  3. California Bay Area according to pwi, looks like they have deals with 3 indie promotions for weekly TV. Really? What promotions? FLEDGLING CABLE NETWORK MAVERICK TV TO ANNOUNCE DEALS WITH THREE NEW WRESTLING COMPANIES by Mike Johnson @ 3:11:00 PM on 9/2/2006 In the wake of their agreement with Marvin Ward's TNT Pro Wrestling stalling and never going forward, fledgling cable network Maverick TV (MavTV) are poised to announce shortly that they have completed deals with not one, but three different independent wrestling companies to provide them with weekly series. According to a source close to the network, MavTV will announce that they have come to agreements with WWE developmental company Deep South Wrestling out of Georgia, Texas' XCW Pro Wrestling, and Nevada's Adrenaline Unleashed promotion. Adrenaline Unleashed, which has already announced the MavTV agreement on their official website, noting they will begin airing on the network this November, runs the Las Vegas, Nevada area. The company lists a number of West Coast indy names for their roster including the Ballards, Human Tornado, Davey Richards, Aaron Aguilera, The Messiah, Al Katarazz, and Navajo Warrior as regulars on their roster. Their official website can be found at www.adrenaline-unleashed.com. Texas' XCW Pro Wrestling runs weekly events in Denton, Texas using local names including Redd Dawg (WWE's Rodney Mack), Necro Butcher, Masada, Scott Putski, Chris Marvel, Don Juan, Kit Carson, and Darin Childs, among others. The promotion has been quietly gaining clearances in different Southerwestern markets and pushing their events via Video on Demand PPV channels in additional markets as well in recent months. XCW made an announcement (at least internally) last night at their event in Denton. One source believed they would debut on MavTV on 9/20, although I haven't officially confirmed that. Their official website is www.xcwprowrestling.com. WWE developmental territory Deep South Wrestling runs regularly in Georgia, including weekly TV tapings in McDonough and monthly events at Six Flags in Georgia. The company is headed by Jody Hamilton. Their official website can be found at www.dswrestling.com. MavTV made the decision to come to agreements with the companies after negotiations with Marvin Ward's TNT Wrestling ended. Although both sides had publicly announced TNT would debut a weekly series on MavTV, nothing had actually been signed and finalized, so as it turns out, that announcement was premature from both sides. A source close to the situation claimed that TNT eventually pulled out of the discussions. When TNT relaunched their website earlier this week after canceling their debut 9/9 taping in Virginia, all mentions of the TV deal were deleted. Instead of seeking one company to provide programming exclusively, the MavTV decided to seek out multiple entities. Not all of the promotions will debut at the same time. There are plans for a weekly program block that may also include MMA programming billed as "The Most Violent Night of the Week" by the network. MaverickTV is currently carried by 45-50 cable providers in different states including Florida, Virginia, Missouri, Texas, Illinois, North Carolina, and South Carolina. To see if your cable provider carries MavTV, click here. Their official website can be found at www.mavtv.com.

  6. http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermo...ewsitemID=56681 Blabbermouth is the only outlet I have seen this story, so who knows if this 100% confirmed: DISSECTION frontman Jon Nödtveidt has committed suicide, informed sources have told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. More details will be made available shortly. Nödtveidt formed DISSECTION in 1989 and released two full-length albums with the group — "The Somberlain" (1993) and "Storm of the Light's Bane" (1995) — before he was convicted in Sweden of felony murder of 37-year-old homosexual Algerian Josef Ben Maddour in 1997. He was released from prison in 2004, at which point he restarted DISSECTION. DISSECTION announced in May that it would split up imediately following its final performances in support of its recently released CD, "Reinkaos". The band was subsequently forced to cancel its two previously announced appearances in North America (Sept. 1 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA and Sept. 6 at B.B. King Blues Club in New York City) after Nödtveidt was denied legal entry into the United States as a result of his conviction. DISSECTION's most recent album, "Reinkaos", was released in May on The End Records.

    Jon Nödtveidt has committed suicide

DISSECTION guitarist Set Teitan (ex-ABORYM, BLOODLINE) has dismissed media reports that the group's frontman, Jon Nödtveidt, placed an open copy of "The Satanic Bible" in front of him before killing himself last week at his apartment in Hässelby, a suburb of Stockholm. According to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, Nödtveidt, 31, was found dead on Wednesday, August 16 after he allegedly surrounded himself by lit candles and shot himself in the head. Shortly before the ritual suicide, he sent farewell letters to his father and his girlfriend and explained to a friend, "I'm going away for a long, long time. I'm going to Transylvania." At 7:21 p.m. CET on August 16, a police patrol reported to the police communication center in Stockholm that a man had been found dead, the apparent victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to several of Expressen's sources, the singer placed an open copy of "The Satanic Bible" in front of him before pulling the trigger. "He shot himself in the head and lay dead in a ring of lit candles," a police source told Expressen. In a message posted in an invite-only black metal online forum, DISSECTION guitarist Set Teitan reportedly wrote: "This also [has] to be cleared up before it becomes another rumor, as [journalists], of course, invent things in their ignorance: It's not any atheist, humanist and ego-worshipping 'Satanic Bible' by Anton LaVey that Jon had in front of him, but a Satanic Grimoire. He despised LaVey and 'Church of Satan'."

The WWF took him off the road. I'm not sure what capacity he works these days, but he's one of those guys that will have a job as long as he wants one because of his loyalty to the company.

    WWE News and Notes

That was pretty common back in the day. I went to a show back around 88 or 89 and they taped a couple hours of Wrestling Challenge, then Saturday Nights main event, and then some other matches thrown in. It was about a 4.5 to 5 hour marathon.

Raised Roman Catholic. These days I'm independant. :-) I think organized religions are a sham for the most part. More about how big and pretty the church is and money. No thanks.
