a Rockers vs Arn and Tully match-up on that card and you can never go wrong with that pairing.

Good God, that's a stacked DVD. You have Hogan's cage matches against the Bossman and Orndorff, you have lots of Savage (including the heel-vs-heel match against Jake and the one against Bret), you have matches that set up storylines, you have a Rockers vs Brainbusters match...you have almost everything!

    Monday Night Wars

Weird that Hart wasn't in person on what turned out to be his last Raw. Good show. Although HBK could be heard calling spots, I liked his match with Shamrock a lot. -Michaels mocking Hogan by proclaiming himself the wrestling god only to be cut off by HHH was funny. I remember at the time, Hogan and HBK were referring to each other (not by name of course) when they would call themselves the best in wrestling and such. It went on for about 2-3 weeks with this ending it. -Watching Bulldog and Vader wrestle each other reminded me that these guys had a main event program in WCW four years earlier. Bulldog would be gone from the WWF shortly thereafter and Vader would begin his transformation from "The Man Called Vader" to "The Man Called Jobber." -I liked the Mankind/Kane segment.

WWF Survivor Series 1991 & This Tuesday In Texas

The Savage/Roberts match was way too short but it was more than made up for with the post-match stuff, which lasted about twenty minutes. Savage sounded a lot like Roberts (his voice) during the promo and was awesome like Roberts.

The Orndorff HOF profile was pretty good. They showed when him and Piper broke up. Good segment but God...between Piper's kilt and goofy behavior and Orndorff's booty shorts, those two gave off serious homoerotic undercurrents.

The best part of Roberts interview is his creepy... "Randy, I'm begging you please, bring her back. Let me touch her again!"

All you need was Flair to utter "Say hello to my little....whoooooo...friend!" Just finished watching it. Real good show. The highlight is we get to see footage of Flair reclaiming the title from Dusty Rhodes. Didn't know if any footage existed. Watching it, I have to say Magnum TA is the most useless friend a guy can have. He waits until several minutes after Flair hits Dusty in the leg with a chair to come down to ringside, doesn't bother alerting the referee to the fact that Flair used the ropes, and doesn't even run in to save Dusty's title. Dusty probably wouldn't have wanted to retain the title that way but damn, a friend helps a friend cheat! One odd point in the match is Flair seemed willing to take a count-out win, despite the fact the title wouldn't change hands. You know, I think there is a logic flaw with the champion retaining the belt on a DQ or count-out. No matter how noble the good guy is, who could really resist taking a cheap way out to save the title? Everything else was good, with highlights from the Magnum/Nikita series, the Rock N Roll Express, and Jim Cornette doing commentary. That got me thinking...could you imagine a feud between Roddy Piper and Jim Cornette? I don't think a wrestling promotion could contain those two.

    Primetime Disscussion Thread

Watched the new TNT episode. A lot of time was spent building the new feud between Hogan and Orndorff. I say Hogan hit him intentionally. Some good lines by Heenan and Okerlund along the way and Lanny Poffo We also get an appearance by Harley Race. Although he's not acknowledged as a former NWA World Champion, Okerlund puts him over as a great competitior and one of the famous names in the sport. Lord Alfred Hayes makes reference to going to Kansas City to challenge Harley in 1976. Not one of Harley's better interview segment but having gotten to see more of Harley Race on 24/7 and various DVDs, I have to say that he reeked all kinds of awesome. Great worker, legit tough guy, who cut realistic promos. Him and Tito Santana are two of my favorite "24/7" wrestlers.

Yeah, Flair kept cutting him off whenever he would bring up something about stuff that happened recently. Just more bitterness of the new era I guess.

I agree that Prime Time was very good. -We finally get a reference to the Survivor Series at the beginning of the show. -The Jumping Bomb Angels vs The Glamour Girls is another awesome match and their style still holds up today. Got to love the fact that the match actually ended in a powerbomb. -I don't remember the Demolition vs Haynes and Patera feud. Must have been a very short-lived program. Love Ventura's line that Patera "must think he's back in Cell Block C." -Heenan and Monsoon were great as always, with both getting off some great lines.

    The OAO WWE DVD Thread

I really have to question the format on this DVD. Having Todd Grisham on camera while clips of the various IC champions are in a small box was dumb. Bad enough I have to listen to Grisham, I have to look at him too. I was very pleased the Warrior/Rude match turned out to be the far superior Summerslam rematch. One funny thing I noticed is when the Nation of Domination beats up on Austin, Ron Simmons is no even landing his punches on Austin. It's not one or two...it's like 6-7 air punches. Funny.

