    "World" Title Confusion

I don't agree. In fact I think the buildup for the HIAC has been less that I imagined. IMO Cena is being treated like a star and is the main focus of raw for the future (cmon he got to beat Hassan). I don't think WWE can or will bury Cena right noe. He is far too hot and can have mucho crossover appeal, which Vince loves. If he does get buried, I wish the whole locker room would just walk out and give Vince the message.

    Strange storyline/angle ideas:

That was kind of how Nidia debuted. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They used it in 99 with Tori (the one who wound up with kane, then xpac). She showed up in the crowds to watch sables matches, then started to come out and help her in the ring. Then Sable wa sin playboy and inexplicably turned heel because of "having an ego" and taunted the stalker until she snapped and challanged Sable for WM 15 for the womens title. Nidia was the one sending mysterious letters to Hurricane in 02, supposably being his former girlfriend (though she hadnt been on wwe tv in many months after winning tough enough) anyhow, I like that mentor-student one. I have one for you. It derives from the current sd scene. Next week (asumming rey is drafted to raw), Eddie is backstage moping about losing to Rey and now maybe not having a chance to get his revenge. Benoit comes into the room, and asks eddie whats wrong? Eddie replies, telling Benoit to stop pestering him and making fun of his inability to beat Rey. He then goes on to say "haven't you done enough, chris?" Benoit can't get a word in, so he just leaves. Later on, Benoit is in that 6 way match for the new sd title. He lasts all the way to the end, left in there with only Taker. As Taker is ready to finish off Benoit ,Eddie comes to ringside. Taker is distracted long enough for Benoit to retake the advantage. He goes up top for the headbutt, but Eddie stops him and pushes him off the top. Taker gets benoit and hits the tombstone for the 3 count and title. The show ends with taker celebrating, and Eddie looking on, forelorn, but satisfied. Next week, Benoit is angry, so he challenges Eddie to a match. Long comes out and make sit official, adding that the winner will be the number one contender. The match comes and goes off well, a hell of a match. Near the end, Eddie loses his balance while trying a frogsplash and falls on his arm (thus reminding us of his first wwf match where he hurt his elbow). Benoit feels bad, checks on eddie, but when he comes closer, eddie snatches him up in a small package and grabs the tights for the win. Benoit ends the show looking angry and dejected, having lost two weeks in a row. Eddie gets the title shot at Great American Bash, one year after losing his wwe title at the very event. The match is back and forth action. Midway through, we get a ref bump, as Eddie ducks a Taker clothesline and he hits the ref. Eddie goes outside and grabs the belt, gesturing that hes going to use it. But as he holds it up, Benoit rushes from nowhere and nails Eddie with a viscious clothesline. Benoit gets a chair and threatens Eddie, deciding on wrapping his bad arm in the chair and trying to pillmanize him. As he mounts the ropes, he is stopped by several wwe officials and agents. Benoit pushes them aside and climbs again, but is stopped by agent Dean Malenko. Dean pleads with Chris not to do it, and audibly asks "what are you doing Chris, haven't you done enough to him?" (thus getting Tazz and Cole to remember what Eddie had said and ask "what does this mean? what is it about?). The officals restrain Benoit and get him out of the ring, as Eddie gets up slowly. Taker is lying in wait, as the ref is just coming to, he grabs the throat for the chokeslam, but Eddie reverses into a tornando ddt, onto the belt which is still in the ring. Eddie goes up and hits the frogsplash and gets the pin and the title. (yes the shades of his his first title win vs lesnar are evident, purposely). Eddie is just pouring emotion out and crying in the ring, looking sort of happy for the first time since he turned on Rey. On the following Smackdown, Tazz interviews Benoit in the ring to ask him what is the whole deal with him and Eddie. Benoit replies simply "eddie doesn't seem to realize what is good for him, I thought he learned 4 years ago, but I was wrong" as the announcers and fans are mystified, Dean Malenko appears to intterupt. He grabs the mike and says "Chris, why can't you be a man and admit you were wrong? You have done quite enough to Eddie. he doesn't deserve this, no human being does." Benoit looks to the side, the blasts Dean with a clothesline and puts him int he crossface, Dean taps fanatically, as Benoit yells "Cmon Eddie, you're nothing, you're no good, it's my time. Stop being so damn selfish" The next week, Eddie is interviewed in the ring and when asked he breaks out into tears and can't speak, Dean comes out to console him but Eddie will have none of it and just leaves. Tazz grabs dean and puts him on the spot asking "what is this about? cmon you can tell me I have known you guys for years, you can tell me." Dean picks up the mic and starts to tell a story. "Well you see Tazz, this all goes back a long time long faraway. You know where Tazz, Japan, the pro wrestling capital of the world. I got to know Eddie and Chris so well in those days. And we learned so much, competing agaisnt one another. The three of us were very close. Then Chris and I wen tto ECW together and we teamed up, winning those tag titles and bringing the traditional techincial style back to the forefront of America. Months later Eddie came in as well. I was delighted to see him there and we had some great battles, Eddie and I. But Chris didnt seem so happy to see eddie, though he was always cordial to him. Soon, we all got offers from WCW and jumped at the opportunity. We had a great time there too and I was priviledged to be in the ring with these men night in and night out, whether as opponents or partners, they were my brothers. But as Chris got the chance of a lifetime when he was recruited by the