  1. That probably helped to bring in new fans as well. Yea the coverage was crazy. at wm 11 there was tons of photgraphers at ringside, not as much at wm 14. but both did huge publicity for wwe. but only tyson seemed to help the buyrate.

    Why all the Orton hate?

I dont hate orton. He didnt make a good face, but yet I tried to just accept it an dmove on cuz complaining all the time gets us nowhere so you might as well just accept it and find something else to enjoy in wwe. His push did come too soon. and so did his turn. Maybe if he had stayed with evo after summerslam, with Trips turning on him months later or the opposite, Orton turning on Trips and taking over evo would have worked much better. They took any credibility Orton had and flushed it away by having him immediately lost the title. Perhaps they should have had Benoit retain at summerslam, but by only the closetst of margins. That could sew the seeds of dissention in evo cuz Trips would see orton as a possible threat. Trips wins the title from Benoit at perhaps unforgiven, maybe survivor series to make it better. continue a teased rift in evo, then have randy do the batista thing in jan and win the rumble, but decide to face Trips instead. That might have worked, but Batista probably did a better job in hindsight.

    Create the Worst. Videogame. E-EHH-EHHHVAR!!

Ok heres a bad (or is it GOOD?) idea. You play as President GW Bush , on a mission to stop terrror and fight evil. Your only weapons are a bible, a leather strap, and you can ride a horse. A special move can be that you strap a foe in a electric chair and hit the juice. or everyones favorite "convert the heathens" You have a power meter, and as it goes down GW gets more and more confused. and at any moment you might have to break into a press conference, in which time the game changes to a pattern style button masher like a Pa Rappa game. If you keep in line, his speech is coherent, if you mess up, his lines become more disjointed and stupid sounding. Major level bosses can include saddam hussein , osama bin laden, al gore, john kerry, and obviosuly michael moore. Your allies include daddy, ashcroft, cheney, rice, and powell Voices can be done by will ferriel for GW and Dana Carvey for Bush sr In effect it might mirror the "Billy Grahams Bible Blaster" seen on the simpsons DAMN NOW I THINK I HAVE MADE A GAME THAT PEOPLE WOULD WANT TO PLAY OH CRAP

    American Idol Season 4

Ok Maybe I shouldnt have said jess was a "frontrunner" but what I meant was she and carrie did seem to be the best of the night (well at least according to simon) as a whole everyone was better this week.
  5. well at the post wm 14 press conference Austin said that he and Tyson had been in it together from the beginning. You can see this interview on the wwf hv version of wm 14 (its even on the legacy box set version) as for the non match with austin vs Kane. Kane came to the ring, but attacked a fan, before the underatker appeared at the top of the tage after a lightining strike on a casket. I gues austin came out after? I dont knwo I have never seen this, I fell asleep while watching that Raw (and was might angry cuz of it)

    Hulk Hogan

Benoit is a former WCW champ. The two WWF reigns I was refering to were when he beat the Rock by DQ (the stip was that the belt could change ona DQ) and Foley continued the match and they did a similar thing during a 4 way at a later PPV. The names of both shows escape me right now. Fully Loaded 2000 was the first show. Dunno about the second. Unforgiven 2000, which was just two months after Fully Loaded. I remember marking out when I thought Benoit won the title in july and sept. Man was I angry (though winning the title by dq as it would have been in July wouldhave been lame)

    WWE Wrestlemania 21

Yo Mike. Yup, the books have been with every issue almost from the start. We're always toying with covermounts – the DVD came in two months ago (and actually is becoming almost standard on all of our console mags), as did the Live magazine as a separate mini-mag instead of a pullout. The WWE issue also came with a lovely poster of John Cena, which has been plastered all over the office and drawn ridicule from all the other mags. I've been doing some work for the GameCube mag (Cube) as well, and they used to come with Action Replay discs (as their DVDs are pressed by Datel), but I don't think that's the case any more. And yeah, a lot of things looked weird on that build of the game – hair is one of them, Kane's towel another. I think that was the build with something like 380 A-line bugs, so obviosuly there was a lot to work out. Kanes towel? he hasnt used that since like last april. thq needs to keep a little more current

