Roger Clemens Files For Free Agency On Last Day
Jericholic82 replied to franchise632's topic in Sports
I see your point anglesault. It does suck that Roger lied to us But personally I was more mad at Andy Pettite. although in retrospect it seems that george simply didnt want him. but the yanks offered way more money and better chances. He could have become the all time leader in wins for the team. I personally wanted to tell his wife and all the other texas people to shut up hes a yankee dammit. wtf is up with players accepting deals to be close to home. just move to ny (well actually pettite did have a home in ny in White Plains i believe which is close to my hometown of Yonkers and the city where my dad was born) sheesh who the f*** wants to live in freakin texas anyway? oh crap I just probably incited a war oh well Take it from here angle -

damn the hummer driver angle that would just not die it first apeared during the nash-savage feud leading to their world title match at GAB 99 . someone in a hummer ran over nash on behalf of savage. I think the original plan was rumored to be eric bischoff driving, but he got fired soon after. this angle would be brought up several times more, Savage hinted that the driver would be at road wild 99 to help him against dennis rodman but that didnt happen. later on in the year lex luger showed sting a picture of hogan in front of a hummer trying to convince sting that hogan was bad. it must have worked since Sting turned heel at Fall Brawl 99 (well turned heel in theory as the crowd just cheered him more) "Whered you get that picture luger?" lol finally we got closure. on the april 10th nitro bischoff ran over hogan with the hummer and I guess we were supposed to infer that it was indeed bischoof who was the driver all along/ -

Man, I wish you hadn't brought that up. They showed that shit every week for like two months, they were so fucking desperate to keep Konnan over. Didn't it have a remix? Anything music related in WCW, apart from entrance themes, was a horrible disaster. Music videos, KISS, Master P, whoever the fucking country & western dudes they brought in were, THAT FUCKING DJ, it all sucked. Re: Apocalypse, I've never liked that name first of all and I think it's just something the net cooked up because they needed something to call them. The angle definitely would have got over with the WCW crowd, probably get them pushed into a feud with the nWo if people aren't interfering with the booking, but I always wondered who the 4th Horseman was going to be. AA was already out or on the way out of active duty. Jarrett wasn't over at that point (the dicking around with the Horsemen with no payoff would have been rectified though, maybe he would have picked up heat from that), Mongo was still green, they would have needed a strong 4th man. I can't think of anyone at that time who would have fit the Horsemen other than Luger, but I wonder who WCW had in mind. konnan had 2 music videos. the first debuted at halloween havoc 98 (when konann was still a wolfpac member) and that song eventually became the theme for the filthy animals (and rey too used it till the end of wcw) in early 99 kdog debuted the second video which was the aforementioned one where disco made a pardoy of it with shots of him inserted (now that was funny) this led to a konnan-disco match at Slamboree 99 I think (or it might have been spring stampede actually) konnan won -

2. Torborg wasnt originally the demon torborg was doing his mvp gimmick on thunder and sat night mostly. Bryan Adams(Crush) was the first guy to play the demon (original choice) he made an appearance during a live kiss performance on nitro but was never seen again. awhile later torborg started wrestling as demon with no mention by announcers of another guy in the role even though you could tell he wasnt the original guy. demon went on to form a weird team with norman smiley after norman stole his gear and wore it to the ring. had that special main event match a caged heat (wcw version of HIAC) match to the wall which he lost pretty quickly later in summer he did a feud with vampiro over his girlfriend Asya (yes that asya) vamp broke character and called demon dale and they showed him without makeup on nitro. this led to a graveyard match (held in an actual graveyard in the night) at BATB 2000 which demon lost and then he turned heel and joined vampiro of course none of this compares to the supposed planned wcw/kissnew years eve ppv in which demon was going to douse vampiro with holy water and turn him face (the angle was going to be that vamp was aligned with the devil and demon fought against evil or somethin-great bischoff ideas) 3.They dropped the angle. sting was originally going to turn over the presidency to the newly face eric bischoff but eric got canned and so did the angle 6. cuz at first he started wrestling under his real name of terry bolea and wearing all black, eventually he went back to hollywood to "get his edge back" 9. sasso also helped piper beat bret for the us title. after wilson turned on him the next ep of madtv (which i saw in syndication on com central a while back) piper came on and had the two make up 12. who cares he sucked.... this was after wcw hired rikki ractman of MTV Headbangers Ball fame as an interviewer/guy to pump up crowd -

