I almost threw my TV out the window during the backstage MNM segment. This is one of those rare moments, when I , as a hardcore WWE fan want to stop watching (and I was able to sit through the Katie Vick angle mind you.) However, I asuume the reason they thought up this whole "mole" (actually it reminds me more of the nurse on South Park with the dead fetus on her head) gimmick, is that Jillian looks like a million other "divas" they have used in the past. they want to give something of a gimmick to make her stand out, but unfortunately some idot at "creative" decided to look in the offical "12 year olds guide to comedy" book. The same thing just happened with Matt Morgan (though giving a guy whose only real strength was apprantly his mic skills a stuttering gimmick was clearly a terrible idea). As for MNM, I am not that impressed, but then again they haven't been given that much TV time for me to get a real look at them. I did like the 15 min iron man match vs Haas and Holly on Sd a while back, though. I agree on how they apparantly want to push the manager over the team again. as well as how its dumb for them to have photographers following them without revealing that they pay them to do that. They infer it a tad, but dont go anywhere with it. This helps to confuse the general audence, who don't have a clue as to what they are supposed to think of MNM. My prediction is that this instant wrestlecrap moment will only last a short while and be forgotten about (and never emntioned on tv again). Hopefully MNM will regain the tag titles (I have no real problem with them losing to Heidi/Animal just for a nice tribute to Hawk-so as long as they regain the title soon)and be able to prove themselves for once.

Who is going to stop watching raw when mnf starts
Jericholic82 replied to slabinskia's topic in The WWE Folder
I live here on the west and get cable so I get the time delayed to 9 feed. However I never miss RAW, so MNF is not even a blip on my radar. The only time I'll even watch it is if my Giants are playing. But besides it starts at 6 so I can pretty m uch watch the whole game if I wanted to. MNF isnt on ESPN untill 2006 btw, so no theismann yet. However when he does do it next year, it would be cool, only if they showed LT b reaking his leg at the start of every broadcast -
WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
Jericholic82 replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Steiner did the run in, cuz his gimmick at the time was that of a crazy, "loose cannon" type. He was the champ at the time (this was early 2001 actually) and after sin whenere sid broke his leg, scott went on a rampage "breaking peoples legs" he attacked daniels and modest and "broke their legs" with a lead pipe (notice how this sounds real similar to lex lugers breaking peopels arms in early 2000) the best part was Steiner kicking one of the emts who came into the ring, thinking they were plants, when in fact they were real emts and infact they sued steiner IIRC. -
Let's discuss Late Night Talk Shows
Jericholic82 replied to UZI Suicide's topic in Television & Film
I agree, the guests on JKL are usually willing to talk and have fun rather than plug stuff. Btw for the wrestling fans like me here, Cena was on it last Friday and came across as a real wrestling fan and you can tell he loves what he does.. I like the show overall and it is the only show I will watch every night religiously (other than conan though its on at the same time so I have to catch the conan replay on cable the next day often) , regardless of the guests, cuz I usually enjoy his monolouge style and jokes (and the bits with Uncle Frank and Cousin sal of course). I also hope NBC wont water down Conan when he gets the Tonight Show gig, though I do believe he deserves it. I dont really like Lenos show anymore and hardly watch it, save for "Headlines" segments. Conan would likely also have to move to Cali for Tonight Show and I have a feeling that a lot of his humor wont appeal to the laid back LA audience and a lot of his stuff might even go over the heads of the people there (trust me I know from expereience) -
well at least this one focused on an actual story-plot for once, which has been the major complaint on these threads lately. I enjoyed it, as I usually do with FG. The four peters had me rotfl for no real reason that I can comprehend. so did Stewie talking on the toy phone to sesame street muppets. Cookie monster in rehab was great.