    American Idol Season 4

Not a front runner in my book, but if she wants to run around... I ain't gonna complain... It had nothing to do with what she looked like, I thought that the song sounded good and was better than her last few weeks. I thought it wa sthe best she has sounded. but hey we all have our own thoughts

    American Idol Season 4

I was hoping that Simon might make a quip about Paulas hit and run possible conviction. Maybe thats why she kept kissing Simon? lol Anyhow anyone else think Fox made that mistake as a ploy to have idol on three nights this week? As for Nikko this week, he was better but he still isnt anything special IMO remember i said it, its my opinion, its fine if you dont think so ok Carrie and jessica may be the frontrunners after last night. Constantine has to go though (UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)

    Fact or a myth?

Yes, it's nuts, but there you go. The Luger match went just under 15 minutes, and was originally given 24 minutes, which meant the match was set for about 20 minutes, so we 'lost' about five minutes of classic action. The Bret match went about 10 minutes, which meant it was probably cut short by around 4-5 minutes. YIKES But if you have seen the Yoko-Luger summerslam 93 match it went about 18 mins and it wasnt that bad. I might have given it **, if It had a clean finish I may have gone closer to *** However their wm x match was absolute crap, save for when Luger slipped on the outside of the ring sliding into the guard rail and Vince trying to cover it up by saying something about Fuji

Worst wrestling related conversationd you've heard

well as one of the few people who bought a ticket to the wwa revolution ppv in las vegas (everyone save for maybe a few hundred was comped) i can tell you that they actually handed out signs prior to the show (in case you saw the ppv and were wondering why you saw lame signs like Bret Hart: All heart , theres your answer) They actually gave me a sign and I was indginant (especially considering it was a disco inferno sign? wtf?)

When did you start to hate Hogan?

well I got into wrestling in 1990, near the end of his wwf run. He wasnt my fav but I liked him enough. I didnt like what he did to sid at the rumble but changed my mind when sid turned heel on him ( i was a mark after all) though I thought it was hogans fault it happened. I liked him even after he won at wm 9 . I didnt start hating him untill he formed the nWo (once again I was still markish at this point, well trying to hold on to my markdom at least) Politics aside, he is clearly the most recognizable wrestler of the past 20 years and is truly the babe ruth of the wwe. As long as he stays away from the ring, hell be ok with special appearances here and there,

So, I want to buy a Big Gold replica

Exactly my thoughts. I mean I am a huge wrestling fan but I would never spend 300 hundred on a fake ttitle belt. Id rather get one of those plastic or foam ones thank you very much lol

    Fact or a myth?

well having yoko win the first title match at mania 10 made little sense, as he was a huge guy and having to work two 10 plus minute matches would seem like a stretch for him(and in the 2nd match you could see that he was out of energy, it made more sense for Luger to win the title, then lose it to breteven though lex was a roided up guy who probably would also blow up quickly) BUT...having Bret beat Yoko makes a lot of sense as it gives the underdog face a big win agaisnt the mosnter heel at mania which seems right. and it blew off the year old issue of Bret vs Yoko from mania 9 where bret was cheated out of his title, so a year later he got his revenge.

Worst wrestling related conversationd you've heard

The reason they think Rock was coming out, was a slip rock made during the interview on ellen. They showed this on best week ever on vh1. Rock was going through the same spiel that he has on every showing hyping the movie, talking about being fearless in taking challengeing acting roles. then he said something about playing gay and accidentily slipped and said something (damn i cant remember now) wrong while saying it, implying that he was gay. what is up with all these people thinking there were different takers and warriors?

How is this stupid at all. Jericho's championship reign sucked. well I meant that I thought it was stupid that these guys were still discussing that, and the fact that the conversation was coming across as markish (in that he was saying it cuz he thought the reign was bad, but because he was mad his favs didnt get the title)

    Best company debuts

Goldberg's first feud was with Mongo as a heel (first he hung out with him a then turned on him, I think) but his first match he Jackhammered Bill DeMott and looked at the camera and said "That's one!" I don't know if it was Goldberg doing it on his own or hif they actually planned the winning streak from the beginning but given the way it played out and Goldberg saying that after his first win, I'd say that the day he debuted the streak started and was even acknowledged by Bill. He didnt hang with Steve, )they only started feuding cuz of Debra, who paid of Goldberg by giving him Steves superbowl ring. They didn't mention much of his streak untill the new year, but it was obvious that he was something special from the beginning, as he was destorying bigger guys like morrus and Barbarian in addition to jobbers. Did he say that one? in hindsight what a brilliant move! However I do know that after the match mean gene tried to interview him and he just stared and walked away. I have the match on tape from the best of nitro special that aired in December 1999. Tenay made a big deal out of not knowing anything about bill except that he played football.

