Yeah? PM me, if you really think you know.

WTF? So... because I'd rather not reveal EXACTLY who I am (which I would, naming my promotion) is "made up?" As I mentioned before, I'm nearly 40 and own 3 businesses. It could be bad for business divulging who I am. Thanks for understanding! PS: Who's Deon? @ Ravenbomb - Of all the "wordplays" I've seen here, you call me out on mine, eh? Well, I think it's perfect for me, but nobody seems to take it for what it's worth and I offend them... imagine that.
-
Alright, enough is enough... There have definitely been a few posts of yours that rubbed me the wrong way, but can we just get past this now? If you want to discuss this further, hit me up in PM. Let's not continue this "you did this" and "you said that" in the No Mercy thread... ...although that seems somewhat appropriate. As far as I'm concerned, I like everyone here. I think we're all quirky and crazy, which is perfect for a wrestling board. And Matt, yes my gimmick is to be a douche bag! Do you think I should change my gimmick? Tell you what, and this I promise... The day MVP is WWE champ, I'll turn face, K? Edit: Sorry, Venk, I posted this just after your comment, and I fully agree.
-
Heh... That was totally directed at you. You have been pretty rude to me, since I came here. I'm not going to apologize for that. You see, you think I'm pretentious? Take a good, long look at yourself. I realize I came off wrong in the beginning, and I apologized. I've been told IRL that I sound condescending, but I do not intend to be at all nor am I, in reality. It's just the way I convey my thoughts, very matter-of-factly. For that, I will apologize. I try to give everyone the utmost respect.

Now, hold on a sec here. I've both agreed and disagreed with many members' opinions. As far as my "30 year" comment, it had NOTHING to do with me "knowing everything". I was referring to the talent pool of the last 30 years. Stop being so damn sensitive, people! I think we're all just getting a bit too defensive/offensive. We are here to have fun by discussing wrestling, right? Spare me the aggression and try to remember that I've heard all the "nobody cares" stuff before. I understand and respect that. Thanks.
-
Yes. Sorry, guys, but there will always be someone who disagrees with what EVERYONE says. Especially, are here! I suppose I should at least say this... MVP is definitely not MY favorite, but if he's yours, more power to ya. He simply doesn't do it for me. I think his level of look, charisma, etc. that you're all perceiving is relative to the field. Today's WWE is getting more and more bland, and perhaps he stands out to those that disagree with me. I must say over the course of the 30 years I've been watching wrestling, it is my opinion, he's nothing special.

Good promos, good matches... What do you NOT see? He doesn't have "the look" He doesn't have the charisma He looks like he's going diving with that awful get up He lacks in ring talent Ummm...I could go on...
-
I have to ask... what does ANYONE see in MVP?!

First off... Venk, your first post SAYS IT ALL. This is probably going to be the worst PPV of the year with storylines that seemingly make little to no sense and Tobin also makes a good point... Seems like a tired, worn out lineup. I can still see HBK vs Batista for the belt. There's still some unfinished business there. It's completely feasible that Jericho costs HBK the belt on the next PPV. That would take them both out of the title picture and elevate their rivalry even more. I think a singlet ala Nikita Koloff would suit him well. If he's going to get a title push, shouldn't he have someone representing him? My vote is for a manager from the past to make a big return. Realistically, it's hard to even consider Matt as a challenge for Henry, but this is Pro Wrestling. That being said, I think the old ECW rules are painfully overdue, and the only way I see Matt retaining or regaining is with outside help. He needs to build a small stable. Candace should win the title ONLY if they feel she's ready. It would be a travesty to have a WWE Ladies champion that totally blows spots on a weekly basis. I can see Beth and Santino together for a LONG time, so I don't see face. I do see, however, a fun lover's quarrel angle out of them with Santino playing the bitch more than ever. He can't hold the IC belt long without her, and I see him holding it for some time to come. No question on this one. I see a crazy swerve coming here. I realize Rey sells tons of merch, but what if Kane holds him "hostage" somehow and makes him his pawn for a while? Or, in typical WWE fashion, some crazy "supernatural" angle to have Rey under Kane's control. (It's the WWE, it COULD happen ) Speaking of crazy "supernatural" BS. Prepare to roll your eyes at how stupid the match becomes with more theatrics from UT. Well, that's my two cents.

Well, I'm sorry they're jaded. Again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just as much as I am entitled to my privacy. Instead of being repeatedly insulted, I'd prefer they simply ignored my comments. I'm not a member of this board to create a problem. I simply love the business and miss it terribly. It's as if I represent some kind of threat... Don't worry, the coolest thing you ever did is cooler than what I've done...that better?

I shouldn't have to give up my entire identity to share and discuss wrestling, should I? I know more than enough about how this business works to have some great conversations and debates. So, what is your issue? I never claimed to know EVERYTHING about the way the business is run. Hell, the business changes so much so fast, does anybody? So, please, get off my nuts. I'm damn near 40 years old with a lot of experience. I run 3 businesses that I own, and I don't wish to chance a RL problem by divulging who I am. Isn't that fair? Besides, when did I "run[ning] a promotion as [my] credentials to knowing everything about the way the industry is run"? >Sheesh<
-
I'm not going to start slingin' crap, AGAIN! Venk and I have had a few discussions about that, and out of respect, I'll just leave it be. You have every right to believe what you want. I know what I've done, and I'm proud of it. The BEST years of my life were the years I had my promotion.

