and Kristy survives again. Can't belive Carly was in the bottom 3 with a stronger perfomance this week. So if anyone goes to the tour you'll see Robotic Country Singer Kristy. and they got rid of perhaps their one unique singer in Amanda.(even if she was getting boring a bit) I still wish they would have kept Asia'h instead of Kristy or Syesha.

Let's Talk About... The 1993 Survivor Series
Jericholic82 replied to LivingLegendGaryColeman's topic in General Wrestling
I didn't get to see the show live (cuz our "black box" stopped working ) so I was so upset. A few days after xmas that year my cousin rented it and we watched it. Never saw it again untill 24/7 had it on last year. I actually quite enjoyed the show. Nothing really sucked too bad outside of the doink nonsense, and the faces went over to boot (outside of the smw match that no one cared about anyhow) -
thanks for letting me know the runtime of the mania discussion cuz optimum has it listed as 1min long (they did the same thing for wm 8)
-
sorry about the double post.
-
That was so weird to actually see Benoit on 24/7, so they edit his comments, yet let Tony say "crippler crossface"? I'm confused
-
on the topic of the generic themes, It's funny how WWE will edit some of the wcw generic themes on 24/7 and dvds. Like I was just watching the 6/23/97 Nitro and they edited out 1.Jericho's baseball tonight theme, 2. Alex Wright's music, 3. La Parka's theme. yet kept everything else like Chavos first generic theme (his actual first theme was Eddy's old wcw generic theme)
-
I really wish they would air these in some sort of chronological order. Outside of that, fun times.

Betcha WWE wishes it hadn't splashed that logo all over everything back then. After awhile it does look like you are watching a bunch of blurs fight. Anyhow a couple of weeks ago, I was watching the Raw before wm 18 and then the ppv itself it's really funny seeing them have the real nwo theme and trishs themes intact on raw, and the ppv edits them (obviously they take the wms off of the dvd anthology, its not like they would rerecord them and in the case of 18 have to re-blur them) This whole theme edits thing gives me a headache. And on a side note, I haven't had the video skipping and freezing problem for the past 2 weeks (outside of a quick one or two somewhere) , so I'll keep my fingers crossed for the time being. Damn I don't visit the site for 2 weeks or so and you put on a 24/7 folder. Actually that's a good idea. Thanks Moderators.

Yea I got the RAW dvd at Walmart Too and it didn't have a 4th disc, but then again it wasn't advertised on the cover either. Perhaps it was a limited time only deal? anyhow Deep Discount is listing for preorder Wm 24 Blu-Ray Disc. Interesting. They have it for 33 bucks and change instead of the list price of 50 bucks. I guess from WM one we can expect all the ppvs to be available on Blu-Ray?

I purposely looked at old videos to see his hands, as they're the only body parts visible in his costume (besides eyes), and Daniels does have very veiny/wrinkled hands. But the way you know its him is cuz of the eyes. I was just calling to attention minor details here.

Raven? when was he in XPW? -
so Danny is this years "guy who most can't stand and think will be cut every week, but lasts way too long" or as it has been renamed "The Sanjaya Spot" for me the guy I can't stand so far is Luke, and he didn't even get cut. last weeks shows were pretty brutal. The contestants are just not connecting with the songs they sing and that may be due to how young most of them are. But I would think after a while and some seasoning, they will get better. Too bad fox doesn't want too much guest judges anymore, cuz I think they really help the contestants behind the scenes. My early fav is David A. Then again I always like someone who most don't (ie Phil Stacey last Year, "Creepy" Scott Savol, etc) so this is a first for me, liking an actual favorite to win.

I just happened across the show the other night and saw Megan from Beauty and the Geek on it. Didnt realize she's been on all these shows, but I should have known, as most reality shows use models (remember some wwe diva search rejects being on flavor of love already) she came across way different on Beauty... Seemed almost nice. Funny cuz the reason her team won the show was that the other losers got to vote on it and the hated the girl on the other team for being a self-absorbed bitch.

