Edge: You know what, in wrestling circles that's called a run-in, derived from the fact that as it looks like Road Dogg's about to win the match, we're gonna cause him to lose. King: A run-in? Edge: Yeah. King: Hey JR, they're going to do a run-in! JR: That's what I've heard, I'm somewhat shocked at their bluntness. King: Sometimes JR can be sorta markish. oh man I just found another one on the Benoit dvd during the hart/benoit Owen Tribut match Brain: You know I've been to their home and their whole house is a dungeon Brain: What Benoit should do right now is extend his hand to Bret Hart, his hand of friendship, and then reach into his trunks and pull out something that weighs about 45 pounds and tape it to his fist and hit him right between the running lights and knock him cold. I have lots of good quotes I worte down for I guess situations like this heres a slection of them The Rock before the rumble match at Royal Rumble 2001 "The Rock is sick and tired of asking that question, answering that question: Is Kane together with the Undertaker?, is The Undertaker together with Kane? Kane wants to buy the Undertaker a box of chocolates, The Undertaker wants to tickle Kane's big red nipple. wm 4 during heenan/islanders vs bulldogs/koko Jess: Well it's obvious Heenan's saving himself, don't you think Gorilla? Gorilla: Yea for the Senior Prom maybe. Apparently it's 'Remember the Alamo' Remember the Alamo, but forget some other things: like showering, holding down a job, literacy, and obviously mastering the concept of using a toothbrush" Christian to Angle about HHH-Raw 10/30/00 "Yea he's 'The Game' alright,if the game is 'pin the tail on the two-faced reekazoid." of course the best one I can find "Edge: If we beat the Dudleys, we will so be in the good graces of the faction Christian: I thought they were called the regime? Edge: No, The Faction Christian: Regime Edge: Faction Christian: Regime Edge: Lets just compromise and call them the 'Fac-gime' Christian: Yea we are so working for the Fac-Gime tonight" Smackdown 6/15/00 "The Knicks are going down!!!!- In the NBA Finals after beating the Indiana Pacers" Kurt Angle-Raw-5/22/00 in Indiana "I think I know why this is called the Windy City, this town blows!" I know that Booker Japan shampoo sketch by heart (well mostly) "Yo Japanese People, what the deal with your nasty hair? Now you may know all about Kung-fU (does karate poses) but that doesn't mean you know shampoo New Yakamoshi shampoo- It won't make your hair look as good as mine (shakes head) but hey you gotta start somewhere"

    All 3 Wrestlemania Sets

I have the legacy (1-14) set i think that in 99 there was a new legacy set that included 15. yea I was dumb and actually paid the 149 buck srp for the set back in jan 00. I was sad to see there were in ep, and they were kinda bad as I had a mon non 4 head vcr tv combo at the time. they play better on my new 4 head hifi stereo vcr, although the tracking sometimes gives me a prob but they sound better. there are indeed not the coliseum versions, they must have been made from the masters. on wm 4 they clipped out some promos obviuosly as it only runs around 3:45 I think (the only thing i can think of being cuts are the prom where heenan receives a package and also robin leech opening the tourney-they cut directly from jesse/gorilla to hacksaw entering the ring on wm 5 the only notable cut is the no holds barred promo wm 6 cuts out the demolition post match interview wm7 cut out the demo interview as well as their japanese opponents interview but nothing much else I don't belive (and in the CHV of this they briefly clipped the savage/warrior match i believe) on wm 13 they clip out the wm 13 logo begin-they cut directly from the end of the opening video to the fireworks in the arena-guess they didnt want to advertise the sponsor for that event playstation without compensation lol also cut out sunny and brian pillman shilling the hotline as well the NOD rappers (pg13) in the ring cuz on the live ppv a graphic displaying the site of wm 14 is shown (with a different logo than the one that is used) so they cut directly from them entering the ring to lod/ahmed entering and the wm 14 on this set, sadly cut out the opening video(luckily I have a tape taped off the ppv broadcast), but they added the post show press conference with tyson/austin that was on the orignal wwf home video of the show this is all I can think of right now I guess even though they suck in quality, itll probably be the best we get, as any future dvd release would definately have to edit out all wwf references and scratch logos as well as some themes oh yea on my legacy wm1 they dont edit JYD, wendi richter,us express, or hogans themes oddly enough (thankfully I guess)

