Going to a house show next week

don't make a sign, the people behind you want to see the action. the main event is usually right after intermission. a lot of times you get to see odd 6 man tag team matches. you also sometimes get to see gimmicks that are being tested in front of a crowd.

    The king of grocery stores

that's funny. was just there a couple hours ago. you from rockford? and yes Hilander was a local chain that was bought out by Kroger and Logli was also another local chain bought out by Schnucks. the best store for straight up groccerys is Woodmans, an employee owned chain based out of Wisconsin. they also do video rentals, photo processing, oil changes, car wash, gas, and photo development all right there.

    John Kronus found dead

Ummm....... hmm. I don't know what to really say about this one. Does anybody know if he was one of the guys taking something. And man, NANCY GRACE is gonna have a field day with this one. Looks like Grace is all over Mike Vicks jock now. It's about ratings and Beoit is becoming old news.
  9. HA! Sanders did a commercial for a local used car lot when he was cw champ and Nitro was in town. For years after he disappeared from the national scene they used that commercial till the car lot went out of bussiness.

    Getting a loan

have you even tried a bank yet? start with a local branch bank and then try one of the big boys (like US BAnk). someone should be willing to give it to ya, even though I'd be prepared to bend over and assume the position when you find out the interest rate. I think personal loans have higher rates anyways since there isn't a car, boat, or housde they can sell off if you default.

    New Touring Schedule Proposal

if the house shows weren't good money makers they wouldn't do them, like for example when they stopped the ECW brand shows. house shows have low overhead and I'm sure suvionour sales are good. anyways houseshows are also were younger performers can perfect themselves in front of an audiance and of course working these shows means more money for the wrestlers. anyways they work 4 days on 3 days off 50 weeks a year. thats 200 dates tops. these people KNOW what they are in for when they choose this profession.

  13. Yes real titles. I recall David & Kevin Von Erich held the All Asian tag team championship which is a title in AJPW. this would of been when World Class was a NWA territory. I know Lothario held the WCCW Texas Brass Knuckles Championship but not sure about a mexician version.

    XPW is being revived?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Rob Black shut down XPW when Extreme Associates got in trouble with the feds? I don't think it "went out of bussiness" or bankrupt.

    Matt Barlow returns to metal

Barlow is a damn good singer. Been a fan of Iced Earth for years. I assume this band is a studio only thing as the thing he loves to do for a living is being a police officer. He was actually a member of an all police officer band, I'll try to find the link..... yeah here it is.... http://www.firststateforce.org/band.html LOL. Good for him though, doing the 2 things he loves.

    So, um yeah....

I thought MVP was 30+? Well, unless you mean wrestling career wise. I forgot he only started in 2003. wikipedia says he's 33, got into wrestling after serving 9½ years of an 18 year sentence in prison for robbery. now thats funny. http://en..org/wiki/Antonio_Banks

    OAO TNA Lockdown 2007 Thread

They didn't have a very good shot of AJ flying off the top of the cage. I was excepting them to fall through onto the tacks. It was cool to see Cage and Jarret walking around with tcks in there backs.

    OAO TNA Lockdown 2007 Thread

VKM won of course. and the electric cage was stupid. People inside and outside were touching it. Only 2 big spots that affected anyone. The crowd would boo and yell bullshit. Team 3D came out with all there previous belts.

    RIP Ernie Ladd

http://www.thenewsstar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...008/1006/SPORTS Ernie Ladd, a talented football player who made his name nationally as a wrestler, died overnight, according to family members. Ladd, 68, had battled cancer — first in his colon, then later in his stomach and bones — since 2004. Born Nov. 28, 1938, in Rayville, but raised in Orange, Texas, he worked through his final years as a pastor in the Louisiana town of Franklin. Funeral arrangements were still pending today, according to Roslyn Ladd, his wife of more than 45 years. Selected 15th in the American Football League draft by San Diego out of Grambling College, Ladd appeared in three of that now-defunct league's championship games, winning the 1963 title. "We were like a family," Ladd told The News-Star in May 2005. "We were one of the first integrated teams, with black players and white players as roommates." He had entered professional football as a heralded 1960 first-team all-league defensive college lineman under former Grambling coach Eddie Robinson. There, Ladd helped GSU to its first-ever Southwestern Athletic Conference championship. At 6-9 and 315 pounds, he was arguably the biggest GSU star to ever play for Robinson, who remains the all-time winningest football coach in Division I history. "The first year he was here, he taught me a lesson," Robinson once said. "He told me how good he was. Sure, I'd say. Then he hurt somebody. I'd feel sorry for the people he was tackling." Elected to four straight AFL All-Star Games from 1962-1965, he later played with the Houston Oilers and the Kansas City Chiefs. While with the Chiefs, he reunited with future Pro Football Hall of Famer Junious "Buck" Buchanan, another Grambling product, and was on the roster for both of Kansas City's Super Bowl appearances. Ladd began wrestling as a sideline during his rookie AFL season, and found the payday and fame so alluring that eventually he gave up pro football. It was there that he picked up a nickname that would remain with him for life: "Big Cat." Ladd's storylines resonated during wrestling's earliest flowering as a national attraction, not to mention signature moves that included the "guillotine drop" and a boot to the face. Rivalries with Andre the Giant and Dusty Rhodes helped shape wrestling's 1970s persona. Today, he's the only person in both the American Football League and World Wrestling Federation halls of fame. Ladd is also a 1994 inductee into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, and joined the San Diego Hall of Champions in 2004. Ladd's knees were so damaged — his first surgery came while still in college — that he was eventually forced to walk backward down long staircases. But Ladd's boundless spirit was unbowed by his body's failures, as he displayed a touch of humor even after that cancer diagnosis. "The doctor told me I had three-to-six months to live," Ladd said in 2005, then at the mid-way point in his nearly four year battle with the disease. "I told him Dr. Jesus has the verdict on me." Ladd was a father of four and grandfather to over a dozen more.
  24. In the long run it's pretty safe to say the college grads will make more, plus they aren't doing shitty warehouse work. Been there done that. It really comes down to if you are happy and can you pay the bills.
