Sept 14, 1999, Las Vegas, SmackDown!. HHH goaded Vince into a title match so he could beat him down (which he did, for several minutes). Then, HHH bumps the ref, Austin runs in (he and HHH were feuding), Stone Cold Stunner on HHH, Austin puts Vince on top of HHH and revives the ref, 1-2-3, Vince McMahon is the WWE Champion. That Monday (9/20/99), Vince vacated the title so the winner of the '6-Pack Challenge' scheduled for that Sunday's Unforgiven PPV would be the new WWE Champion. At Unforgiven, guest referee Steve Austin was forced to count HHH's winning pinfall on The Big Show, but attacked The Game as he celebrated after the match. This set up Austin-HHH for the title at No Mercy the next month. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You forgot to mention that the guest ref for the HHH-Vince Match was Shane O Mac Himself

They are hardcore WWf/E fans, and anyone who was in WWF years ago is gonna get a big pop there, especialy Hogan (and considering how few times he actually wrsetled in canada) . I remember Curt Hennig getting a monster pop and face ovation at WCW Mayhem 99 which was in Toronto I think.
-
well I would think the mexicool attack would lead to a face turn no? and yes if WWE doesn't want you to be over, then you wont be over. They hate having to change thier plans (last time they did that was putting Batista in the slot vs HHH at WM, buts thant probably cuz Batista is a HOSS)

Sd magazine has a review of the dvd set and it says the dvd does have the one night only match so I guess thats good news right? -
IWC 4 Life is now up to 686th place! Damn wwe screwed us over by announcing benoit gets a us title shot at SS (and will likely win this time) on RAW . oh well heres how I did so far this week RAW Cena-28 Hogan-24 Angle-23 SD Melina-23 Orton-32 Rey-24 Batista-7 Grand Total if 161 so far as long as all my guys win at SS Ill be ok, though Benoit possibly getting those 20 title win points makes me a bit angry. Glad I changed Matt to Randy though. so angle-eugene is nonspecialty? damn oh well at least Ill get ppv win points for angle. Damn have you looked at the leaderboard? bswinm and The Millionaires tied for 1st with 199 points? how did they get 199 points? damn, Im not too far back that

how about Roseanne? it was a big hit show youd think it would be available already.
-
I never even saw it or knew that it aired. that sucks

Ah someone is picking shawn. I would like to but I have a bad feeling about this. Dont think Eugene will have an invitational tonight but he may. The summerslam match may be ruled a specialty match cuz it is "no time limit" Jericho will likely beat Cena tonight to give him some credibility going into the PPV- and to foreshadow who will win the ppv match, so I could have picked him (and probably should have) notice that Raw is doing the same thing on the last show before Sumemrslam as they did last yeay, by haveing the champ face his ss opponent and a partner in a handicap match (last year it was Benoit vs Orton and HHH)

Tombstone: The History of the Undertaker
Jericholic82 replied to Slickster's topic in The WWE Folder
They are listing this on wwe shop.com (where you can preorder it by itself or a package with a tshirt) and the description is: "Features 21 of Undertaker’s Greatest Matches: Hulk Hogan- Survivor Series 1991, Yokozuna- Royal Rumble 1994, Diesel- WrestleMania XII, Mankind- In Your House Buried Alive, ********Bret Hart – In Your House: One Night Only(!)******, Shawn Michaels- In your House: Badd Blood, Kane- WrestleMania XIV, The Rock- King of the Ring 1999, Stone Cold Steve Austin- Fully Loaded 1999, Triple H WrestleMania X-7, Hulk Hogan- Judgment Day 2002 and much more!! Plus lots of extras, including vignettes, interviews, and other material." so the one night only match is on there? and if so I dont know why they think that show was an In Your House. There is a trailer available at the site as well. -
Londons pac man trunks made the show even better very interstign to say the least. Too bad Frankie is gone already as he had started to get maybe a little over and seemed comfortable working in WWE. cool to hear about that comp you are making RedJed. I wish I had taped velocity more often. I have all 3 of frnakies previous velocity matches but not this weeks.

Yea you do make sense there. However, why would Eddie stop, I mean he went back on his word after GAB so why would he just drop it now. His whole heel turn and feud with rey is based on him not beating Rey. I still see this feud continuing after SS even if Rey wins. PS lets stop discussing this in here, theyll get mad and there is already a thread for this angle.