When were you last a mark?

well I started watching wrestling as a real fan starting with survivor series 90. after that I watched wwf and wcw constantly, as well as local ny area indy feds on tv. I had always haeard aboutit being fake but always thought like a mark. in 8th grade (96ish) we got the net on our school comps, but I didnt go to any smark sites, I was just looking for pics and themes fall of 97 in 1oth grade i went online at school. at first mostly to wcw and wwf sites, but a friend of mine was always going to "rumor" saites, and in my search for wrestling sites I came across these and read that Glen Jacobs aka issac yankem aka fake diesel was going to be portraying kane (this was in sept 97 a month before kane debuted) I guess that technically started me off. But it finally changed in may of 98 when my family got webtv. I started reading sites like the internet wrestling zone, which had insider news and spoilers and the like. So the summer of 98 was when I first started thinking like a smark. One of the sites I went to had a column by a guy who practically worshipped Benoit. I finally found rantslyvania in sept 99 (senior year of high school) after that I started trying to thi k and talk like the keiths of the world, even if I didnt really know what I was saying. I even had my own column from december 99- may 00 on a small site called the Wrestling Cavern (called Frank's Bottom Line) where I basically ripped off every smark writer in how I reviewed the tv shows and news. man was that bad. after 98 I didnt feel so bad to cheer for heels. jericho was one of the heel i actively cheered for in my smark era (as I had been a fan of his since I first saw him in wcw ) Lately I try not to be thinking all smarky like as it has ruined my enjoyment. as I have gotten older and stuff, I don't enjoy a show like I used to, as I can basically know whos going to win the big matches on ppvs and such. (and I was actually bored by some of the benoit dvd so go figure) Going to a live show reinvigorates the mark in me as well as watching wm or old tapes, or a good angle but I guess I can't quit watching, if only by force of habit (and this is coming from someone who subscribes to raw and sd magazine as well as taping every raw/sd and buying lots of tapes and dvds)