horsemen, that left eddie and me to pursue our own interests. eddie did well on his own, and chris seemed content, though he started to act rather cold towards eddie. As the years went by, and eddie achieved success in WCW, us titles, cruiserweight titles and so forth, Chris seemed to suffer from a championship jinx. When the horsemen reformed and I was asked to join, I jumped at the opportunityto join a prestigious group in wrestling, as well as be alongside my friend Chris Benoit. This seemed to break benoit out of his funk, as we won the tag titles. Eddie on the other hand, was battling some personal demons of his own. A terrible car crash that should have ended his life, instead gave him a second chance, a chance at redemption. Eddie tried so hard, he came back far too early and the pain he endured wrestling every night became to much for him once again, and he went back to those old vices for comfort. Then, as we were all tired of putting up with the politics and BS at WCW, we decided to call their bluff and walk. Eddie, Chris, Perry Saturn, and myself, walked together. And when WWE called, we answered the challenge. We came in together, and we wanted to stay togther to make sure the transtion went smoothly. But personal greed got in the way as it often does and it split us apart. Chris did well, but he grew bitter, feeling that his skills were being overshadowed....." Benoit's music intterupts and out he comes "Sorry dean, but you have said quite enough, that's right I was angry, I was the best technical wrestler this company had ever seen, and was I being spotlighted? no. They decided it would be more entertaining to showcase Eddie making a fool out of himself and degrading his heritage, his family, his soul. Yea that got ratings, But Eddie didnt care, he was on top of the world, no matter his friends, he was doing great , who needed friends? But I knew, I knew Eddie too well. I knew he couldn't stay straight. So I bided my time, and sure enough Eddie fell into his personal demons once again. But management didn't care, they turned a blind eye, cuz he was too entertaining. So I had to make the decision for them. That;s right so I went to Dean and Perry and I turned out the tears thats right, I said how worried I was about Eddie's health and that I feared for his life. And those clowns they fell for it. (laughs) So we went to Jim Roo himself and voiced our concerns. So when we got into the hotel that night, I told Eddie, hey let's go to the bar and have a drink? Eddie being the weakling that he is agreed. By morning , Eddie was done. He was nervous, knowing we had Raw that night, but was so out of it that he listenedto me as I told him not to worry Ill protect you from the boss. I went to see Perry and Dean and they had seen Eddie and knew he was in no condition to work that night. I told Eddie to take a shower to wake himself up. Sure enough minutes later Eddie was on the floor, and I went to JR myself and they told him to go home. I had finally done it, got rid of that pest Eddie Guerrero. Sure I wound up in neck surgery and out for a year but Eddie wound up fired. It had all come to plan, except that I never thought he would get clean. Vicne felt bad for him and brought him back to WWE out of pity. But Eddie was so wanting to make up for it, that he was far too easy to control. I was able to keep him out of my hair. I won the royal rumble and jumped to RAW. I was the top story for once, me in the main event. But what does Eddie do? he gets lucky and on a fluke wins the WWE championship. and theer were tributes for Eddie, parades, video packages, fan love. But what about me? I waited 18 years to get the top of the sport, and Eddie Guerreo gets a shot out of sympathy. Poor Eddie he fell off the wagon, but he picked himself up . What a crock of (bleep) But I said no matter, I'm on a different show, he can't bother me anymore. As I am getting ready for the biggest match of my life, who should bother me but Eddie Guerrero. I wanted to beat the hell out of him, but I knew I had to conserve my energy for my title shot, as I now had to beat two men as another spotlight hogger Shawn Michaels had to come in and insert himself where he didn't belong. SO I went out there and guesss what? I won. I was the world heavyweight champion, and just as I was ready to celebrate, again Eddie grabs my spotlight. But I let him live that night, knowing he was on the other show and couldn't bother me anymore. So I sat on RAW and watched Eddie fall off once aagain. He lost his title and his focus, as I was main eventing payperviews. And then at the Rumble, I was ready to win it again, but of course again eddie was in my way again. I try to be nice and help him out, and he repays me by attempting to blindside me. Now I have had enough. Of course again I was denied my spotlight and was eliminated. But now I realized that Eddie had to go. So I stared to call eddie again. we went out, buddied around. I eveen convionced him to go to the clubs again. I knew he would be too weak to resist temptation. So I goaded him, saying that Rey mysterio was stealing his spotlight that he was using him. Eddie tried to stay clean, but he of course is too weak. Finally he snapped and beat the hell out of that midget Rey Rey. I was drafted back here, so I was able to have some fun and taunt him some more. I was done with Eddie, then he had to stick his nose in my business and cost me the title. I woudl have done the same untill Dean, you had to stick your nose into my business as well. SO I had to readjust that nose for you. That's right I admit it, I sabotaged Eddie's career and his life, and it was well worth it. And you know what, I feel like having some more fun (attacks Dean and crossfaces him again, but eddies runs in and chases him off) So that all explains Eddies turn on Rey, as well as why Eddie had some problems. And it elevates both of them to the top. You have a great feud with the sympathetic eddie vs the evil bastard benoit. Hey they did it with Hawk, why not now? We all know wwe has no soul right? Of course you will never see this angle

