Yeah the show was terrible which is the norm for Raw lately. What a horrible way to get the "casual fan" interested to watch on a regular basis. I reiterate On a side note, I now have diarrhea...not sure if its due to watching Raw tonight.
-
Festus is supposed to be mentally challenged ...so yeah
-
Wow Remember the story how Vince Russo came to Vince back in like 95 and told him how awful his show had gotten? Told him how the characters were ridiculous and the company looked like a big joke that was way behind the times? Yeah someone needs to have that discussion with Vince again.
-
Man they are really hamming it up with this campy goofy comedy bullshit.
-
I never liked Kennedy...still dont

Flair is startin to look like Mr Furley Ross sounds almost angry to be there tonight.
-
Holy SHIT this is baaaaad. Im glad Im watching this alone because I would be so damn embarrassed to say I watch this

Yeah probably since the last time they had a cheesy Impersonator segment. I think there was Presidential impersonators that sucked worse then this not to long ago. By FAR though the absolute worst impersonator segment in WWE history was that Rosie O Donnell Donal Trump DISASTER. Maryse has great facial expressions.
-
Yea that was lame central right there.
-
Some observations so far Big Show is getting really fat again Miz has a lisp Kings gear tonight is awesome Maryse is very hot and Batista wears red underwear
-
Ah fuck that, Id rather it be the first guy you mentioned. What does OaO mean?

This past Friday Melina slapped her backstage. Alicia then went on to hold her face like she had been shot with an AK47 for the entire match and also after the match. She also had this weird interaction with McCool after the match where the 2 accidentally bumped into each other and Alicia acted all over dramatic and sold it like Michelle had bumped here intentionally. She is as Green as Gumby and has no right whatsoever to be on WWE TV when there are lots of woman wrestlers that actually deserve a spot. She looks very nervous and uncomfortable in her role on Smackdown. I mean Alicia cant even handle standing outside the ring or talking backstage without messing up. On top of all that when she does "wrestle" its atrocious and painful to watch. The big poodle hair, toothpick skinny body, just a big sloppy mess.

Could those matches be dark matches for Raw and Smackdown? Raw has a huge 10 man tag match set and I cant see them having 3 cages matches on Smackdown. Especially main event matches like those...plus Orton vs Batista in a Cage is set for Extreme Rules. Id love to see those 3 matches, but something tells me they will be dark matches for Raw and Smackdown. Oh and by the way, Alicia Fox has to be the worst diva of all time. Horrible horrible horrible. I hope she gets endeavored immediately. Surprised Jilian Hall still has a job too.

On my cable listing it says Hogan vs Andre, is that the SNME match with Twin Hebners?

Please no more Oddity type groups

At first I was thinking HHH would be the 5th guy on Team Cena and theres a good chance he still might be. But if they wanted to really surprise us and add something extra to the show, maybe RVD will be the the 5th guy. He lives near LA and is known for making surprise WWE appearances.

What don't I get? Enlighten me with your grandure of Vince McMahon. And I wasn't expecting Vince to take the high road, far from it, this is the norm with him. I'm just saying it makes him look just as bad as the other guy. Thats my point. Bad in whos eyes though? Everyone is kissing Vince's ass over this and Kroenke is the one looking like the bad guy. Like I said in my last long winded post. Vince loves this. It would have been to easy and non news worthy for them to say "ok we will take Sunday Night" Thats it. It would have been boring, nothing to really talk about. Vince lives for the spectacle, hes enjoying every second of this free positive publicity. Having the show in Denver, everyone would have gone back to not giving a shit about WWE. I mean they had a press conference today...for Raw..when the hell do they have a press conference for Raw? Shit even HHH magically returned at the press conference. This is a huge deal for them. No one had any idea this past weekend that main stream news/and sports would be talking about WWE everyday this week. He sees dollar signs in this, potential new fans, promote his product to even more people. Deep down hes probably glad the Kroenke did this because it has turned into a huge week for them. Like I said, accepting Sunday Night in Denver would have been to boring and easy for Vince and then it would be back to another ho hum Raw show with no one really giving a shit. And the fact that the show is being moved to the Lakers house, like I said earlier, is gonna make it a real fun night. Plus Vince "getting kicked out" of Denver and being invited to LA....and him accepting LA instead of Sunday in Denver, makes WWE huge Babyfaces in the whole situation. The fans will probably be nuts on Monday. I expect a different Raw. I will say this though. You have a good point about WWE expecting Lakers fans to go to Raw instead of watching the game, but theres a good chance that theres alot of WWE Fans in LA that are just casual Lakers fan and will attend RAW to cheer for both. Not everyone is both a diehard B Ball and WWE fan. I would think theres gonna be a different vibe to this show, perhaps keeping the fans up to date with the score or something like that. Also the Lakers in the Playoffs is not really new to LA, its not like the Milwaukee Bucks magically had this incredible season for the first time in 30 years and the entire city cant miss it. I think LA is used to the Lakers in the post season. Id like to see if the show sells out, especially on this short notice. That will be a great indication of how interested people in LA are for this show. As far as the fans of Denver go, well basically Vince has tried to convince anyone that will listen inlcuding his WWE Universe faithful that Kroenke is an evil man who kicked them out of Monday Night and that it is all his fault. Vince looks like the ultimate babyface here because the media is kissing his ass over this , so most likely the WWE fans in Denver are gonna think Kroenke is an asshole and he caused Vince to bring the show to LA. Plus there gonna get there shows there again, they rescheduled them already I think, and if its another Monday Night, Im sure Vince will have some fun again over the whole situation. Its gonna be a fun night. Something different at least. Only thing that worries me a bit is that it is Memorial Day, so Im not sure if thats gonna help or hurt the ratings for this show. I dont remember what numbers years past Memorial Day shows did.

WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion
Nitro 24/7 replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in WWE Multimedia
Wow its been a month with no activity here. Thats pretty sad. -
Great show tonight! Lots of actual wrestling! WWE is really kick ass these days.

You dont get it do you? You dont see the big picture in all this. Vince could have easily excepted Sunday Night in the Pepsi Center but what fun would that be? Sure the fans that paid to see Raw would be happy but then everyone would have pretty much stopped talking about the situation. Thats not what Vince wants. If you have been following WWE for any extended length of time you should know by now Vince never wants people to stop talking about WWE. He loves publicity and makes a Billion Dollar living off of it. By having the show moved to the Staples Center...home of the Lakers, it adds a ton of publicity to the situation and people are gonna tune in to watch and see what the big deal is. I mean look at what a "storyline" this has unexpectedly turned out to be. Its great. Its got people talking. Its fun. Vince was on ESPN right after Raw ended holding up a Kobe Bryant jersey, the next day the situation is all over the news. New York Times, LA Times, Miami Herald, San Fransisco Chronicle, Boston Herald, CNN, Forbes, CNBC, ESPN, TMZ, Fox, NBC, The AP, Smarks, Marks, National News, Local News, pretty much every major media outlet has reported on the situation. PTI on ESPN had a discussion about it. Usually the only time outside of Wrestlemania that the mainstream media including Sportscenter is talking about WWE is when a death is involved. Its great, free, unexpected publicity. Like I said Vince could have easily excepted Sunday night in Denver..but what fun would that be? Instead he chose to move Raw to the Denver Nuggets opponents house! They could have chose alot of different places to hold the show but going to the Lakers house makes this a great angle for Vince and as a fan its fun to watch it unfold. The atmosphere in LA on Monday should be electric. LA always has a decent crowd but seeing all the drama surrounding the situation, and there team being in the playoffs, and WWE choosing to have Raw there at the last minute over Denver is gonna make for a very fun Monday Night. I would think they are gonna put on a really good show and make sure everyones on point because alot of very casual fans will probably tune in just to see whats going on. They already have a huge 10 man tag match booked with a "5th player" to join Cenas team. I wouldnt be surprised if they popped a 4. something on this show. You gotta be a real grinch to not enjoy watching this unfold.

Im all for up and comers getting there chance to shine in the Main Event, but I think there leading to something here with having Flair involved with the Legacy, Batista/Cena/HHH feud. I see Ric joining Legacy like the role he had with Evolution which would help out Cody and Ted even more. Theres actually a ton of history in this Legacy Feud dating back to the Evolution days and it makes perfect sense to have Flair involved in it. If its done right hopefully we will see a Legacy (Orton, Flair, Dibiase, Rhodes) vs HHH, Batista, HBK fued. Tons of history with all those guys and it could make HHH and HBKs return real exciting to watch. Lots of possible tag matches and the Mic time in this feud would be fun. I totally agree with you about Big Show beating Cena. That was just stupid to have Cena beat Show at JD, they should have at least waited until ER to have Cena beat Show. And yes most of Raw is horrible to watch, I only watched to see Flair last night, and it opened my eyes to whole bunch of possibilities they can do with having him back. Flair vs Steamboat at Summerslam or Mania 26!

Wrong. There's only one main eventer in the company who is under 30, Randy Orton, and he's 29. Unless you count a guy like CM Punk as a "main eventer", who did a clean job in his hometown in the opening match, or Jack Swagger, who didn't even defend his "world championship" on PPV half the time. The top echelon of main eventers have an older average age now than they did in the Attitude era or the early Hulkamania era, that's just fact. No theres nothing "wrong" about what I posted. I never said anything about any main eventers under 30. Although John Cena, Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton are younger then Austin, Foley and Undertaker were during the 90s boom, and are definitely younger then Hogan and Savage and Andre were during the 80s boom. I said "Look at the WWE roster and name a time when the WWE roster was as young as it is right now. You wont be able to do it because the answer is never." I never said anything about being under 30 or picking out certain groups of the roster and comparing it to rosters of yesteryear. Im saying the active roster in the entire company compared to years past. The whole point of this is because someone said why is Flair eating up TV Time when wwe should be creating young new stars. They are, right here.. Jack Swagger John Morrison The Miz CM Punk Kofi Kingston Christian MVP Kennedy Evan Bourne Shelton Benjamin Umaga Mike Knox Legacy (Cody and Ted) HF2.0 (Natty, Tyson, DH) You can put quotes around "main eventer" and "world championship" all you want but I will take a Jack Swagger or CM Punk match over a Val Venis or Rikishi match any day of the week.

