Movies you've seen WAY too many times
Jericholic82 replied to Epic Reine's topic in Television & Film
DUDE! Finally another person on TSM who likes that movie! I can't believe I forgot to mention it in this thread. It's classic. they have it on DVD? Sweet I want it. I must have seen this movie over 50 times already, especially since they kept showing it on Comedy Central. My dad and I love this movie and often quote from it as well. My other fav parts "You think you could also fax a copy of that diploma?" "What are you doing steve? Throwing plates." Steve cutting off Tony Bennet and singing I left My Heart In San Francisco, then later at the world series, Tony is getting ready to sing the anthem and asks Steve "Are you going to sing this one for me too?" Steinbrenner pouring a glass of wine for Al, then asking him for money About steve coming down in the helicopter "Gee I wonder whose idea it really was? Steinbrenner: Well it's mine now, stupid." On top of the stadium, Al promises to do laundry with steve after the game "I'll buy the bleach. steve: "You see you dont get it, you really dont need bleach, you just need to take a lemon and cut it in half.... " al: uh steve we'll talk about that later. -
Thats a bit high no? Yea I get that its rare, but that much for a used copy? YEA RIGHT< Who Am I kidding, when I get the moeny saved up I might even give you guys a ring lol.

We probably should stop speculating because no one knows for sure except those involved. And Bret has been so bitchy due to his mistreatment that he has never been completely honest about everything IMO.

But that was well in Heenans character, he never liked Hogan and always said he was no good. But it was the only black spot on the excellent surprise. Goldberg signing a WWE contact was announced at least a week prior to WM 19, with the Magazine cover being one of the major signs. People thought it was a fake but I was one of the few who correctly said it wasn't. (The argument was that the pic was from a wcw show, but as IO said Berg hadnt appeared at a wwe show yet so there would be no pic to use) The problem was them showing the promo at Mania instead of just waiting for RAW for him to shockingly appear. Then of course they showed him walking backstage as he came out, again a stupid thing. As for Kerwin White, I'm assuming the name Kerwin is used cuz of that guy who works for WWE named Kerwin Stifies or something like that, as I have never heard of another man named Kerwin in my life. You should check out wwe.com right now cuz they have a new promo from KW, where he rips off Chris Rock and says "It's all right, cuz it's all white"

You hit it right on the head there, I commend you for taking the stand. MNM have no heat. And why would they the gimmick is all the way generic cockyheels, except for the "Hollywood players" part , which makes little sense unless they are lying and paying off those "Paparazzi" to take pictures of them. Anyhow back to Rey/Eddie. Perhaps Eddie's secret is not that he is the father, but that Rey's wife cheated with someone else in the past and he is the father. But Rey patched up with his wife and they promised to never tell the kid and Eddie promised to keep that a secret as well. But no one has answered my question yet, why was Dominick so happy to see Eddie at his daycare thingy when Eddie had been beating up his dad for weeks on TV? As I said before, I guess we are supposed to assume Rey didn't let his kids see that, but come on here. welcome to wwe with the only thing bigger than Hunter's ego is the plot holes.

Good question and what about WCW? cuz they probabyl have to edit out some of the thtems they dont have rights too, though I thought they bought the music library (but alot ofwcws themes were stock music anyhow liek Booker T's which he still has after over 12 years) Also they proabbly have to cut out any of Michael Buffers ring announcements. and about BATB 96, did they show the fan running into the ring during the Hogan promo? Cuz I hear dthey showed that on the nWo dvd, but my vhs Turner Home Video copy edited that out. And I agree Lushus on the rey/psychosis match, its one of the best PPV openers ever IMO. and The Nasty Boys/ Public Enemey match is fun, epsecially for the commetary with Dusty/Heenan/Schiavone. ("He's beating a man with a rubber shark" "Two count on the surfoboard") Any idea when Socal Adelphia will get it? Adelphia was acquired by timewarner/comacast but they havent changed over yet here. and also does NY get it? and which cable cos if so?

Man I got to make sure to have a tape ready, I mean I usually watch anyway but I'd like to record that one.