    What constitutes a great finisher?

Taker still users a flatliner variation (more like hassans) and orlando jordans finisher is a flatliner (also more like hassans), used to be called "Black Ice" when he was ajobber on velocity but lately has no name. Edge of course calls it the downward spiral. and scott steiner was using it as well in his wwe run. Seems to be the "new stunner/diamond cutter" where everyone copies it. at leats orton changed the rko to be different than the cutter or stunner (he basically uses one hand most of the time) Actually a fun fact is that the original Flatliner, back when Kanyon was Mortis, was a samoan drop off the second rope, but change dit to the new move when he became just simply Kanyon. My opinion on finshers is this. Every wrestler who isn't an actual total jobber needs one. and they need to be ones that aren't so commonly used, cuz I hate when one guy uses a move its a match ender, and when other guys do it, it's a transistion move (like the DDT). And they should all have a name (no not all should have overly dumb pun names but n ames nonetheless) and the announcers need to remember the names of said moves (Im looking at you JR). and the best ones are the ones that can be hit quickly, with a good setup to get the crowd pumped (sure an out of nowhere move can be fun, but when they see it coming the crowd can brace for it and thus get morte excited and pop even louder). and there should not be so many matches where guys are kicking out of finishers left and right. I hope that made sense.

    The Old School questions thread

actually Tito Santana did comepete in ECW in 93 after he left WWF. Infact he even won the ECW title (when it was still Eastern Championship Wrestling and an NWA affiliate). so I guess he retired sometime after that.

How do you get the commentaries on the RVD DVD?

Pretty good. A good example of what he used to be before WWE castrated him like the others. However the majority of the IWC thought he was an overrated spotfest guy back then so I have no idea if many will agree with me. as for the commentary, just push your audio button (if on ps2, hit L3-that is push in the left analog stick to hear a click) theres only 2 matches with comm, they are RVD vs Sabu from Hardcore Heaven 96, and RVD vs Balls Mahoney from Anarchy Rulz 1999 (which is an extra on disc 2)

The one & only OVW...errr, Smackdown thread.