I had guys that BEGGED me to let them gig. Some workers are just into that. I began as a hardcore organization with a "scientific" division. Much the opposite of the industry, at the time. Of course, it evolved into a more diverse organization as I began to grow and draw more technically skilled workers. The scientific title vs. the "hardcore" champion unified with the sci-title champion winning. Marking the beginning of a more "purist" wrestling organization. After which, the gigging slowed to a crawl. You can't possibly have 8 hardcore matches without the blood. It wouldn't have been hardcore, at the time. @Bob - Not paranoid, just enjoy my privacy. I'm sure you wouldn't give out your name and address, which is exactly what I'd be doing. @Hunter's worn gnad - get over yourself. You think a wrestling board only attracts marks, or what? I love the business, spent a lot of time (and money) in the business, and I have every right to enjoy talking about it. I don't know why you'd be so insulting to someone that is offering actual experience in the business, but I can only assume it's some childish crap that I want no part of. I'd appreciate you leaving it at the door, if you know what I mean? -Just sayin'
-
It doesn't matter what the name was... I don't ask anyone to divulge information that would allow others to conclude who they are and where they live, so I request the same respect. Thanks.
-
For the record, Primadonna - a vain or undisciplined person who finds it difficult to work under direction or as part of a team. Also, ECW WAS in. Not to mention, he was debating this...
-
For the sake of argument, how do you get "you'd don't love the business, unless you gig," out of this... You saw what I posted, right? Let's go over it, really slow, so you don't miss it... "a lot" = many, quite a few, a good amount...okay, got it? "of indy guys" = well, you claim to know what that means, already...hell, you know some, right? "that LOVE the industry" = referring to the indy guys, but not making it exclusive, just "a lot", as seen in the first explanation...I hope I'm not moving too fast for you... "will gig" = be willing to make a small cut in their sweaty forehead that makes a nice, crimson mask. "at a moment's notice" = describes when they'll gig. Now, do you see anywhere that states an indy worker DOESN'T love the business, if he doesn't gig?
-
I'm not at all wrong, Scroty, so stop being a bone. I realize you oppose vehemently EVERYTHING I post, and that's fine. Although now, you're just being an ass. YES, my boys LOVED it. Every worker I had gigged at one time or another. Some every show. So, you should stop comparing your boys with mine. I had a great working relationship with them. They'd do damn near ANYTHING for me, including flaming tables. You obviously hang out with the primadonnas I mentioned earlier
-
Wow! A whole decade?! I've seen a few occasions where performers wouldn't be in their most-known outfits, but never street clothes. Of course, back in the day, redneck wrestlers (and there were many) ALWAYS wrestled in street clothes
-
My boys LOVED it. For the most part, 3 out of 10-12 matches involved gigging. For some, that wasn't enough. They had to bring in chairs, tables, staplers, or even box fans. Hell, I've seen some of the strangest shit be used as weapons! Nonetheless, a lot of indy guys that LOVE the industry will gig at a moments notice. It's the primadonnas that take issue with it. It's part of the business, folks. If they have an issue with it, they should have chosen a different profession.

This is a good question I would like to have answered. I wonder what Raven or any of the others stand to get by winning this lawsuit. It would be pointless unless there are "damages" involved, which only cold, hard cash can compensate for... I can't see Raven doing it just to make life better for others.
-
Sorry, man, but that is totally untrue. In my indy, and every indy I worked with, the workers have 90% control over their match, but the spots and outcomes are the promoters' call. If I wanted a worker to gig, he'd gig. Granted, they could refuse, but they wouldn't be working the next show. So how many people did you lose because they didn't gig for you? That's just bad business. It's one thing if you would like someone to bleed for the match, but it should be up to that wrestler on how he or she bleeds for the match. I know if you wanted me to gig, I'd want you to pay me a little extra and if you refused and still wanted me to gig or I wouldn't work the next show, I'd pack up my shit and as soon as my song hit, I'd walk out the front door. What you're talking about Noah, when it comes to the Indies and the WWE are really two different things. For the most part, the Indies are not promotions who contract their wrestlers and I doubt your promotion used contracts. A indy wrestler working freelance for a indy promotion can refuse to not gig if they want to. What are you gonna do? Throw a fit? "I wanted Wrestler A to bleed so I wanted him to gig, he said he would get it done by doing it hard way because he doesn't gig, but I told him he had to gig so he walked out." That absolutely makes no sense at all and other wrestlers or promoters would laugh at your dumbass for trying to force a wrestler to bleed by gigging. As far as the lawsuit goes, I'm a bit confused on something. What is Raven actually going after? Is he going after money he feels that he was owed for not working for 60 or 90 days after he was released? Or is he going after the WWE because they didn't give benefits? Or both? I didn't lose anyone. My boys and I had a great amount of respect for each other. I knew my crew enough to know who/when to ask, and rarely did they refuse. Sometimes they had a wedding or something similar coming up, and we worked it out. I made it a policy to not work anyone that had an issue with gigging, pretty simple, really. And, no, other wrestlers and promoters didn't laugh at "my dumbass", I had workers driving 200 miles to work my shows. As far as my comment about WWE's workers having freedom. They definitely have a say in their matches. You can't possibly script every single move of the match. It's up to the two (or more) in the ring to decide the "filler" between spots decided by creative. That was the point I was making.

Heh... All I can say is Heroes was awesome tonight! When I did catch Raw during commercials, I noticed a few things... Orton got a nice pop in the opening segment! Kofi is getting a mad push soon while Punk remains a favorite (tag team champs?). Kelly Kelly is F'n HOT! With Cade scoring the pinfall on HBK, it seems pretty obvious the outcome of the PPV, but who knows...Cade scoring the pinfall was as unpredictable and unexpected as I've seen! Cade's finisher was executed flawlessly, I was impressed.

As is the first person view....if that was supposed to be from 1st person, why was Taker's right hand to the left of him? Whatever happened to some credible camera angles? Is there an UndertakerCam?? I have to also admit, I HATE the WWE Belt. It looks like a large toy version.

UT thing with Chavo was pretty damn lame, IMO.
