  1. Carolina winning helps the Giants out with HFA due to the strengh of schedule for the remainder of the season compared to the Bucs. The Bucs get the Falcons, the Chargers and the Raiders in the last 3 weeks. That should be 2 wins at least. The Panthers still have to play the Broncos, the Giants and then the Saints at the Superdome. Bucs have 2 conference losses while the Panthers have 3. Plus the Panthers winning helps the Giants control their own destiny more. If HFA comes down to their game in week 16 and the Giants lose than they dont deserve HFA.

  2. Varitek declined arbitration, which will most likely end his career as a Red Sox (or Red Sock... Czech).

Good luck finding that multi-year deal, buddy. Guess there is still a chance that the Sox bring him back on a one-year deal, but I can't believe that Boras talked him out of one year at $10 million+. If he somehow finds his way to another major league roster that's a draft pick for Boston, which is just gravy on top of finally getting a new catcher.

Whhhaaattttttttttt????????????? Is Varitek beyond stupid now? He passed up on a 10 million dollar deal at least? Does he not know that he was probably the worst everyday posistional hitter in all of baseball last year? Pudge has a better chance of getting more money than Varitek.

  3. I didn't expect the Giants to go 15-1. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they lost another. Some times teams just have bad days.

Nobody expected the Giants to be 11-2 today. Out of their first 13 games, 10 have been against playoff caliber teams. Their last 3 games are going to be against playoff caliber teams. I am a huge diehard Giants fan and I am noticing that some are becoming spoiled and expecting wins all the time. It's funny to see so far that the Broncos are losing at home to the Chiefs while the Jets are losing to the 49'ers. I am sure Jets fans are just happy looking at the scoreboard.

  4. Ok well look at the positives. I dont care that the touchdown at the end was cosmetic because Hixon dropped a sure touchdown in the first half. Philadelphia beat the Giants in almost every aspect of the game, converted all day on 3rd down and only won by 6 points. You cant expect any team to play great week in and weak out against playoff level teams. A loss today can be good motivation for the team against the Cowboys next week. The Cowboys have to go 4-0 and the Giants going 0-3 for the Cowboys to win the division.

I don't look at losses that way since I'm not a Steelers fan and don't play the woulda, shoulda, coulda game. The Giants were manhandled on both sides of the ball, and were only in the game thanks to special teams. If they'd play that game in Philly, it would almost be acceptable since you're not supposed to win divisional games on the road late in the year. If this is the kind of effort the Giants bring to January football at home, then we'll be this year's version of the '07 Cowboys. The Eagles ran over us with 8+ in the box, shredded our secondary and completely shut down our running game. That combination should be frightening to a fan of any team with championship aspirations.

However it is only week 14 and the Giants only lossed by 6 with the Eagles only scoring 20 points. Today was a huge wakeup call for the Giants. Look at the Giants game last year against the Vikings late in the season. If I told you after that the Game the Giants would win the Superbowl and beat the Pats you would have had me locked up in a psych ward.

  5. I'm not upset that the Giants lost. I'm upset that they got bludgeoned by a non playoff team for the second time this year. That late cosmetic TD aside this was a complete blowout. When a blocked FG return accounts for all of your "offense" on the day, that's not a good sign.

Also I really don't want the Cowboys to make the playoffs and the Falcons blowing one against the hapless Saints gives them the chance to jump into the 6 seed with a win today. That's the only team I'm afraid of coming into Giants Stadium and piling up the points against us, especially if the defense plays as poorly as they did today.

  6. I have a question about HFA for the NFC. The winner of Monday Night Football will go to 10-3. Does anybody know the scenarios if Tampa or Carolina end the season tied with the Giants? I know that Carolina and the Giants play in 2 weeks. So the winner of that game should decide HFA if it comes down to those two tied.

  7. Now that I've gotten over my disappointment in the Browns, I'm finding them more and more humorous every week.

40+ yard catch in bounds by Cleveland called out of bounds. Challenge? Nah

4th down Cleveland down 12 points w/ 8:00 to go. Go for it? Nah

What do you think of Espn reporting that the Browns are interested in bringing back Marty?