    MY LIVE REPORT OF RAW

Hey all you smarks, I'm here for my report, sorry it's late. First of all, driving from Ventura County to Orange County is like death. Especially with at least 15 trucks on the freeway at one point. So we got to the pond area about 1:30. Went across the street and grabbed some lunch for awhile. Went over to pond parking lot around 3:00 and parked. I took a picture in front of the WWE trucks and then my dad and I went over to the building. People were standing everywhere. I found out from this guy that Flair had done a book signing earlier in the day. Said he was kinda nasty to everyone except kids and women. So we talked with people in line for awhile. Then about 4:30 security got ready and came out. It appeared that they were just training them how to use the devices (which made me fear for their sanity). One of the guards mentioned he saw Rock earlier so we knew he'd be there. wen went through security and got inside to our seats. They also checked signs. Said something about no personal signs or websites. but i saw plenty inside (no numbers, except for 619 or 316-hello rey and austin will not be on this show DUH) they weren't so bad, we were sitting to the right and up of the ring as you see it on the regular middle cam on tv. the pond is much smaller than I would have thought and since the set and ring arent so big too, they seemed closer to us. after buying some 4.50 sodas (no food, cuz we were not going to waste that much) checked the merchandise but they had no RAW shirts. weirdly they sell smackdown shirts at raw (which I don't think they should but....) so we went back to the seats (which are far too small btw) and soon the fink came out and heat started. al snow and todd grisham are your announcers for heat this week. We got the histroy of wwe desire video (with new shots of guys like cena added in so it was different, probably didnt want to show too much blurries lol) it got a nice ovation except for when they showed WCW (you stupid sheep) 1st match:Rodney Mack defeated Maven by pin Boring match but the crowd was behind maven. I didn't clearly see the finish as the morons ahead of me kept standing up and holding up the same sign all night as if they were going to get on tv. Also of note, REodney Mack has a terrible new theme and it just keeps looping over and over (and the sound system was far too loud) 2nd Match Chuck Palumbo pinned some bald jobber (sorry I didn't hear his name)annouced from Anaheim with a fallaway slam. Crowd didnt react to the joober except for a few who yelled hey look a jobber. match was longer than it needed to be. The generic bald jobber in blue tights from anaheim actually kicked out of the "association of Italian businessmen's kick" (tm al snow) crowd didn't care. most popped for Palumbo's win. My dad did too since he is Italian. 3rd match Chris Benoit def Tyson Tomko w/Trish by tapout to the crossface Benoit got a HUGE pop, and the crowd was behind him loudly the whole match. As I sat there bewildered that this guy goes from Main eventing Summerslam, to main-eventing Heat. Ok match, but I missed some as my throw away camera was giving my trouble. Benoit hit a total of 9 germans on tomko in two sets (including 7 in a row) then hit the head BUTT to a big pop for only 2 (are all the crowd imitating Canada now, with the whole 2 thing?) Tries the sharpshooter again. Trish jumps on the apron and Benoit goes over to her (as most chanted hit her- one guy yelled kiss her) tomko went for his big boot . but Benoit ducked and countered into the crossface for the win (I believe, but my ememory is foggy again for some reason) Crowd gave Benoit a standing ovation all the way up the ramp (which is not that long as it looks on TV) and thats it? maybe they ran out of time. Fink has some guy shoot the tshirt gun with some unforgiven shirts (oh god they're shilling for the ppv now) I went for a restroom break, while they shot the teaser commercial lillian badly sings the national anthem, while most disrespect it by talking and/or whating (GOD END THIS THING NOW MOST HAVE STOPPED OK CALI) Coach comes out to boos and some cheering (hey I cheered for him) the show opening hits and the pyro is loud and hot. Opening segment Coach is funny and crowd is glad to see Rock, who got the second biggest pop of the night. But it dragged far too long and the crowd was even bored halfway thru and we chanted for a match. I thought it was bad to watch this diva junk on tv but its far worse live. But not as quite annoying since when you are there, live anything seems fun. Chris Jericho def Edge by DQ. Crowd was hot for Jericho and booed Edge (except for a few girls) I missed the false finsih as the morns again had to stand up. During the break the lillian annnounced that if Edge did not come back by the 10 count that he would be suspended immediately (how is he the gm now? oh I see they didn't show it on tv) 2nd part of match was better with nice moves. Too bad I was annoyed by the idiots behind discussing how dissapointed they were that Jericho had won the undisputed title GOD ARE THERE NO SMAKRS HERE? ending came out of nowhere and didn't make sense (but I figured as much that they'd be promoting the ppv) during the break, Lilian announced that Fozzy would be playing a gig later tomite at disneys house of blues (I won't be going since I'm with my dad and we have to drive 2 hours home) evolution promo was ok, as crowd still pops for the hhh entrance. Randy got a nice reaction (despite still coming out to the evolution video and music-even though I think the music fits him perfectly-I think he should continue using it to stick it to Trips and co.) Crowd booed cuz they thought he'd hand over the belt (HELLO< HOW LONG HAVE YOU PEOPLE BEEN WATCHING WRESTLING? 5 MINUTES???) they popped big for the spit (which I didnt see clear enough so I had no clue what happened, and then the beltshot (which missed by about 2 feet from my angle) ran in the crowd and they cheered all thru the break-reminded me alot of the DDP/nWo feud. William Regal pinned Ric Flair with the "Power of the Punch" Regal and Euguene got a big pop. During the break eugene ran up to king and jr and put on jrs hat and then lawlers crown. Regal got him back to the ring. Flair got a nice ovation as per usual. Entertaining match live, as I was shocked that they gave this so much time. Crowd wooed for the chops, which were loud and nasty sounding. Pretty good stiff shots by Regal too. During the break, you missed Regal putting on the figure four to a loud pop. Crowd popped loud again for Benoit (are you listening WWE? I doubt it) ending was cute. Regal looked great and is working nicely as a face. Then they took 15 mins to set up the wedding (as I cried that we had only seen 5 freakin matches) The crowd went nuts when they heard the HBK song, somehwo thinking he was there (despite last weeks show having the same teaser), except for me who sat and laughed at them Crowd popped for Kane actually and Lita didn't get an exactly warm reaction despite what you might have heard. They booed bischoff and the midgets and the minister who did some of the worst acting ever. And Lita messed up her lines, even with a cue card. when matts music palyed, we saw the pyro setup and a little bit of flames on it (you could see it on tv briefy) we saw matt coming thru the crowd so the corwd popped. When the pyro hit it was lou and really hot even up where we sat. Of course I yelled out loud to just walk up the side of the ramp. Matt got introd to the convenietly placed table of doom. after the show ended the midegsta dn minister satyed in the ring so we waited for 10 mins for something to happen, then Lillian says goodnight (stupid useless...) Getting out of there was a horror show as cars wanted to run you over, then when we finally got in the car we had to wait as the zombie army walked to there cars, right in fron of our car too. (shoulda ran them over hehe) it took forever as they had only one guy directing traffic, and we went all the way around the back exit . took awhile to find the freeway which we finally did and endured 2 more insane hours. so all in all I had a fun time, even if the show was very subpar. They haded us a postcard to send in for info on manaia tix and i sent it in as I will never go to anaheim again (far too long drive and one of the worst crowds ever)\ Biggest Pops 1. Benoit (no lie) 2 Rock 3.Euegene/Regal/ jericho/flair/orton (tie) biggest heat 1/evolution 2. coach. 3.bischoff