A rock ripoff chacater? maybe towards the end but I best remember Booker as A singles guy, during his initial TV title reign and push. He was energetic, had a wide arsenal of moves(his finishers included a missle dropkick, the scissors kick, and the Harlem Hangover, which we haven't really seen since he nearly killed HHH with it at WM 19 ), and had a great series with Benoit and even had some good matches with Fit Finlay. Therefore in a markish sort of way I liked him then and continued to. I was happy that he got a chance at the main event in wcw in 2000 cuz it was something different. By the end of WCW, he was probably the company's top babyface. The Invasion killed that by forcing him into a goofy bumbling heel, though while at times very entertaining, made him a joke and a non-credible wrestler to WWF fans who may not have known him previously. Oddly enough it was his goofiness with Goldust that finally won over the WWE fans. Unfortunately, WWE waited far too long to put the tag belts on them and when they finally won them, inexplicably lost them in a few weeks and disbanded the team. They threw Booker into the main event level out of nowhere again and allowed him to be buried by Trips (though in the buildup, Booker tended to get the upper hand, but Trips' supposed racist comments and nonchalent attitude hurt his credibility-and remember Booker T pinned HHH twice in tag matches in November 2002 and March 03, but of course in the grand stage HHH was allowed to both kick out of the devasting looking Hangover and take 15 minutes to pin him after the pedigree, thereby reminding everyone who the real star was) He clearly has not been the same since and has lost his drive and ethusiasm, as evident to those who have watched him closely in the ring. Next they threw him into the IC level which wasn't a bad idea to help build him back up, but again stupidly joobed him in his own hometown of Houston AGAIN to Christian at Bad Blood 03, thus killing his momentum again. He won the title on a RAW and seemed poised to make a big defense at Sumemrslam, but his back injuries flared up and he had to drop the title right away. When he returned in October, he got a big pop for his entrance and the fans seemed ready to rally behind him again, so what does WWE creative do? If you said making him one of Austins lapdogs and have him jobbing in the 8man tag match at Survivor Series-then feuding with Mark Henry over , presumably, who was blacker, you might have a future with WWE. 2004 came and had little for the Book man, he got nice reactions during the rumble but that was to no avail. He was thrown together with RVD to form a rather bland and boring team that won the tag blets from Flair and Batista, but jobbed them and Booker was traded to SD. Despite the SD fans wanting to cheer him, they made him a selfish, pompous heel who hated being there. No matter cuz on that night he appeared ready to feud with Eddie Guerrero over the WWE Title. They had a non-title match to main event SD and all was right with the world. But near the end, the new heel and newl ychristened JBL made his way to ringside and beat up Eddie. Despite Booker being far more qualified than Bradshaw, JBL was given the title shot, onscreen by angle depsite him not even competing in the Angle Great American Award mini-tourney. Booker had nothing to do, excpet get confronted by the old man Undertaker and have to act scared and resort to Voodoo. After that disgrace, Booker entered the US title scene and even won the belt. OK, then he got set with a best of 5 series with Cena for the title, ok good enough. The matches sucked but at least he was being spotlighted and the crowd seemed to accept him as a heel. But after he lost the 5th match, he was suddenly turned face and immediately set to challenge JBL at Survivor Series. It's tough to maintain cred when you switch from heel to face so much so quick, but the people seemed to at leats buy him as a threat (well they bought everyone as a threat as we all kept thinking "There's no way JBL's lasting another month with the title"). But poor Booker had to play second-fiddle to Josh Freakin Matthews and jobbed again in the main event. He got another shot at Armageddon but it was he who had to job, only after Taker got his visual pinfall so he didnt lose his precious heat. 2005 has been an absolute nothing year for Book, as the best the guy got was winning a non-televised battle royal at wm 21. But hey a feud with Angle was set up by them costing each other the #1 contenders elimination match . SO ok theyll have a PPV match Cool enough as Angle can make him look good at least. BUT............we all know what happened there and since then Booker has had to play second-fiddle to his wife and regress back 2 years to feud with Christian. So if Booker really is unmotivated and uncaring in the ring, can you really blame him? Hell he's better off retiring before he gets embarrased even more.

Is that the one from IYH:Cold Day In Hell (Shamrock's WWF debut match)?
-
Yep they did and Power and Glory got face pops for beating them up and for the win.
-
Taker had great matches with RVD back in 2001 and 2002, and Brock's matches against Show are extremely overrated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The fuck they are. The stretcher match at Judgment Day was the most entertaining match Big Show's had in his life, and totally made the show, even with a dead feud going in. Big Show might not be capable of a ****+ singles match, but it was as close to **** as he's capable of going. The Smackdown match where the ring broke was entertaining as well, and then the Triple Threat at Vengeance with Angle was the best triple threat match in WWE history. Brock does some incredible things where you don't believe he'll be able to. I bet the guy could even work a **** match with Booker T. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So the Triple threat was better than the previous year's Vengeance one (Taker Vs Rock Vs Angle)? I have never seen it and was wondering how good it was compared to that one, which I thought was the best triple threat WWE match I had ever seen.

Thanks for the info. I have never seen the show so obviously didnt know the undercard.

I thought the same thing.

It's not a big shock that more fans attend the games when the team wins. You see that all the time.

Great spots from Wrestling Video Games
Jericholic82 replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Video Games
I have used the ladder code, it works great. Theres also another code that allows you to stand up the ladder on the announce table, but I don't know it offhand. Actually there's a lot of cool GS codes for No Meryc so do a search for them. -
Another note, UPW would get sued if more than 3 people bought the dvds. They used both Jimmy Snukas, and Shamrocks WWF themes, as well as using "Hey Ya" during the party segment and Britney Spears' "Toxic" in the feature on the UPW dancers. Wish wwe could get away with this huh?