  8. If the Steelers don't win later on, I fully expect the Giants to get rolled in Dallas next weekend. What an embarassing performance today.

Nah man. If the Giants lose today they'll be pissed and Dallas hates playing physical teams. Whether they win or lose in Pittsburgh, their bodies aren't going to feel very good afterwards and they should be ripe for a Giants "response" ass-kicking.

The Giants have given up about 103 straight 3rd down conversions to the Eagles. They've gotten the life kicked out of them on both sides of the ball, and Philly doesn't have a fraction of the skills players that Dallas does. Ross and Jacobs both got hurt and as we've seen in their two losses, when the Giants can't control TOP, they lose badly. If Barber doesn't play again next week that actually hurts the Giants because then Dallas will just pass all game and there's no way we can cover TO, Williams, Crayton, Witten and whoever else without any kind of pass rush. I don't believe the Giants have put McNabb on his ass once this game and Romo is far more mobile. If Dallas wins today then can close within a game of the division title by winning at home, and I think that's exactly what will happen.

I am 99 percent sure that the Cowboys cannot win the Division if they are tied with the Giants at the end of the season. The Giants need 1 more win and that would give them a first round bye. Cowboys have to finish a game better than the Giants to win the division. If they end up blowing HFA then you can get pissed.

  9. Pick six. This is turning into a laugher in Indy.

It's turning into a laugher as well at the Meadowlands. You would think that the Eagles were the defending champs at home 11-1 against the Giants who are 6-5-1 playing for the playoff lives. Eagles are 9-14 today on 3rd down. The Giants only have 3 conversions.

And another 3rd down Conversion for the Eagles. Jesus christ!

  10. Great play calling for the Giants today. 4th and 1 and they go shotgun. Element of suprise I'll tell ya! If they lose today it's going to be a very bad loss and hopefully Coughlin can kick some ass.

  11. The Giants are getting manhandled by the Eagles. This game has been worse than the Browns one in terms of how inept they've looked. If not for special teams, they should probably be down by about 20.

There is alot of time left but the Offense is going to have to wake up and the defense has got to make a third down stop. This is looking like the Giants defense before 07 where they never ever got a big stop.

  12. I wonder how much the content will cost anyway. Any word on the cost, and if everything will be released separately or as one big bundle?

You do know that this is THQ right? Even when the roster was leaked they denied it. Legends of Wrestlemania is coming out in 3-4 months and how much have to released about the game? Box Art and a couple of pix/1 vid of Hogan vrs Andre.

  13. Those are photoshopped edits. Look at Macho Man, it's just Chris Masters picture from last year.

Not even that, those are some pretty bad character models. Plus why would Rocky Johnson be in the game? I dont think he ever even wrestled at WrestleMania. Plus the character models are supposed to be larger than life like the action figures from the early to mid 80's. The photo shop of Savage and the Ultimate Warrior make them look like they had been off of Roids for years.

Well, first of all...we'll have to see if the "WrestleMania" in the name comes to play at all or not.

Secondly, he DID save his son at WrestleMania 13 from the beatdown from The Iron Sheik & Bob Backlund...

Ok well the title of the game is Legends of WrestleMania, not WWE, not WWF, not Wrestling. Saving your son from a beatdown is not good enough to be included in this game when there are going to be at least 60 deserving wrestlers for 40 spots.

  15. Buster Olney has a report that the Mets, rather than having a primary target, have decided to sign one closer by offering deals to K-Rod (3 yrs, $36 million), Brian Fuentes (3 yrs, $30 million), and Kerry Wood(2 yrs, $16-18 million) and signing whoever accepts theirs first. I think I might like this approach.

Hahaha, they are following the old Brian Cashman approach. The Yankees one off season made offers to Steve Karsay and Mike Stanton and who ever called back first was the one that they signed. It ended up being Karsay.