That was summerslam 01 after angle won against austin by dq from wcw ref nick patrick Jr went on a rant about how Austin cant beat angle then.. Heyman (looks into camera) yknow this saturday night the wwf has a brand new show debuting called Excess

    Mr. Bob Backlund

Isn't Bob now offically recogniozed as a 3 time wwf champion? They had it on the title histories site, they acknowledged inoki as a champ. Anyways I remember the 94 angle well. 10 years ago this month on superstars. after the match with bret he went to shake his hand, and slapped him he put on the CFCW and wouldnt let go. when he did he kept staring at his hands (which I guess was part of the shango angle, but he got over so they dropped that and shango got repackaged as Kama) he attacked wwf magazine writer Lou Gianfriddo as well as Skaaland on RAW. I remember I found out about the ss 94 title change by watching the ppv on scramblevision. ON sat they aired superstars and shilled that nights msg houseshow and that Bret wouldnt be there and Diesel would be taking his place. The next morning on challenge they announced the title change I think. On Raw soon thereafter vince interviewed Diesel as they set him up as the Hogan like babyface. I only watched the ppv once (rented it on video at the end of 94) but I belive that was a great match. I was confused when Bret lost the belt only for diesel to win it right after . weird stuff I agree with Scott Keith who thought Backlund coulda stayed champ till mania and be dethroned by HBK instead since he was the one getting the face pops more than Diesel. What I mean is HBK should have been the face in the split of NASH/Shawn. Diesel basically bombed as champ, since they took away his cool attitude and made him a wimp and gave him lousy opponents like sid and freakin Mabel

    The nWo Propaganda Videos

I remember them well. One you didnt mention was one where they were hawking outsiders shirts and had them modeled by "international male model of the year" Syxx or something like that BUY THE SHIRT BUY THE SHIRT dude I totally remember nWo SN what ever happened to that angle they just dropped it. Funny how I think this is cool now but back then I was still sorta a mark and hated the nWo (well I think it was because I was reluctant to cheer the bad guys but they had nash and hall two of my favs from the wwf years) Though I did badly want an nWo shirt for some reason I was very upset when we thought Sting had joined the nWo- but then again I should have paid better attention as that clearly was not Sting.