Simpsons Season 6 DVD Set Complaint
Jericholic82 replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Television & Film
Im also crazy obssesed with my dvds/cds games being in perfect condition (COVERS TOO) . I bought wm 19 dvd at best buy last december and when I opened it, found that Disc 1 had fallen out of the holder and thus was free floating in the case. But it only got 2 small minor smudge scratches, it still worked but it bothered me. I never bothered to return it, cuz I figured the store would not have another copy in stock considering I had seen just this one copy in the store for months. Anyhow, I havent bought any simpsons dvds yet despite being a huge lifelong fan. But I may pick up this one first considering it has a lot of my personal favs in it. The critic one is great, if only for "Man Getting Hit By Football" -
WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
Jericholic82 replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Yeah, basically. Just another face in the nWo beatdowns and the only nWo guy you'd see on Worldwide or Pro. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually there's a little more to the story. As I remember it, after Bischoff joined the nWo he stated that everyone in WCW had 30 days or so to convert their WCW contracts to nWo contracts. Ray Traylor I think tried to join after the 30 days was up and WCW officials would not allow this so instead of wrestling in an nWo shirt, he wrestled in a WCW shirt with a red X over the WCW logo. I think that was the basic jist of it, if not the exact details. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no you're thinking of VK Wallstreet AKA IRS AKA Mike Rotunda, he did the whole shirt with the x through it gimmick. Big Bubba Rogers (Traylor) , then a member of the Dungeon of Doom and having nothing of note to do since feuding with John "I'm Not A fish" Tenta in mid 96, joined the nWo in an in ring battle between nwo and wcws various factions on a nitro in decemberish 96 (Wallstreet also turned on wcw during that brawl) . He got hurt or somethin and came back in 97 and asked why no one had called to check on him and turned face. He then said he was no longer big bubba and would now finally use his real name. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> *sigh* This is what I get for acting like I actually know something. Oh well, sorry if these have already been asked but: Were there ever actually any plans for the Dustin Rhodes Se7en gimmick, or was the whole point for it to just lead up to that worked shoot interview Dustin gave? I vaguely remember on a Nitro in 2000 a match between Mike Modest and Christopher Daniels. I think it was a tryout for both of them. What ever became if this? I think Scott Steiner did a run in and destroyed them both, but why? Why was Rick Martel so abrubtly dropped in 1998? He came in, was having the matches of his career with Booker T and had a hot feud with him over the TV title, but was gone after one PPV. Injury? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey dont feel bad wcw confused everyone. Besides you rememebered the red x shirt thing. The se7en gimmick was supposed to be a real characater for dustin, but it got dropped when russo took over, I believe. Rick Martel indeed suffered a knee injury IIRC and thus had to leave wcw to rehab. I think he never wrestled again. -
and the best part was that in the next match on the card, the booker t/jarrett world title match, the announcers went back to "kayfabe" mode. as "useless moron" scott keith once put it, Russos shoot-style angles were basically telling the fans "Everything you see is fake, except for this right now, this is real" Actually Bischoff as the hummer driver makes a lot of sense. Remember Bischoff had returned (he had left after flair won the "wcw presidency" and world title from hoagn at uncensored 99) at slamboree 99 and turned face by reversing a bad call and letting nash continue his match vs ddp, and he won the title. In july 99, sting beat Ric Flair to win the wcw presidency. The preisdent angle was dropped after the match and never mentioned again, the rumors on the net at the time were thatsting was going to give the preisdency back to bischoff. so infact then eric could have been revealed as the hummer driver after he was president again and turned heel in the process.

having benoit and mnm for last week killed me. for this week, i had angle, carlito, bischoff, maria, edge, and kane for raw. angle only got 16 pts this week. should have picked masters even if it only was a handicap regular match he still got 17 points or so. for sd I picked animal and hedi and batista. This week kills me as well.

WM 14 didn't use the scracth logo, maybe only on the mics, but they were still using the classic logo on the corners, entrance way, etc. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They used the scratch logo for scene transitions. Very big scratch logo too, IIRC. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The scratch wwf logo was also on the ring apron too remember they also tend to blur out people in the stands wearing srcatch logo shirts hats or signs so that might be a prob. and remember the massive amounts of music editing needed for wm 1 (for hogan, richter with lauper, JYd, etc) I own the legacy vhs box set of 1-14 (which cost 149 bucks btw)and oddly enough they dont edit any music from wm 1 but just to have 1-14 on dvd is cool to me, and is long overdue.

