Shawn told a story on confidential about how the rockers first came into the wwf and got fired after liek one show. They went to a bar and got in a fight or somethin with soem other wrestlers, who stooged on them to vince and made up some bs story. Vince called Shawn and Marty for a meeting, and told them "See these boots? theyre made for walking" and vince promplty fired them on the spot. They were rehired months later. now thats funny

I heard that was a planned rib on Warrior. In WCW when he would "appear" from a cloud of smoke, he was just coming out from under the ring where he would be hiding. The story was that Hennig shit in a bucket and put it under the ring before the show so Warrior would have to stay under the ring until his cue with a lovely smell to keep him company. The bucket was supposed to be under the ring, cuz warrior would have to hide under there for a long time, in case he had to pee they had a bucket. I heard that hennig was hiding under the ring in order to do a run in, and pooped in the pee bucket. then warrior was under there and saw it Im probably wrong though, but at least we know why theyre was a bucket under the ring (probably the same thing for sting when he had to wait in the rafters sometimes close to 4 hours.

Instead of dropping the WWF Title to Sid at the Thursday Raw special before the Feb 1997 IYH, Shawn vacted the belt instead, claimg to have 'lost his smile', and wanting to take a break from wrestling to recharge. It was just his way of avoiding another job. The kayfabe reason besides the smile thing was that Shawn had a knee injury, when he came out to vacate his title he brought up the smile thing. so it was very confusing for marks worldwide (and I was one of them) considering that 3 months later he wa sback tagging with austin and flying around the ring.

Dont know for sure but prior to ss97 they were at least cordial with each other (watch the beyond the mat directors cut for the bonus footage of dude loves first wwf apperance, as HBK talks to Mick, you can see austin and owen talking by the curtains-dont think this means theyw ere buddies but they probably respected each other. It's hard to blame steve for being upset, as he was in the middle of a monster push and was more over than he had been in his enitre career. It could have stopped the austin era of wwf in its tracks (and in fact it did lead to austins carreer being cut short a bit) I am sure that Steve was not happy that Owen died. and when he did his salute, you could see the tears about welling up in his eyes as he tried to keep his composure. Jeff Jarett was really upset. You could tell he really liked Owen (they had been tagging for months so they probably had got very close) I met Jeff once and he was talking about Owen and I could tell from his voice that he really missed owen.

Yeah, I'm sure you'd kick Steph right out of bed. Not up to your standards! No no. well considering she has been with hhh, who was with chyna who knows what sort of gorilla stds she might carry lol yea Id kick her out and yell "learn how to write better storylines you dumbass" and then id call her the names jericho used to call her and tell her to get her buttchin fixed . My luck, she would start screeching in her annoying voice and would go deaf. I like Trish alot due to her cool personality and she seems like she is "one of the guys" you could hang out with and have fun, go to sports , play videogames with etc in addtion to everything else.

yea great stuff. btw was that really angels stadium? it looked more like dodger stadium to me. anyhow I also liked how everyone started fighting and then stopped and huged, then camera cuts to a shot of a dog licking a mailman (totally out of left field moment that had me in stiches) But better yet, the entire "bloopers" video showed before the game (tiger attacks fielder, car runs over a player, players makes diving catch over family picknicking on the field, and the best yet, guys climbs cf wall to make catch and head falls off-Mel allen-"how about that" while the other announcers face turns white as a ghost)

cool, I mentioned earlier on this thread how I saw him in Las Vegas at the opening of the ESPN Zone. He seemd like a cool guy, signed autographs (i ddndt get one cuz I had nothing for him to sign and waved and smiled. He looked older so it was weird to me. I still have the video of that (i had my camcorder with me at the time in case any cleberities came out of the party and wouldnt you know it mr freakin belding walks out and I almosty totally marked out right there) -
This was a weird show, but besides that I loved it. It to me went back to the SP of old, where they were out to insult every person on earth (tonight we had, garrison talking about abortions and sucking babies out, the basketball coach saying jews cant play basketball, etc) "Come back you didnt pay the 2 dollar entrance fee" That was funny to me, cuz back in high school, they made you pay to get into the football games, even if you came in the 4th quarter When Gerald became a dolphin, I knew this show was going to be a classic Cant wait until next week

I think you mean on Raw it was Stacy. I think I ended up locking my Divas in a closet or something, cuz I never used them after I'd won them. Because them screwing up the season mode isn't as important as them somewhat fixing the ultra-shitty play balance of HCTP. no, every time I got that stoyline on raw, it was with Torrie(in my current season as Batista I won her and can use her as a manager). on sd it was with sable