    WWF Laserdiscs

wrestlemania was on laserdisc? wow were laser discs even good? I mean compared to dvds. my junior high science class had a LD player and we watched some science films on it and I remember being intrigued as I hadn't heard of them before (this was about 95)

    Doomsday Cage Match

The match was originally supposed to have only Hogan in it against 4 or 5 guys(Imagine the compalints if hogan himself had beaten 8 guys) but savage offered his help. I have the THV version of the ppv. Michael Buffer gives really funny ring intros (he called hogan/savage the mega force-even though they had been calling themselves the megapowers again for some time) What I got from the announcers is that the object was for hogan and savage to escape each level (not by pinning but by going through the doors on the floor) and when they moved on the guys in the above cage were eliminated. then when they got to the bottom, theyd have to pin someone I guess. \ Zgangsta and ultimate solution did not show up at the beginning and tony kept wondering where Brian Pillman was. and when they escaped they didnt from the ring one, they went down the scallfolding which wast here so they could walk to the top at the start of the match. and at one point hogan throws kevin sullivan into the barrier almost throwing him of the scallfold a long way to the concrete below (thank god he held on or we would have had another tragic wrestling death) they fight on the floor and hogan uses a tool bag as a weapon I should point out that hogan is wearing hulkster workout pants(same he wore the night the nwo was formed) as opposed to the trunks, while savage is dressed in his familiar frilly garb also colored red and yellow. They fought to the ring with flair and sullivan I think, then the rest made their way up even tony is confused by this point thinking they had been elminated zg and us come out and drag them back to the ring in the bottom of the cage. they fight then booty man gave them frying pans. flair grabbed savage and luger put on a black glove (or a weighted glove as tony put it) and went to hit mach. Savage ducked and luger stopped, then decked flair anyway (again playing the whose side is Luger on bit-which I thought was kinda interesting due to his interaction with sting) hogan and savage go to leave, then randy realizes he probably should pin someone and pins flair, then they leave and pose end of show all in all a pretty crappy show outside of a decent eddie/konnan opener and an underated stiff match between Regal and Fit Finley (only the lame dq finish drags it down as the two guys literally beat the snot out of each other---and you have to love Dusty Rhodes talking about "Jives" (before you ask, the blue bloods-at the time a trio with Earl Robert Eaton and Squire David Taylor- had a butler named Jeeves who wore a george washington like wig and was constantly abused by the guys- and Dusty always called him Jives or Chives or somethin and bobby or tony would always question him on that.) The sting/booker T vs LOD match is far too long and very boring for the most part madusa/parker have a short comedy match that isn't too bad. DDP/Booty Man have a 16 min long, boring match and the giant squashes loch ness in 2 mins (what is the deal with that they bring in loch ness as the next big heel for hogan and they promptly turn him face and job him out in short order? then again he sucked badly in the ring) THEY BE CLUBBERIN TONY HE GOT THE PLUNDER AND THEY BE CLUBBERIN

    The Narcissist Shawn Michaels

I think it was mainly to advance storylines. Heel A talking with Heel B. Babyface A walks in and attacks Heel A. Heel B attacks Babyface A, setting up a feud, and moving Heel A into another feud. Yeah I think it was to. Remember Perfect had a feud with HBK for the IC title at Summerslam and lost the feud badly. Man did Perfect have a shitty run as a face. It started off pretty good with him leaving Bobby and Flair and having the tag match at SurSer and the feud with Flair but, afterwards it's just seemed to bomb. I guess cause the me and, I'm sure alot of other fans, Perfect made a far better heel and a so-so face. I dont know, but Perfect did seem pretty over as a face with the crowd. (check out his intro as special ref at wm 10 for example). and as a mark, I loved him. I think that if Flair didn't leave, the 2 could have had a great feud and a wm 9 match to boot

