Maybe Leia having images of Padme is the force working with Leia without her realising. -

I thought the Dark Side Cave on Dagobath was Yoda fucking with Luke to get him mentally straight. -
I wouldn't worry about it, our characters are off stoned somewhere probably.

Never! Again, I'm bias, but the ending to the United/Barcelona game was better than last night's, if only because no team should win a cup final on penalties. Ever. Never liked it, never will. The match itself was better than, sure, but the Nou Camp ending was one of the best in (European) cup final history. Not to mention the United side being better than this Liverpool side, not finishing fifth in the Premiership and the fact we had more than two British players in the team. Last night was better IMO because Liverpool literally came back from the dead. 3-0 down at half time to AC Milan is as dead as you can get without being in the morgue. It was about the underdog and never giving up. I love it when things like this happen in football because it just underlines how great the sport is. This was also a major FUCK YOU to Wenger and Abramovich. Now granted Liverpool came 5th this season and fourth to qualify, but United came second to get into the Champions League when they won so United's prescence that season is as undeserving as Liverpool's because neither side were Champions of England. (Yes I know United won the title that season but that gains them qualification the next year). And as for the more British players argument, forget it, an Englishman lifted the trophy last night, not Peter Schmeical or Roy Keane in a suit. Wow that makes me sound like a Xenophobic Liverpool fan. But I assure you I'm neither.

Tonight was one of the most insane things ever. I hope Tyldsley (sp?) shuts up about the Nou Camp now. He mentions that in every European Cup game he's commentated in since.

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread

I'm surprised at how emotional this movie made a lot of people.. My mom barely remembered much from the original trilogy, and after I saw Ep.III, I've sort of geeked out over Star Wars, and we've been watching the whole saga over the past week (ROTJ comes tommorrow!). I've explained to her a lot of things, and she saw Ep.III, and she also cried at the scene where Anakin was left crispy and legless, screaming. It just might be the most moving film of the 6. I saw Phantom Menace recently and the seen where his mom tells him not to look back is the basis of it all for me. I know Jake Lloyd wasn't great but imagine being eight years old and being separated from your mom, especially if she was your only parent. Fast forward 15 or so years and the the same kid is screaming he hates the man who tried to be his dad, (who was also forced cut three of his limbs off), while trying to crawl up a bank with one arm. Its just the complete fall into madness and desperation of a man who was meant to be the greatest of all. That and the ROTJ scene when Vader taunts Luke about Leia are tied for me. But I'll have to go see ROTS again to be sure. (If only Lucas had made a greater effort to make Obi-Wan and Anakin seem more like best pals in AOTC.) I think it can be interpreted as Obi-Wan meaning he believes the former Anakin Skywalker would've wanted Luke to have it. -
Indeed. Its why I live in Leicester. What I love about The Sun is that its trying to make its readers hate this family. The family is clearly a mess. But the The Sun wont be happy until the family have shit thrown at them on the streets by its mindless sheep readers.

I'm pretty sure Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within bombed in comparison to its budget.

I didn't notice Obi pick it up, but then again I was wiping back the tear I shed. I've said too much... -

There is no clip of Yoda going to Dagobath because Yoda himself says that he'll finish Obi-Wan's training on Tatooine with Qui-Gonn's help. At least thats what I remember. -
58th out of 86th. Smith and Reyes up front were bad choices after they stopped scoring 6 weeks into the season.

I think what makes it especiially offensive is that he battles Andre again at Wrestlemania IV a year later. And thats not exactly a well kept secret.

I watched Phantom Menace recently for the first time in about two years, and it was a lot better than I remember. Jar Jar isn't that annoying in hindsight, just ignore him and its all fine. The battle scene between the droids and Gun-guns is actually really well done IMO and the three way saber duel is good fun. Most significantly I found that despite Jake Lloyd's terrible acting, all the Anakin scenes are really good, helping to build up the character's eventual downfall. Still after the Original Trilogy, but lightyears ahead of Attack of Clones. -

Over the weekend, here in Britain (that seems to go in every post I make about something specifically British), The Sun and News Of The World gave away promotional DVDs about the Heroes and Villains of the Star Wars Saga. They showed the clip of Greedo shooting first and Anthony Daniels (C3PO), who was narrating, made a quip about Greedo shooting first which I found funny. Daniels also made a point of repeating the question about R2 and 3PO not recognising Obi-Wan. Daniels said it would be answered in Episode III. I know its already been answered here and numerous times across the internet, but I thought I was nice of an official Lucas production to acknowledge a couple of questions mostly associated with the Star Wars nerds such as ourselves. -

Probably Obi-Wan's best moment from the original Trilogy IMO. He just stands there after fucking up Evazan and Baba, not even with a smirk, while everyone else in the bar just goes back to their business trying not to breath wrong because they know Obi-Wan's a Jedi and will fuck them up. Badass. -
Throw Shamrock at Backlash 1999 on that list too.

Big thanks to Matt.

I'm currently putting the finishing touches on my Dissertation which focuses on an argument of whether or not Mythology can be created in a modern society rampant with cynicism. One of the three main areas I discuss is the ability of comic books to achieve a state of myth, for example I have touched upon the similarities of Batman & Robin Hood and Superman & Hercules. So what do you guys think?

Brian Gewirtz to Take Leave of Absence from WWE

Surely a stroyline involving William Regal faking his own death and hiding in the back of Black Recarro Pontiac pretending to be the vocie of the car with Tajiri as Michael knight would draw HUGE. -
I'd be interested to know your second worst song ever. EDIT: Oh and my least favourite song is either anything by Damien Rice or 'Barbie Girl' by Aqua.

In one hour and one minute you'll be arrested.

Bill Goldberg. And eventually Steve Austin.

Not like the WWE will take note.