Kanyon started attacking Raven in the April / May months as a "random fan". Revealed himself to everyone at Slamboree. He feuded with Saturn and Raven from June til about September when all of a sudden Kanyon and Raven were best buddies (WTF? What happened there?) Initially, Kanyon was just taking Saturn's place in the Flock before they disbanded due to the Fall Brawl match stipulations. Saturn started showing rebellion against Raven at Slamboree when he chose to face to Goldberg by himself again to prove his loss to Goldberg at Stampede the previous month wasn't a fluke rather than have Goldberg face all the Flock members in a "Gauntlet" - like match. Saturn then feuded with Raven in June and then had the blow-off at Fall Brawl. the precursor to this was raven asking mortis to join the flock then turning on him and giving him a beating with the rest of the flock. then several times raven was ttacked by some starnge guy (mortis without a mask) raven got JJ dillon to provide security for him prior to his bowery match against ddp at slamboree. during the match the guards (who were in riot gear) attacked ddp except for one guard who attacked raven took off his helmetto reveal mortis, who unmasked to show he was the fan who had been attacking raven. on nitro kanyon did a backstage interview in which he explained his hatred for raven and that he wanted to be called Kanyon now. this was pretty over with the crowd , but they had kanyon join up with raven later on for whatever reason without the two having so much as a televised one on one match (kanyon fought saturn at gab 98) of course kanyon later went on to form the jersey triad with DDP and BBB and sharing the tag belts (Triad vs Benoit/Saturn at bash ta the beach 99 is largely forgoten but an awesome match) -
At The end of Hogan's Promo, a fan rushes the ring and starts coming toward Nash. Nash drills the guy with a punch and he instantly goes down. Hall then kicks the guy In the head so hard It looked like he wrapped his foot around his face. My friends and I rewound that part several times that night. Each time It got a bigger laugh than before. Classic Stuff! man i havent seen that I have that bash vhs but it edits that out damn

my high school had an old book called wrestling superstars II and it was form the mid 80s with bios on pretty much every main star at the time, and it was half-kayfabe half-shoot form (it actually acknowledged mcmahon on the head of the wwf) I checked it out once after finding it (damn should have stole it at the end of my senior year lol jk -
When the heck was THAT? It was on a Nitro (I want to say during Nash's run as commissioner in 2000). The Oz comment a few posts up reminded me of it. Wish I could remember what date it was and who he said it to. a little off topic, but do you remember during nashs run as commisoner he "went crazy" and thought he was batman or something?

If memory serves (isn't it sad how little sense WCW angles made?) he was trying to explain how Konnan beat him for the TV Title and how he'd correct it and win the rematch at Starrcade. -=Mike yea he was telling how konnan cheated numerous ways to beat him it was pretty funny indeed. -

I thought I remembered reading that one of the major deciding factors was that Kulas on the tape was clearly shown puffing his cheeks to make himself bleed the way he did.I've seen the clip and even when it's pouring out like a fountain he is in fact still puffing his cheeks like they claimed. Not defending Jack because he makes Bob Holly look like an angel in comparison by how rough he went on the kid. That should be a dream match for the fans of stiff wrestling,Holly Vs. Jack yea cuz on the benoit dvd main feature he said that heyman came up with the crippler name after that match as benoit kept asking how sabu was and all heyman could do was tell him that he would call him the crippler and junk of course styles did the commentary after the match, its not like ecw had live tv shows. I guess he made a mistake, and no one noticed -
Strangest Kayfabe reasons for a heel turn
Jericholic82 replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in General Wrestling
He didnt really turn face per say. He lost the wwe title to rock at vengeance in the triple threat also with angle. the next night on raw he stuck up for the usa against the unamericans i think. I guess he turned because the fans still cheered him anyways -
Isn't that the truth, though? -=Mike actually he said DOG POOP so......

that screening story reminded me of somethin. in my college journalism class, my teach had us watch an episode of Buffy (the one with the little kids end up dead and the town goes on a witch hunt) and then write a news report on the finding of the dead kids. I have to go and find my report and post it here (this was like in 01 before I became a fullfledged fan of the show) and I too saw the advil commercial (i almost yelled out "oh no its the first come to kill us all") -