Markish impressions you had as a youth

Heh, when I first started watching, me and my friends thought the were "guys from the crowd." They were usually flabby and untanned and just looked like regular guys. That theory was shattered when I noticed the same guys showing up every week. As for markishness... I never thought it was real, and my parents' friends would always ask them "You've told him it's not real, right?" But at the same time, I thought that sometimes guys really get mad and try to hurt each other (Jake and Rude, for example.) That isn't too far from the truth. My smartness first came in a small dose in 1987 from a little book called Wrestling Superstars II, which I believe was mentioned a few months ago. I got it from one of those little book sheets they handed out in elementary school. It's pretty much kayfabe with some shoot facts mixed in. However, the chapter on Vince McMahon, Jr. is like a straight shoot. It talks about how he pissed of traditionalists and ran off guys like Windham and Rotundo. My second dose came in...1990, I believe. It was at Youth Group winter retreat. The preacher guy in charge made the name of the retreat "Slamming Your Giants." Of course, the "Giants" were analogs for your temptations. In his first sermon, he talked about getting on a plane full of WWF guys and meeting them. He told us how Ultimate Warrior trained to be a chiropractor. He told us their shoot names. The next day, they broke the whole camp into groups and we had to plan our own skits about slamming "Giants." Some dork in our group was a Pat Riley fan and slicked his hair back and stuff...he wanted our skit to be about slamming like in basketball. Everyone agreed with him. Everyone but me. I was unhappy. Later on, I was talking to some older kid about wrestling and he told me about blading and stuff. Pretty cool. ah wrestling superstars II gets another mention lol If I had read it back in when I was a mark, it may have surprised me. And how were you supposed to know vince was the owner? I basically found that out when he made appaearnces on tv during the steroid scandal and his federal trial. Hey I thought Yoko was from Japan, even though if you really looked at him you can tell hes not. Ah to be a mark again. and I really feel bad for you guys who didnt get into wrestling until the late 90s, I mean sure you picked a goo dtime to join in, but you missed a lot of old school stuff. I mean Im still mad I didnt get into wrestling until 1990. My dad got me into it he would go to his friends house to watch mania every year and he woudl want to take me and I was all like no, being I was about 3-6 during these years so all I cared about was cartoons and toys. (well techincally the ninja turtles was m y obssession before wrestling )

    Hulk Hogan

Well IMO Benoit is a former WCW champ. They stripped him of the title on Nitro the night after souled out 2000, with Arn Anderson giving the explanation that he saw the replay and saw sids foot under the ropes. They never went out of the way to say Benoit wasnt a former champ did they? As for Jericho and HHH, Trips stated that night that the change be erased from history as it never happened. And what about Flair? He won the wcw title for the last time against JJ on Nitro in may/june 00. But he had a worked inniry (or was it another fake heart attack?) and was stripped by russo the next week, leading to nash facing jjj for the vacant tile and winning it. On nitro, Nash gave the title back to flair and he promptly lost it to Jarrett again. Now does that count as two flair regins there? and does Nash get credit for his short title win? damn wcw was convoluted with Russo booking

    Ages of wrestlers

Cool topic, Thanks for the info guys. I wasnt sure if Trsih was 29, cuz I have an old WOW mag that listed her date of birth as 12-16-76(which would be exactly 6 years and one day before me), I guess they were off by a year. Any wrestlers born on 12-17?

Why is Ric Flair kissing HHH's ass?

jester should bring out Mr. Slave-uh, too. "Children-uh, I'd like to introduce Mr. Slave-uh." "Jesuth Christh. WOOOOO!" That image has me ROTFL
