    WWE Raw - March 2, 2009

Submission wrestling is too closely associated with Chris Benoit, so the E wants very little of it, and when it does come up, they want it done incorrectly. Dude, Shawn Michaels and HHH use The Crippler Crossface all the time in big matches. He was obviously kidding.

I qualify a country as socialist when the majority of its industries are state owned. America is far from reaching that point. I would even argue that some of the European socialist countries are not totally socialist by the dictionary definition. I'm not an econ major so I do admit that I could be wrong on the issue.

Yes, but what does that have to do with anything? Socialism means the STATE OWNING EVERYTHING. A socialist government would own EVERYTHING. Get that? EVERYTHING! The U.S. economy is a mixed economy, it's a combination of a command and a free market economy. The government DOES interfere but it doesn't do nearly enough for us to be socialist. The world isn't black and white. Our economy has some characteristics of socialism but it is FAR from a socialist economy.

Because state ownership is an extreme form of that?

So instead of presenting me with any evidence that my definition is wrong in anyway, you just give me another definition, and one from the Merriam-Webster dictionary at that. Is Princeton University good enough for you? Noun S: (n) socialism (a political theory advocating state ownership of industry) S: (n) socialism, socialist economy (an economic system based on state ownership of capital) http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=socialism

    Wrestling Quirks

This one is all Vince's fault. The escape rule was put in for some retarded reason, and killed the premise of the match. Although it does still serve as a mild deterrent to a gang run-in. The reason behind the escape rule (from what I can tell) is to make it so you have to beat the guy so badly that he can't prevent you from escaping. Remember, in a regular match you only have to keep him down for 3 seconds. In a cage though, it takes a lot more than 3 seconds to climb out so you theoretically have to beat your opponent worse than you would in a regular match. It's a good idea in theory.

What's even funnier is how he accepts Mitt Romney's explanation for his flip flop on abortion. He says that Romney admitted that his stance was a mistake and it was a rethinking of his position and not a flip flop.

What's scary to me is that I attend an Ivy League school and I still run into people who buy into the "OBAMA IS A SOCIALIST" line. You'd think that an Ivy Leaguer would have a clear idea of what a socialist is.

THAT, and "oh we got away from our TRUE VALUES and spent money" as if that is ever going to change from either party. Both parties spend a lot, it is just what they choose to spend it on. And you don't suppose running against government spending, at a time people want it the most, isn't a good idea? There are still people out there who cling to the idea that Obama is a socialist. I happen to know one of them. He refers to Obama as our "socialist" President and Mitt Romney as the white knight who will come and rescue us from socialism.

Why did it take almost a full year for the leading economists who are the Authority on Recessions to finally admit that we have been in a recession since December of 2007? Why did it take them almost a full year? Because you are a fucking retard. Learn how economics and statistical analysis works. Except that some of the same people were saying we were only in a recession like episode in May after some April employment figures were released. So we were sort of in a recession back in May, and then they just changed their minds and decided were in a full blown recession that had been going on for 6 months prior to that 6 months later. If that's true, then why didn't the Romney campaign say something? It's not the media's job to bring attention to issues that will help a candidate's campaign. Well we should not forget he won the Michigan primary on the basis of him saying that he would bring back jobs to Michigan which has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, I actually called Romney a liar on this but thats probably more because Michigan is so screwed up that no matter what Romney tried to do it would never happen. its also nice to see that the government is doing its best to see that Michigan loses even more of those jobs through the bailout plan to the big 3.. Okay, let's try this again: Answer the question I asked, not the question you created for yourself.

Oh that's it. You're down to your last strike, my friend. That might be the worst six-word series I've ever read. They-->rig-->the-->economy-->against-->him. Jesus fuck. I dont see how this is so horrible since Ive made the exact same point about a million times before on here that I figured everyone knew how I felt. So you REALLY think that we intentionally tanked the world's economy because of MITT ROMNEY? MITT FUCKING ROMNEY? The chance to actually engage you in a conversation is one of the reasons I decided to quit lurking. There is no way that you're not a gimmick poster.

Maybe that's Mitt Romney's new campaign strategy. "VOTE FOR ME! As long as I'm in the race, the economy is FINE! If I lose the primary, the economy TANKS!"

Bush's approval rating prior to the election was 49%, he was vulnerable if you could find a good candidate. I honestly think that Howard Dean was the best of the 2004 candidates, if only because of his public speaking skills and his staunch opposition to the war. Kerry could never pick on a side on well..........anything. Dean was by far the most electable candidate (against Bush) of the 2004 cohort and judging by how he managed to rejuvenate the party in 2006, I'd say that he would've run a fairly competitive campaign against Bush. All the Democrats had to do to win was swing ANY state and hold what Gore won in 2000. The Democrats swung New Hampshire but lost New Mexico and Iowa.

You have to wonder if Rush Limbaugh was secretly hoping for an Obama victory. With Obama in the White House, Rush can now preach from his soap box about how America is abandoning its core conservative values and have an audience who will say, "Right on Rush." Kind of like a guy I know who swears that the GOP can win the White House in 2012 by sticking to these values and running a man like Mitt Romney. As much as I like Romney, he'll never win because they rig the economy against him. When he was running in the primaries no one was worried about the economy and that was his strongest focus point. As soon as he dropped out the economy magically started tanking and even was proven to have been that way back in 2007. They'll do the same thing to him in 2011/12 if he decides to run again. Where can I volunteer for the Mitt Romney campaign? If him running will cause the economy to recover then I am pulling for Romney to win the 2012 GOP primaries. I do find it funny that people point to Romney as a real conservative when a simple YouTube search can prove otherwise. He was pro-choice in the 1994 Senatorial race and in the 2002 race for Governor. He suddenly has a "change of heart" when he runs for President? I call bullshit. Him winning the CPAC straw poll shows that he has managed to pull the wool over everyone's eyes somehow. "Mitt Romney isn't pro choice nor anti-choice, he's multiple choice." - Ted Kennedy

WWE General Discussion - March 2009

WWE had a house show in my area on Saturday Night (in Burlington, Vermont), refunds were offered because HHH and Edge no-showed. I kind of wanted to go but after seeing the results, not sure if it would've been worth the ride out to see it anyway. Never been to a house show before but I'd like to check one out sometime. Hopefully, I'll have some money next time WWE ventures to Boston, Manchester or even Burlington.

Well fuck me, it didn't even take a day. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0309/19517.html How pathetic are these guys that they can't even say anything about a moronic, racist, drug-addict talk show host without grovelling for forgiveness. Jesus Christ. These people are so low on the totem pole, they're underground. I'm half expecting the GOP to run Rush Limbaugh for President in 2012. This is getting WAY out of hand.

    WWE Raw - March 2, 2009

Isn't that the logical move? Orton was RUNNING from Triple H last week so to willingly face him in a match would be illogical. I see a Rated RKO celebration until Vince makes his return and forces Orton to face HHH.