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

ah the classic song. Reminds me of a funny story. I vactioned in Las Vegas in July 1999, and stayed at The Excalibur, which just so happened to then house the WCW Nitro Grill (WCW theme restaurant that beat out WWFNY by nearlly a year). The sunday I was there Bash At The Beach 99 was happening and they were showing it at the grill. They only charged like 5 bucks to get in, plus dinner. The place was pretty col and they had cool stuff hanging up, like one of flairs robes in a frame plus goldbergs tights (ewww) ravens shorts (double ewwww) duggans two by four plus his tights (triple ewwww) one of glaciers outfits, plsu much more. anyhow me and my dad watched the ppv there. It was fun they had big screens and even had a smoke machine in there and did a light show, plus they had "nitro girlls" (dont think they were real ones, but I could be wrong cuz they were signing autographs later) to the story though, when the Rednecks vs mysterio/konnan no limit soldiers team match came on, they played the song....and the whole audience in the grill sang along in unison.. pretty crazy stuff , unless you consider that wcws main audience at the time was older white people and kids whose parents wouldnt let them watch WWF. Actually I went in to the grill the first day wearing a dx shirt, and at the ppv I wore a red and black nwo shirt plus my WWF attitude cap. -
I always assumed that Steve Lombardi (Brooklyn Brawler) played doink at wm x7 but I might be wrong. Dinsmore played Doink at Vengeance 03 in the APA Barrom Invitaional Brawl and the sd right after when Rhyno sent him to face Benoit

Honsetly, Steph is not hot. To me she looks too much like Vince to not be creepy. Hunter likes them manly women dont he? Funny story about trish, last night on my local Fox news (LA) they had a story on her, talked to her about here training regimen, past history as a model and her transition to wrestling as well as her worst injury (which she says was the ankle injury of 01) The piece only lasted about 2 mins, but I got it on tape. too bad I dont have a video connector to post it online.

The ambulance/injurt thing happened on heat. Remember the austin/taker title match that night was to have Vince and shane as special refs (during the false vince face turn leading to the higher power reveal two weeks later) on heat, shane goaded vince into facing Mideon. During that match, vince was attcked by the ministry and injured his leg/ankle. SO they had an ambulance take him to "the hospital" during the main event, vince was to arrive back at the arena in the ambulance and limp to the ring, which he did and "accidentily" hit austin to give taker the win. I only know all this, cuz I turned on heat (im on the west coast so it was tape delayed at 7 pm pst) after reading of owens death online to see if they would cut into heat to give deatils or somethin. as for the thumbs up, didnt Mick Foley mention something about that in his books? let me check.....oh wait he didnt, he said that he was told by JR and King that owen tried to sit up, then went limp, never to move again. still tragic, but guys dont get soo testy with each other. It seems as if after he died, every single fan became obssesed with protecting owen, as if he was all of theirs favorite wrestler, when I know he couldnt possibly be. Nobody cares untill you die it would seem. Still that was IMO the most senseless death in wrestling history. (Interesting cuz I always wondered how Sting was able to descend to the ring without falling off, I guess WCW employed better stunt people) Stupid Russo and Mcmahons

An all too real fear that I have had since the match was announced (but hey waiting a year to get his job back must be a new record for trips) But besides, it's not like Trips has not beaten Chris before (at least twice on TV/PPV- that being SD Benoits first WWF match and of course No Mercy 2000-which apparantly no longer exists) as for dvds, hey at least we got some stuff to look forward to. and for the Bret one, you all might be on the wrong track here, just cuz its called Screwed doesnt mean it will be all about montreal, It may just be a main feature on Brets career plus dvd extra matches (like hogans, benoits, eddies dvd) Maybe Bret and Vince will come to a deal where he will be involved with the project somehow and get to tell the story of his life (doubt it somehow)

lol Yea PrimeTime was the best show back in the day (how could you go wrong with Gorilla and Bobby? plus tons of cool matches not shown on the syndicated shows)