Will one night stand stand the test of time
Jericholic82 replied to slabinskia's topic in The WWE Folder
Ok, I get it. I didnt mean the hturn stood the test of time, but to me it doesnt hurt wm x-7 as a show. and led to more fun moments for us the fans to witness. but yea it dnt do anything for business or revolutionzie the wwf, -
but its not even legal to do this for custody so it doesnt matter, eddie Could win. Besides Rey never legally adopted dom so he has no real legal right to him, but in real life the court would take that he raised the kid into considreation over a guy who gave away his own son. and if dom is 8 years old, then he was born in like 1997, when Eddie and Rey feuded in WCW so how do they explain them being friends in real life at that point? I guess WWE takes for granted that no one in their fanbase watched WCW

Rey Mysterio's son suffering "emotional distress"
Jericholic82 replied to UZI Suicide's topic in The WWE Folder
reys wife is not the mother, the kid in the angle that is was the result of eddie sleeping with some random ring rat or something. and eddie stated that he or the woman didnt want the kid (I guess Eddie didnt cuz he still loved his wife and didnt want to raise a kid out of his marriage-which ironically in real life he did father someone elses child while seperated from his wife in like the 01-02 era, he mentions it on his dvd ) and tazz and cole have stated that Eddie is using this secret to torture Rey, not that he cares, so it is being portryaed as what I said, at least by the announcers. and eddie wanted rey to hand over dom in the ring in front of everyone, so clearly he is just doing this to hurt Rey and his wife. -

a flop? It was the most entertaining austin has been since 98. and dare I say it, my favorite memories of him, and he was having kick-ass matches with jericho, benoit, angle, etc. perhaps financially a flop, but as afan no way. but thats all just my opinion so, I am not making fun of you or anything. ONS was a fun show that got it right better than any of us ever hoped for. It was the best it could be given the contraints of talent that could appear. Of course I didnt see it live I bought the dvd, but did not read the spoilers for it untill I saw it. However, I can see people voting for it as show of the year as you have mentioned here. -
ok I sold eddie for rey (you people better be right! my luck eddie will win...but rey may go and have a match on sd hopefully) and the sold maria and picked up melina for 2 grand (shes got a match on sd that she may likely win, a mixed tag no less with mercury vs booker/sharmell so it may even get specialtypoints) besides I probaly cant win now being in 929th place. I would just like to be in the leaderboard at least once, or finish in the top 10 and qualify for a prize as a distant hope.
-
cuz hes done nothing but job in this feud. and because if Rey wins, that just means Eddie will go back on his word again and the last month will mean nothing. and I have this bad feeling that WWE will pull a "Tyler Fullington" in this one. perhaps I will add rey also just to be safe.
-
its sad, but hogan is right, however it coming from him is completely hypocritical.
-
whats going on here? I just watched him have a great 5 min mtach with london on velocity wish I had taped it like I did his other 3 matches. and why did they want him to cut his hair? Hes still listed on the wwe fantasy roster. and yea orton did say he was the future of wrestling on sd, I knew something was up.

Rey Mysterio's son suffering "emotional distress"
Jericholic82 replied to UZI Suicide's topic in The WWE Folder
Its being portrayed as Eddie didnt care about the kid when he was born, so he gave him up to Rey. Now hes asking for him back, only to screw with Rey cuz hes mad that he cant beat him. eddie himself also called it "his new addiction" in a promo (that addiction being torturing rey and his family) however fighting over custody in a wrestling match is way too far fetched. even the horrible actress who played the custody observer said it best "you people a e a bunch of crazies" and why would rey trust eddie to step aside if he beat him? he already went back on his word after the GAB. as for why he has his mask on, well duh, if he took it off you could see how much Dominick looks like Rey. another funny thing was seeing rey next to his wife, who looked like Andre The Ginat in comparison. -
I saw it, it was funny how Trips getting angry and talking to the actors, sounded exactly how he does a promo or talks to someone in WWE on TV. I think I heard him muttering under his breath "I ought to get Vince to sign Ashton so I can squash him with the pedigree", but I could have been wrong

Hey I moved up in the rankings to 929th place WHOOPEE my picks (as of right now) for this week raw and sd and velocity/heat /summerslam Cena (99 percent sure hes retaining as Jericho never wins anymore) Hogan (DUH as if he's gonna lay down for shawn, but then agin...) Angle (will beat eugene at SS, will get some points for raw too) Maria (extra $1000 leftover) sd Batista (SHOULD retain) Orton (Gets the win this time) Eddie (He's got to be winning at SS right?) what do you think of my picks? Should I have went with Matt instead of Orton (like I originally planned) and shoudl I pick up rey instead of eddie, or maybe both rey and eddie?
-
I guess he knew Taker would accept cuz of his pride.
-
I dont think so, I guess cuz they said he would be out 6 more weeks, that means he would have to come back like the last week of the season and he wouldnt have enough time to get the rust off, especially if they do get in the playoffs. I just hope Wright is decent. I think Small should stay in the rotation for a while, but understandbly they want to get something from their investment in wright. Pavano however has not really been missed, as he was barely effective at all this year from the little I saw of him. If wright can pitch decent and randy's back holds up I think they will do just fine. Small and Chacon have been pleasant surprises and Moose is a gamer. To bad Wang is also still out, however. If Boston's offense goes cold, they may lose some games (if their pitching continues to give up 5,6, 7,8 runs a game) and obviously the WC is in reaching distance. and remember they have 6 more games against the red sox in sept/oct, if they hover around the 3 games back mark around that time, well you know. but that's just how I see it Mike. Never give up, cuz stranger things have happened.

oh yea forgot that was you. my bad. feel free to continue posting mccarverisms