Angel the complete series on DVD $55.99 @ Amazon.com

too bad I bought all the seasons individually already, the complete set box looks damn cool -
you forgot the "excellent" with a sad tone. anyhow great episode. "Some say maybe Joe used to sit on that bench with those ducks" the helper monkey was fun as it kinda turned into Homer, when Homer told marge he could do tricks, and he lazily got up and failed to do his trick . "The highly anticipated fight between Kearney and Mr. Largo ended in a disqualification, for use of dog-doo on a stick"

One of my favorite Manias watched live. Me and my friend had so much fun watching the show, and the gimmick battle royal had us marking like little kids. Top to bottom, the best of all time. Though it loses some luster if you watch it too much. Nothing could top seeing this live on ppv. and yes this time period in WWE was one of the best
-
Like when Ladd reffered to Dick Butkus as "Mike Ditka" during the battle royal. Anyhow this show isn't that great of course, but still has that fun 80's feel. The faces went over in two of the bigger title matches, and there was some stuff in there to distract from the crap. still not required viewing for a new fan, unless they just want to see every wm (like me back in the day)
-
Will have to tape this stuff tonight since I got to work in the morning. Still hoping they will soon show GWF stuff.

just watched the snme. I was rolling on the floor when Fuji was shown backstage, he was holding the ice pack over his hat, which he hadn't taken off. I never knew there was an angle with Fuji and Heenan being in cohoots with the Bundy attack on Hogan. Great commentray by Jesse during the Hogan match. I love him pointing out to Mcmahon all the times Hogan cheats blatanly and gets away with it. He starts off all happy, then suddenly gets hushed "I believe he is unconcious" He seemed to be selling the seriousness of the angle, while he is happy to see Hogan hurt, he seems to realize he could be hurt very badly and kinda subconciously feels a bit bad. The tag match was also good. All in all, a fun show.

There's not liking the match and actively booing it. I thought the match was good myself, but not many agree with me. This is very noticeable. A couple edits I note. Mike Adamle's botch of Hardy's name is missing. Taker's legdrop on Snitsky through a table is now seen live. I know WWE does this all the time, it just interests me having seen the show live and now in edited form. One odd thing that remained though is the "Wrestlemania: 63 Days away" spot. WWE needs to take out those spots meant for the live show. Yea I just watched the dvd last night and thought after the match, what happened to the bulldog spot? But they edited it very well as I didn't even catch the edit at first. being there live, the crowd booed the blown move, but the reason for all the booing seemed to be that everyone was bored by the match. Plus I see that Jericho was bleeding worse than I thought live, as I only saw it on the scoreboard screen, as I was sitting directly across the room from the WM 24 sign, so I couldn't see the Entranceway and Titan Tron Other notes: I knew they would cover Admale's blunder. Live, the crowd laughed alot when he made the botch, at least in my section all the way upstairs. so the taker legdrop wasn't seen live? I remember not knowing who Taker was doing it to, but saw it happen. It's hard to tell from so far away. But they didn't cover up the boos for Rey and cheers for Edge. Cena's entrance pop surprised me, cuz it sounded even louder on TV than it did live. Then again that also depended on where you were sitting I suppose. side note, I finally got the RAW anniv. dvd. Cool lenticular cover on it. Sad to see they hacked the Flair/Hennig match to bits, but marked out for the kid/razor match and shawn/marty match (though note to WWE:that match wasn't the one voted MOTY by PWI, though I'm sure everyone mentioned that already)
-
How did they get away with that one? I was just watching the dvd of Final Resolution 07 and the PCS finals match with Shelley/Starr is hilarious with Backlunds scorecard reading, and nash's commentary.
-
You see that's why I like Kimmel's show, he has this weird sense of humor and isn't afraid to do crazy stuff like that, he's kinda like Conan-lite, but almost as twisted. And Harrison Ford totally had me ROTFL

The only thing with this was there was no closure to it. The RTC had some infighting post-wm 17, but then dissappeared completely. Stevie returned in September with Kronik by his side to take out Undertaker, who he blamed for the end of the RTC somehow (It had to do with Taker beating the RTC in a handicap match in April, which led to the infighting). Venis and Godfather wouldnt return until the Rumble 02. My point is yea Stevie kinda said it was over, but they never did an angle with the breakup (it should have been godfather and venis vs stevie and Bull IMO). All in all, a passable mid-card act that got Stevie over as a heel really well (the crowds HATED him, and not in an X-Pac way) since he's such a good talker. But it's not really all that memorable, although I guess a little bit since we have a thread about them.

I can't really complain with the cuts, they were very appropriate. Too bad I forgot to watch the show