    WWE.com Legacy

For the record, Brawler did NOT compete in a dark match at WrestleMania III - he's getting confused with WrestleMania VI as he's mentioned the same thing before in a previous WWE.com article (I've had this clarified by a few people who attended WM3) The Brawler vs Paul Roma in the dark match of Wrestlemania VI with Shane McMahon as referee.

I understand the point you're making here, but I've mentioned this before - just about every bit of language censorship on MNW episodes aired so far was originally put there by the USA Network based on old recaps I've read. We'll find out for sure when Austin and Rock start cutting their interviews. If they're being beeped, then it's the WWE for sure that's censoring them.

    Legends Programming

Just finished watching the new Legends program and I really enjoyed it. They did get off track a number of times but overall, fascinating conversation. -Flair indeed does come off like a bitter prick. He can't admit the success of the Monday Night era and is insanely jealous of Hall and Nash. Get the hell over it. They made WCW numer one...not you. It's a laugh that he criticizes guys for leaving the WWF to get more money. There are no unions or guarenteed contracts in the business. It's every man for himself and he should know that. He goes off on those guys for not being loyal to the company who made him. Just how did he repay Vince for that great sendoff? By becoming a goodwill ambassador for the company and then promptly leaving that role to chase more money on the independent story. -The censoring of the language is really annoying me. "Ass" and "pissed" gets beeped out. It's really ridiciolous. I know they're all "family friendly" now but I've said this countless times, WWE 24/7 Classics is a channel that caters to the older fan. It's not a young person's network. The fact that I'm paying over $80 a year to watch heavily censored WWE Monday Night War footage is absolutely ridiciolous. -There's been a longstanding rumor that Shawn Michaels didn't want to drop the title to Steve Austin at WM14. The story goes that the Undertaker approached him and told him that if he didn't, he would beat the living crap out of him. Supposedly, he waited in the back during the title match with his fists taped in case Michaels backed out. This story has never been confirmed but JR says at the end of this program that there was a lot of drama involving this main event "with Shawn's back, with Shawn's bad attitude" so it makes me wonder if the Taker story is true now.

Sounds like Bobby Petrino, the former coach of the Falcons. After being hired and having a lousy season 13 games in, he told the owner of the Falcons, Arthur Blank, that he was "his guy" and that he would remain coach of the Falcons. Blank then had a press conference where he mentioned this and the next day, Petrino flew down to Arkansas to take over the job of head coach. That was a real chicken**** thing for him to do. If Luger did this, then it was just as much of a chicken**** thing to do.

I think he is a sad man living a sad life. He's a sixty-year-old man who acts like he's twenty who has pissed off all his money, can't stay married, and is now making a living whoring himself on the independent circuit. Why would anyone criticize Hall and Nash for leaving the WWF in the mid-90s? Ignoring the fact that it led to the big wrestling boom, their contracts were up and they took better offers to work elsewhere. They gave the WWF months notice and the WWF jobbed them out of all their matches. Hall's star in the company had cooled off and he wasn't doing anything major and Nash didn't have much mileage left in the company. They moved on, made more more, revitalized not just their careers but the whole industry. There's no law saying you have to stay with the company that made you a success. Guys leave teams and companies all the time and in wrestling, it's a common business. Hall and Nash were offered more money and a gigantic push. Who wouldn't have taken that deal? Flair should talk about loyalty. The WWF gave him a great, months-long sendoff complete with a DVD and a spot in their Hall of Fame. They then gave him a nice, cushy public relations job and hoped Flair would give back to them by promoting the company and 24/7. So what does Flair do? Get out of his contract so he could whore himself in the independent promotions. He even stated in an interview he was getting to the point when he couldn't leave that kind of money on the table anymore. So money was more important to Ric then loyalty and that's fine. This is America and he's looking after himself. Just like Hall and Nash were. I think Flair is bitter because it was the NWO storyline, not him or the Four Horsemen, that made WCW the number one company in the country for two years.
  25. McMahon has reached a new low with this. Anything to prop up his dying company. He exploits past tradgedies to make a buck, just like he's done with Eddie Guerrero's death for years. Vince has proven he's still one of the biggest white trash scumbags around.