Hope this belongs in this the Movies section and not the other wrestling sec, but feel free to move it if needed. Hey Yesterday I was at Suncoast and they had this dvd from UPW called Pro wrestling Superstars. It appears to be a UPW live show featuring some big names like DDP, Rikishi,Konnan, Chyna/Joanie Laurer, Psychosis, Roddy Piper, Ken Shamrock and others. As well as some other Top indy names like Frankie Kazarian, Jerry Lynn, Hardkore Kidd (Jesus in WWE) and many other. It was only 7.99 so I said "what the heck" and bought it. Plus the extras include a Joanie musical performance, and that's wrestlecrap, so I'm so there! I haven't watched it yet, but popped it in for a quick look annd DOES IT EVER LOOK CRAPPILY DONE. I mean yea I expect crappy cameras and mono sound, but it looks so pixilated on a bigger tv cuz it is rather dark. It looks better on my 13 in tv using my PS2 and my other DVD player is a cheap APEX one so who knows, but it is very poorly done. Anyhoo, after I see it I will give a quick review for all you who might care.

BLASPHAMEY!!!!!!! Anyhow, I think House deserved a best drama nod, but I'm glad that Hugh got the actor nom, but clearly he wont win it, I would vote for him (but thats basically cuz I have not see any of the other shows nominated) I'm not the best to talk about these awards, since I don't watch most of these shows. So sue me, the only shows I watch religously are RAW and SD Heat and Raw to a lesser extent, The Simpsons, South Park,Family Guy/AD, and House. And I agree on Conan, he's the best late night guy and his writers also deserve some awards.

Regarding the Bulldog issue, its Vince who makes the final decisions. If he wanted he could have just pulled Shawn out of the match and inserted Hunter, and if that didnt work insert some random opponent. He did not have to listen to Shawn. I mean its not like k this was a worldwide big PPV event. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just an insurance policy incase of defection after they told Bret to get the "F" out . Not that I believe Shawn is totally above throwing a tantrum, cuz I can see that happening and clearly that would be pretty horrible of him to do to Davey.

How do we know the secret is that hes the kids father? I bet WWE hasn't even decided on what it will be yet (much like the higher/greater power). Him being the father is all well and good, EXCEPT for the fact that Dominick looks exactly like Rey (but of course WWE would like you to believe Rey has never unmasked) And once again how come no one has complained about the fact that the kid apparantly had no idea Eddie had turned on his father and was beating him up several times on TV. I guess we are to assume Rey didn't let his kids watch that, but whats the chance his son didnt read Sd magazine or somethin? Pretty dumb I know but it bothers me. Anyhoo, I marked for Animal. Indeed a nice beer guy and a nice 80s style promo as well. The crack at Hawk was in bad taste, but in reality nothing more than cheap heat since MNM can't draw any heat on their own (well outside of Melina) Yea cuz the world was just clamoring for the tag team of Heidenreich and Animal.

One and Only "ECW: One Night Stand" Thread
Jericholic82 replied to GreatWhiteNope's topic in The WWE Folder
I read at 441mania that the reason it was not sold was because the ONS dvd was selling so well on its own, there was no need for the bundle, so take that for what it's worth. -
yep they did, check the first page of this thread

I watched a few matches so far annd the video and sound quality (you can't even hear the crowd in most of the matches cuz of the commentary dubbed over and you have to lower the volume cuz of a loud hissing noise. really makes it hard to enjoy it. Lynn/Kazarian/Karagia is not good at all IMO and features the same spots you have seen repeated iNnTNA for a while now. Shamrock/Predator is a long, boring match. Actually I did notice that this was not all from 1 show but from a few diffferent ones, and paprantly some of them were from the UPW tv show (especially the skits obivously). The skits are lame and not even as so bad its good like XPW's and not too funny as well. Though Adam Pearce wiping his ass by tearing out pages of DDP's book was pretty funny. Joanie's singing was "classic crap" and the audience response was great. Someone keeps yelling out Triple H. All in all, WHY DID I BUY THIS CRAP? I had seen a review for another UPW dvd online and it was given a favorable review and they never mentioned the qulaity being that bad LIARS. I don't even have any drive to finish watching it, but I probably will since I actually paid for it. I think I bought it cuz you never seen any dvds for under 10 bucks at Suncoast usually. Good thing I din't but the other dvd of UPW they had (it was a used copy of a show for like 4.50) Hell those before they were stars dvds of like Austin and Foley were way better produced than these. OH WELL, LIVE AND LEARN

The Story of XTREME PRO WRESTLING
Jericholic82 replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Hey I actually saw Baptized in Blood 1 dvd (with Candido and Douglas on the cover) at sam goody the other day. It was selling for 14.99, but I didn't pick it up cuz I didn't have enough cash . Damn! I haven't seen any XPW videos in a store in a while.