The funny part of the nWo split was that now the announcers seems to like the wolfpac (cuz they were faces I guess) and why Sting and Luger would join any part of the group made absolutely no sense (as did Giant rejoining Hogan ) BTW the Ginat rejoined Hogan on a nitro where Nah confronted Hogan in a midring promo , Hogan said "When you come to a fight, you have to bring a big gun" and out walked Giant with an nWo classic shirt. I have that segment taped so thats why I remember all the details. I guess Giant joined cuz he hated Nash for messing up his neck with the botched powerbomb at souled out 98 and kudos to those who tried to explain the long and nonsensical nwo storylines. the split basically ended with the fingerpoke of doom leading to that, Hall returned to wcw in late summer (he was seen off anf on before that) with a new gimmick, in that he drank on his way to the ring and/or always acted drunk while wrestling (he even puked on bischoff once). Later on he basically tried to suck up to Nash as the black and white basically disowned him. He fought nash at havoc and world war 3 and pretended to make nice with nash, but attacked him. at starrcade 98, Hall (who was supposed to face Bam Bam Bigelow but didnt) interfered in the Nash-Goldberg match by using a tazer gun on berg while "nash wasnt looking" Nash won , but seemed upset when he found out that Hall had helped him. m,eanwhile, scott steiner was actively trying to recruit luger and other wolfpacers to join the black and white (steiner was appointed the new leader of the faction when Hogan "retired" and "ran for president" after havoc 98) Nash demanded that Goldberg get a rematch and the match was set for the Jan 4 , 1999 Nitro (which of course ran against the Taped Raw where Mankind beat the Rock for the world title, which more people saw cuz of Schiavone announcing that Foley was going to win) On the nitro Hogan returned and gave an interview, however Goldberg was arrested for stalking and harrasing Ms Elizabeth , so he couldnt wrestle, therefore Nash challanged hogan. Main event time, Nash comes out....with Hall? the announcers are like how nice they made up. The fingerpoke happens (which has been drastically overrexagerrated as the death of wcw, when they were at least 5o other bigger things that caused it) and its revelaed that Nash and Hogan and Hall have rejoined, Luger comes out and turns on berg , Hogan annonces the new wolfpac, the elite nWo. also feat. Steiner and Bagwell. The black and white basically stays on as lackeys that Hogan doesnt care for. This elite angle was promptly dropped when Hogan was turned face and so was Nash. The nWo laid dormat until Bret Hart reformed it with hall and nash and jarrett and steiner at the end of the year. Bret had to stop wrestling in jan 2000 and the nwo was bascially dropped, but Jarrett continued to have the harris bros as his lackeys and still used the nWo name. this ended when russo returned with bischoff, and the nWo was not to be seen again until Feb of 2002 when Hogan, Hall, and Nash returned to the WWF. Hogan left at wm x-8, Xpac rejoined that week on SD. Booker T was added by Flair and HBK joined. Ended when Nash tore his quad and Vince came out the next week to announce the news that GMS would take over the shows (after he beat flair with help from Brock to reclaim ownership 100%) and tha the nWo was dead. and so it is finally dead............hopefully. -
Things in wrestling that were never explained
Jericholic82 replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Oh and early 95 wwf mag ran a picture of Jack Tunney accepting something (aparatly a check) from Ted. They asked the question if Ted had bought the WWF president off. They ran a follow up story in which Tunney said that he was paying a fine to him and why he dressed so shady like (big goat dark glasses, he claimed he was sick with a bad cold and pink eye) plus they revealed that Ted had paid the cameraman to take the pictures. ah gotta love WWF Magazine running its own storylines. -

I remember that!!! It was implied that he might join the Corp. WWF Magazine had an article about this around that time, asking if Duke might sell out. -
The funy thing abotu Duggan was that he arrested along with The iron Shiek, that had to be a schock if some young marks heard that (and unheard of in the 80s when kayfabe still existed). The man who destroyed the MCdonalds was Ken Patera (he threw a big boulder through the window I believe after they refused to serve him food cuz they were closing) He actually went to jail for an extended time for resisting arrest and fighting with the police as well as destruction of property/vandalism (his jail time somehow served as a face turn when came back to the wwf and heenan his old manager disowned him)

Yea its almost like accessing a dvd menu. I recently got OD here and ordered a few movies so far, you get to watch them over and over for 24 hours. Plus they have tons of free extras and programs you can play (including a section for music videos)

I just got the game last night and after playing three games, I agree with you. The pitching seemed difficult and weird at first but now I am getting the handle of it. Hitting is a bit diifcult, even on the easy level. Timing seems to be really hard. "Slam zone" is a novel idea but can get annoying, especially when youre the one pitching. fielding is tough to master as sometimes my fielders run in the wrong directions, but once you pick up the ball the throwing controls are simple and easy enough. I'm having a tough time with baserunning. But I guess I'll get used to all of this. I only played three games, first games Me Yanks vs Red Sox, I lost 4-3 (schilling murdered my hittters, and RJ was ok, but had a few bad innings and gave up 3 runs in 7 inn) I didnt get on the board untill two out in the 9th when Gary sheffield came up to bat and crushed a three run bomb. (It would have been a grand slam, but my problems with baserunning led me to overunning a base and getting thrown out on the previos play) matsui followed with a fly out and I barely lost. good game. second game Me Yanks Vs Orioles (who I have noticed dont have sosa so I had to adjust the rosters later) I won 3-1 (homers by Arod and Giambi served as my only scoring despite getting 11 hits) RJ pitched again and gave up no runs through 7 inn. Mo got the save. Next I played as Team USA vs Dom. Republic and won 18-8 (ok so in this game I did better at hitting and crushed six homers, including 2 by Todd Helton) One question, I tried to find Ramiro Mendoza but it says he is in free agents, but I cant locate him (wanted to put him on the yanks minor league as he is in real life right now) any help? and someone with the info needs to post all the recent big trades and signings that didnt make it in the game (well if you can