    ESPN NFL 2K5 Thread

I finally finished my 1st year with the g-men. We won the superbowl 59-3 over the pats (yea I really need to beef up the difficulty) I forget who was mvp I want to know why there is no cutscene with the players holding up the vince lombardi trophy as all I saw was the mvp award then the palyers in the lockeroom celebrating. all in all , it was a cool presentation of the superbowl. In the offseason, Warner demanded a 7 year contract so I agreed, then traded him promplty to the steelers for tommy maddox, who will serve as backup as eli is ready to take the ball. I let jesse palmer walk and signed kelly holcomb cheap to be the 3rd string guy. Ron Danye signed somewhere else but I still had the reigning mvp. some guys retired and I was left with no hbs so i signed one thru free agency and drafted one. Unfortuanately I was all out of cap room on draft sign day so I was only able to sign my 1st round guy (but its cool cuz thats all I needed) BUT Tiki broke his kneecap in the preseason and will be gone for 15 weeks of the season. so I started the 05 season with delvin joyce (is he even on the gints anymore?) as the starting rb. I won my first game against the cowboys 35-21 in a tough hard fought game eli threw for 4 tds but had two ints

    Andy Kaufman

I think that he was a brilliant comedian in the grain of intellectual humor, but he wasn't your standard funny guy. If you enjoy messing with people'd minds, then you'd probably enjoy his work. After seeing Man on The Moon, I really do see his genius and he truly was way ahead of his time. Stuff like putting rolling black bars on the screen so the people at home would get up and hit the tv. I saw the Im from Hollywood on comedy central a bunch of times, it's really entertaining and is a great overview of andys wrestling antics You have to be something special if your parents don't believe you when you say you are dying

Anyone NOT switch over to DVD yet?

well 30 is the srp from wwe. but besides that, I didn't know I was going to walmart today. I should have mentioned that I don't drive (which is a major disadvantage in southern cali) Besides I was getting paid today anyways, so I thought, no biggie and walmart isn't always reliable in their wwe selctions

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Do you guys have any idea how weird and/or obssesed you sound? I'm not insulting you, in fact that's the highest praise for Buffgel fans(hey a new term coined) and besides we all know Elvis works at a Mcdonalds in Pittsburgh although an Anya/Elvis afterlife sitcom would be GOLD

Anyone NOT switch over to DVD yet?

I just picked up the Benoit dvd yesterday at suncoast for 29.99, the sad thing is today I was at walmart and they had it for 18.96 (damn I should have waited) but I did pick up Backlash 04 there today for only 14.96, they also had Great American Bash, Vengeance 04, and the Cena dvd

    Everyone's least favorite Diva Hopeful

Since WWE is aparently trying to script this contest, Carmela will probably win. The fans buy it too, as at RAW live, they were booing her a ton I just can't believe anyone is paying attention to this They're not even looking for a wrestler, wtf is a diva anyway? and besides this, we watch wrestling for wrestling, not goofy fake contests and I'm not surprised about Tracie, as I think they only put her in the final 10 just to have a Black girl on there and not be considered rasist (although that fact just makes it more obvious) and especially considering that they put twins on there (and how did they not got eliminated back to back, was there any difference between them-looks or personality wise?) and if they are not booking this, they just want carm gone since she missed the all important buyrate balooner known as Diva Dodgeball. If I had to pick a winner, I would choose Carm, if only because she is Italian lol

    MY LIVE REPORT OF RAW

sorry about it if it was hard to read. I was rushing when I wrote it, as someone else needed to use the computer. I probably should have typed it in word first, proofread it, then posted it. And also, I wasn't trying to write too much about the matches, since I assumed everyone had seen and/or will see them(in case of the heat ones). sorry again for the trouble. anyway, are there any other questions? I should have noted that Method Man got more face pops than any wrestler on the card except for Benoit. And if you heard any weird crowd reaction on TV, it was probably for him (they popped for him leaving for a bathrrom break for crying out loud)

    Can Orton Make Friends?

I was at Raw on Monday and after Orton stood up to Trips, the crowd poopped big time, louder than it came across on tv. and during the break as well (sadly I think the crowd was full of marks as everyone booed and thought he would hand over the belt) and yea i also thought it reminded me of the ddp/nwo thing (especially since Randy ran into the crowd and celebrated with them now if only foley would come back again, then youd have a partner (simple, he challenged orton to grow up and be a man as well, and he did, and he beat cactus jack clean in his own style of match, he has to have some respect for him) but then again jericho maybe, since he also has the cocky tude as well (despite being a face-and yea edge got booed bigtime at raw too)