I just realzed this Mexicools thing will invariably end with Michelle McCool joining them... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I bet Carlito will tell them that they are not cool at Summerslam or Survivor Series. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think no one is hating on the name because its obvious that they are purposely having a goofy name. They are attempting to get themselves over with self-deprecating humor. However the whole thing seems like a rejected XPW angle or something.

The one & only OVW...errr, Smackdown thread.

anyone else think that the rey win means either he or eddie is going to raw next week? anyways great match, but I'm dying for another. a street fight should have settled this, but of course they can always deliver in the ring,no matter the type of match. Aha I see they stole our lWo reunion idea already, albeit in a weird way. that was the "what the hell?" moment of the year so far IMO.

    ICE CREAM SURVEY

I alos dont eat ice cream often. infact I didnt eat any for like 6 months this past year. I have really cut down on snack foods in order to have a healthier diet and lose weight and it works. (40 plus pounds lighter in 9 months w/o working out lol)

    This Week In Baseball

Was I the only one who didnt want to get Pavano? I knew it was a bad idea to sign another NL pitcher who had one good year. Told you they wouldnt score after that explosion, happens most of the time. just think without that big inning, they might have lost the first three games of this series. Icmon jays beat the os, or well be 6 games back again (as if jays fans care) yea I sad "we'll", you can do that when youre a true diehard fan ok? haters

    Bad Games That You Love

I didn't think Mayem was that bad. I rented it once when it came out for the N64 and I thought it was decent (but nowhere near the thq wcw games). it was the first wrestling game to have backstage areas so I thought that was cool. and the annoucner (mean gene) actually announced the guys coming to the ring and if they were the champ or not. plus they had the ppv password thing (which didnt last long) I never played backstage assault

    First Time You Saw ECW

I had read abotu ecw in pwi in like 95ish, but I didnt see it till I was flipping channels one sat night in April 96 and came across a wrestling show on KTLA (An LA indy channel that also wound up airing wwf shotgun/jakked, wcw worldwidethen also USWA and Music City Wrestling, then later XPW tv) and found out it was ecw, so I was like "cool". I fogrget who was wrestling that night, but I remember the first thing I saw was a manager (I think named "damian kane" or somethin) doing a promo and some sort of beatdown occured. later in the show, Raven had a promo and I was like "hey thats scotty flamingo/johnny polo" I got hooked instantly. for some reason in late june, the show stopped airing on sats, so I thought it was gone (the last show being the one that proceeded hardcore heaven 96(which I taped and still have on tape), so I never found out the results making me made mad. It came back in july on sats and I continued to get into it, especially the raven/sandman feud and the feud between the eliminators and the gangstas (saw the gangstas win the tag title son tv in august and I got so excited, yes I was still quite the mark and popped for the faces) The RAW invasion was so cool in 97 and I so wanted to see barely legal, but I was only like 14 at the time and had no job and had just convinced my dad to order wm 13 the weeks before so there was no chance. I didn't get to see that show till I bought the reissued pioneer vhs version of the show in 01. Infact I never ordered or saw live any of the ecw ppvs. I remember in 97 the show started to air on sunday nights at midnight , I so I would stay up late on a school night no less. By 98 with shotgun on the channel and wcw worldwide and ecw back on sats, they aired back to back to back making the ultimate 3 hour block on sat nights for a wrestling fan like me.

Juventud Guerrera on wwe Tv !!

Well the rock actually made fun of juvi after jericho debuted in wwf in 99, like the week after their first confrontation, rock said somethin like "you were in that other company fighting some jabroni named juventud" or somethin like that. shortly thereafter, juvi started mocking rock and "the juice" gimmick started. (originally juice came from the fact that juvi wore tights that said juvi juice on the back)

WWE cracks down on fan sites

I can see the point of videos and such, but fan photos? arent they the same people who encourage us to take pics at events? and it's nto liek any of these sites are making money off of this. Wrestlecrap be warned! and if someone raided these forums there would be more than wwe people, as most of us use tv shows and music pics and all types of crap on here.