I figured Hogan was only going to be around through Summerslam (to promote his show) so a heel turn would seem out of the question. If he sticks aroudn after that, then iot will be overkill and the fans will crap on it again. Small does of Hogan are fine, but every week? ughhhh

IIRC it took about 10-12 minutes, I showed up there at night and waited untill 12:00 which is time she is supposed to show up at , and indded at 12 pm she showed up. It may vary, however. Just sit there as long as it takes.

Thats WCW in a nut shell. They put Harlem Heat, striclty tag team at the time in a 4 way vs Luger And Giant (who also were teaming at that point). Any fan knew that only Luger or Ginat had a chance at winning the thing. I did see the video finally and it is indeed classic.

It some kind of famous cowboy I believe, I want to say Wyatt Earp but am not sure. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, it's Doc Holliday. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks, I knew it was one of those guys.

If they really were going to do Shawn/HHH at Mania 17, it would have been without buildup, cmon shawn coming back a week before the show? There wouldnt be enough time to properly build up the match. Taker/HHH wasnt that good anyway, so I suppose HHH/Lewis wouldnt have been that much worse. But of course to me HHH would have been the face in that match, as Lewis' Ravens beat my Giants in the Super Bowl that year.
-
IMO the reason why its been so wishy-washy is that Shawn and/or WWE wants him to be a face after this whole thing blows over. They porbably have no plans for Shawn as a long-term heel and just wanted to milk some extra money out of the customers hands. (but then again, are you really going to pay 34.95 to see a 40 year old shawn vs a way over the hill hogan?) But I could be wrong and it's just that "Creative" is having writers block again.

Tim White is still hurt isnt he? He got hurt (his shoulder) in the HHH/jericho HIAC at Judgment Day 02 and hasnt been the same since. he came back for Wm 20 and reffed the Jericho/Christian match, but reinjured the shoulder during the final 3 count allegedly. So I guess hes retired as a ref now. And even as A Bret Hart fan I have now came to my final concluson and say that indeed Bret Screwed Bret. He asked for it, he got it....TOYOTA

Need a reliable product to pass a drug test
Jericholic82 replied to Matt Young's topic in General Chat
Line of the month Lushus. That's a great motto That should be on a t-shirt . Of course I would know nothing about any of this cuz I dont smoke weed or do any kind of drugs. So you may not want to listen to my opinion. -
English muffins are ok, but I don't like them that much. They are fune with a fried egg on them on just with butter and jelly.

Papa John's is probably the best chain here, but thats not saying much. But they often wind up burning the pizza as well.

Andre is a good choice. The heat he got at Wm 3 was pretty epic. You gotta love him smiling and waving like nothing was wrong as they threw trash at him and Heenan while they were riding in the cart.

Thank god that deal fell through. Yikes can you imagine that match? LT/Bigelow it wouldn't be I don't think.

Hey is Tom Gordon hurt? otherwise I dont understand why Torre sent Wayne Franklin (who?) out for the 8th.....UNLESS he was planning on using Gordon in the 9th cuz Rivera had saved three straight games. Eh what can you do? That's the worst kind of loss though , cuz Moose gave 6 solid innings. How bizzare for a pitcher's duel to break out a day after a slugfest. I guess they scored themselves out last night I have a feeling that there is going to be a lot of jockeying for position for first in the coming weeks. Yea the Os are still there too and I didnt forget them. Yanks need to come back and take the game tommorrow to take the series. ESPN is going to show the game tomorrow so at least I'll get to see it. How much did you pay for the extra innings package dude? cuz here Adelphia is still charging the same price as the start of the season. Maybe next year I'll finally order it as I have gone 1 and a half seasons without getting it. I sure hope Cashman has some secret deals planned.