Why? Ric LOVES the Wrestling Business. He said he still feels great, he looks pretty damn good for a 60 year old and he is a true Icon. That is something WWE really lacks these days, is Icons. Austin, Rock, Hogan, Bret, Macho, Warrior, Bruno, Piper, hell even Goldberg.. some of the biggest and most entertaining names ever in wrestling are not involved with WWE in any capacity for one reason or another. Flair is a legend, a hall of famer, a wrestling Icon...Anything he can bring and add to WWE TV should be a welcome addition. I watched Raw tonight specifically to see Flair on Raw and loved every minute of it. He sure as hell can still talk, hes still entertaining and Im pretty damn sure he can still put on a good match. Sadly Ric Flair will be dead one day and at age 60, his chances of in ring physicality will not be an option in a few years, but if he is looking and feeling great and still wants to wrestle a little bit and or appear on WWE TV and entertain us by being "Naitch" then he should do that. Why not? We only get 1 life to live. Alot of the greats in sports and entertainment say there gonna retire, but miss there former profession so much they make a comeback. Michael Jordan, Brett Farve, Evander Holyfield, and Terry Funk all come to mind. Sometimes a picture perfect ending to an amazing career like Jordans final jump shot against the Jazz in the NBA Finals, is such a great moment you want them to stay retired on top, but if they wanna come back...who cares? We benefit as fans and they get to do what they love. I look at Rics HOF sendoff last year as Ric Flair being honored and celebrated for his 30+ year amazing wrestling career coming to an end on a full time basis. Which it probably has. I dont think were gonna see Ric booked on every house show or wrestling every week but hopefully if he re signs with WWE we get to see Ric wrestle once in a while and when not wrestling then at least be on TV in some kind of role. He mentioned Europe was offering him boat loads of cash to wrestle some matches there so who knows for sure if he will be back with WWE. I hope he is though. If he does re sign with WWE Im thinking we might actually see a Ric Flair heel turn some point soon with Ric joining Legacy. Of all the big names I mentioned before, I dont think any single one of them truly loves the pro wrestling business like Ric Flair does. I watched his HOF speech again the other day and when the girls were walking him out on stage it looked like Ric was heading to the electric chair. He never wanted to retire. He says that all the time. He appreciated the sendoff and it was the greatest weekend of his pro life but he never wanted to retire. Any interview hes in, whether it was his Shoot interview, his dvd, radio interviews, etc He always ends up crying when he talks about not wrestling anymore. The man LOVES the business and doesnt want to leave it. Also WWE is indeed making plenty of new stars. Most of the company is young newer guys. They definitely out number the older veterans like Taker and HBK. Nobody will probably reach the "new star" level attraction that The Rock and Stone Cold had but then again that was 10 years ago, the wrestling boom period is long gone, and "making a new star" is not as easy as making chocolate chip cookies. Having Ric Flair interact with the young new guys is great for the business as well. I love seeing legends in some type of ongoing role on WWE TV. The young guys can certainly learn a thing or two from them and Flair is one of probably only a very few big names who want anything to do with pro wrestling anymore. Look at the WWE roster and name a time when the WWE roster was as young as it is right now. You wont be able to do it because the answer is never. You have your current mega WWE Stars (like it or not) John Cena Undertaker HHH HBK Jeff Hardy Batista Randy Orton Edge Chris Jericho Rey Mysterio Big Show Matt Hardy then you have a nice lineup of young great talent Jack Swagger John Morrison The Miz CM Punk Kofi Kingston Christian MVP Kennedy Evan Bourne Shelton Benjamin Umaga Mike Knox Legacy (Cody and Ted) HF2.0 (Natty, Tyson, DH) The WWE Roster could very well be as talented as it ever has been but people might not see it because the talent is spread out among 3 exclusive shows. The attitude era was alot of sleeze and promos with some decent matches here and there but I dont see Billy Gunn and Road Dogg being better inside the ring then John Morrison and Jack Swagger. Sure Austin, Rock and Foley were huge draws and merchandise sellers but the undercard was a complete shitfest until The Radicalz arrived. Look at a ppv like Judgement Day last night and tell me a ppv from the Attitude era of late 1997-2000 that had better talent and "wrestling" then last nights Judgement Day. Good luck going through Too Cool and Albert matches. Matter of fact..I think I will save the rest for another post. Comparing and evaluating todays current WWE Roster to rosters of the past.