    House shows..

Unsure, the last wwf house show I went to was in 1993 so...... I have been to exaclty 3 wwf/e shows in the past decade, a smackdown in 01 in LA, unforgiven 02 in la, and raw in anaheim in august last year. They were fun, the ppv being the most fun but there is alot of down time and you're never guaranteed long, fun matches with tv tapings at least.

    NBA deal is done

You got it exact right there. People identify with basketball more becuase its a game everyone plays and you dont need a special surface for it. sure you can play roller hockey but its not the same thing. I was just saying how ironic it was that a game that is more boring to watch to me that is, is more popular than a sport I find more fun to watch. But truth be told I'd also rather play a game of b-ball with my friends then a hockey one.

Juventud Guerrera on wwe Tv !!

I guess some newer fans might be confused, but I was assuming most of wwes audience is us diehards who actually do remember WCW. I forgot there's a lot of young kids who never even heard of wcw. But the name Juventud by itself sounds kinda lame considering it changes the meaning of his name. but its no biggee really. I mean they also took away Tajiris first name when he came in and stole Snitskys first name as well recently . Funny how you thought he was related to eddie and chavo, as the three actually used the same stock theme song for a short time in WCW 96 (eddies first wcw theme it was) I'm all for the new lWo, as long as La Parka is involved.
  22. Jericholic82

    NBA deal is done

somehow basketball is more popular than hockey (and even probably baseball but im not sure), even though its the most boring sport not named golf or tennis IMO. sure its fast-paced, but often too fast paced. if it isnt a blowout you shouldnt bother watching till the last 5 mins of the 4th. Hockey is far more nerve wracking, especially when a lot of the games are so close. Maybe too many foreigners in the NHL offput us americans? I dont know. We're a weird bunch here in the USA I guess. that age limit is a dagger to a lot of guys Id suppose. Lebron must be happy he got in 2 years ago.

    This Week In Baseball

wish I could have seen that crazy game. I had just checked this thread and the score was 11-7 at the time. yea its great to comeback but it shouldnt have come to that. well a win is a win I guess. this is the second 13 run inning weve had against tampa this year, surprise it wasn't mentioned on baseball tonight. then again that isnt a big deal, it is tampa after all. watch tommorrow we won't be able to score any runs. damn os won again, if only they went on a losing streak when the yanks were on a win streak. if not in the next few days, we would need to sweep the os series which is obviously hard to do. but if they are 4 or 3 back on monday it could be interesting. however since henn is starting against the mets on sat, who knows.
  24. Jericholic82

Juventud Guerrera on wwe Tv !!

Nice to see WWE thinks we can't tell the difference between Juventud GuerrerA and Eddie GuerrerO. Or maybe its just in case he goes on RAW so JR wont get confused. Move Jericho to SD so he can pick on Juvi and call him Quasijuice Sklelera again and wear his mask around his neck.

    The Old School questions thread

    1. Never an official blowoff, after wm 5 they had several matches. then he brung in zeus and ha d atag feud against hogan and beefcake. Hogan did face svage on a SNME in Feb 90 that was supposed to feature Mike Tyson as special ref, but he went and got kod by Buster Doulglas and Douglas took his place as ref. Hogan beat savage then Douglas knocked out savage. I guess that's as close to a blowoff as they ever gave 2. no clue? 3.Valentine I belive turned face shortly before wm 7 in 91 at an msg show, not sure of exact details. 4. Unsure, But if tradition was to be held, youd think Bret would have won, but Yoko had been built up as the new top monster heel so who knows 5.I'm sure they did. Perfect was on Rudes survivor series team in 1989 and actually was the sole survivor for the team. 6.Tito became el matador in the summer of 91 thats when the skits aired. His ppv appearance in the gimmick was survivor series 91 where he was part of duggans winning team with slaughter and kerry von erich.. He stuck around till at least mid 93, losing in the dark match at wm 9 to Papa Shango being his last major event in the WWF. Not sure when he actually retired but I assume late 93 or early 94.
