Taker/Kane-Kronik isnt as bad as many would lead you to believe, I think the smarks hatred for these teams is what got it that much hate. I watched it again recently, and aside from being slow paced, its like a regualr formula tag match, just really slow. not as offensive as say steiner-hhh or taker-austin from backlash 02 (30 mins of my life that I want back) taker-big show from nwo 03, not that bad but went on far too long, I was looking at my watch, and yelling "this match is still going on?" my friend was rotfl at that. and I agree with rvd-lynn. The match is slow paced (cuz of rvds constant stalling and lynn getting legit hurt slowing it down some more) botches a few spots and just has nothing to it. Now I dont have a big problem with botched moves, hey it happens. If wrestling were real, would even move hit with precision every time? NO. Just cover it better and move on (NO REPEATING THE SPOT) For example, Jericho-Benoit from backlash 2000, jericho goes to hit benoit (on the apron) with the springboard dropkick, Jericho misses but Benoit sells it like he meant that to happen and moved out of the way. Crowd totally bought it. and brock really should not have tried the ssp at wm 19 when he got to the top, he knew he was too far away. He should have landed a flying elbow or something easy and got a two count, then looked up again and drag angle to a better position for it. Imagine if he had hit it perfectly. It would have forever be remembered as an awesome end to a great match, instead of "That match where Brock nearly crippled himself" But at least Kurt kinda moved out of the way to lessen the impact and then improvised a cover and 2 count to kinda make it look like that was meant to happen.

My imagined Powebomb ddt AKA The Bronx Bomb (Wrestler A puts Wrestler B between his legs in position for a powerbomb, then lifts him up in the air, holds him there for a sec-like takers last ride- then drops him forward and down straight into a ddt) It's probably too dangerous to actually try but if you have a smaller , agile guy in the air he could position himself right)

dxs s*ck it didnt catch on til dx v2.0. I dont recall shawn or trips saying it much(or even at all quite frankly, but I may have forgotten) but it was on their tshirt. but when we got face dx we got stuck with this annoying phrase especially road doggs and billys spiel as for others Back The Mack (down with the brown is close but dlo got canned too quickly into the angle) Free at last free at last, free to cane a white boys ass (well theodore only said it once on the MLK day ep of raw in 03 where he was introd as dlos manager in a cane match with tommy dreamer) Thuggin and buggin never got over Then again I guess I like Teddys lines but they dont get over with the crowd much How about Mike Sander's "SOL" line WCW 2000 CLB has never caught on and JR should just let it die and while we mention Christian, his new baby goes to sleep line will probably never catch much attention Then again Trish's whole stratusfaction thing is pretty retarded anyway as well

Suprising moves that a wrestler has used.
Jericholic82 replied to DangerousDamon's topic in General Wrestling
vaders moonsault always wowed me. Lex Luger racking the giant ranks up there in my eyes as it was shocking to most. so I see that Samoa Joe is becoming very well know on the net. I used to see him at my local socal indies for years (from 98-01) and who'd a thunk it, now he's making a name for himself. Though he was a good wrestler when I saw him (really was agile for a bigger guy even back then), I guess he improved even more for the smarks to be gushing. Cuz here he basically was in a tag team with a fat samoan rikishi wannabe guy. but he was cool and would talk to the fans after the show. -
How about ric flairs 2nd wwf title win? You'd have to think that their rematch would've made it to ppv, possibly at survivor series 92. but one weekend I turn on superstars and see that flair has beaten savage at a non televised event, but they showed some footage. btw did that match ever make it to a coliseum video of any kind? for me personally WWF Bret Hart's 1st: really shocking as flair had just regained the title and was busy feuding with savage and warrior. but on a sat afternoon, I turn on my tv to see that bret (prob my fav wrestler at the time) had won the world title. wow another one has to be barry windham beating steve austin for the tv title in a 2/3 falls match on wcw sat night. It was totally unexpected by me at least sting losing the wcw title to vader at GAB 92 is another one. I mean Sting had only had the belt for like 4 months abd the way they built the match up youd think that sting would get a close win over the monster (cuz thats the way the wwf used to do that), and as a mark I thought he could pull the upset but then again I had been used to vince mcmahons booking . and the match itself? brutal. Vader basically squashed sting for 16 or 17 mins and I'll never forget the crowd as they (and I) slowly realized that sting was a dead man walking. 7-6-98 goldberg winning the wcw title was insane. For weeks on the net there was a rumor of a hogan/goldberg match on that nitro, but off air (since it was gbs home and we thought theyd save the real match for ppv, which they probably should have). that day I went to disneyland and didnt get home tilll late, but I had set the timer on the vcr to record both nitro and raw (this was before tnt went to two seperate feeds for the east and west coast and I could see nitro live at 5 and raw at 9. But I got home to realize I had accidentally set the timer to record tnt for only 2 hours, forgeting that nitro had recently switched to 3 hours long. man was I angry, I had to go online to find out and I was shocked. I still have that tape and wish I had the whole show on it. I did get the full raw and if anyone recalls it was a taped raw where DX impersonated the nation and undertaker dressed up as kane to win the number one contenders spot for sumerslam.

tnt aired gunns first appearance episdoe (Im sorry Im not good with the names of all the eps) yesterday. Interesting to watch again. good intro for him and his first emotional moment (his sister is sired by those vamps and he has to stake her). of course it also offered some lighthearted moments with wesley and cordelia. that means its time for the quote of the day "Cordy:Oh the smell of that salt air Wes: That's not salt in the air (pull back to reveal them in a slumy part of town) wes gets an iced coffee type drink (I wouldnt know what its called, I dont drink coffee or lattes or whatever that crap is) "Wes:I ordered a coffee, what is this? LATER:I think theres coffee in here somewhere." "Cordy:I think, professionally speaking, I'd like to prostitute myself to billionaire david (whatevber his name is). -

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
Jericholic82 replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
Not to be a buzzkill or anything, but this is the Angel thread isnt it? Listen I agree with hating that characters died in both shows, but that's the nature of them, fighting evil has consequences. If all in the buffy-angel land was real, most of us would be dead in a second, I mean one slayer (ok 2 when faith, then all the sits but you get my point) to defend everyone in the country? That just reminded me, what the hell happened to the rest of the country (and cali) in the buffyverse. who fights evil in the midwest, the east coast, etc. funny how the slayer only saved a small town outside la . Then again maybe I am thinking too much. I understand why we get so upset at our favs dying in a series finale. Because had they lived, then we could make up in our minds what happens next. and yea when is death ever final (well except for poor Tara) and one more thing wtf ever happened to OZ? I know he got mad when he found out willow moved on but come on, he was a major character for the better part of 2 seasons, couldn't he have at least been there at the end, and maybe even showed up on angel (outside of the season 1 ep where he did make a cameo) I guess Seth was busy or something. I would do a quote here, but I can't think of a good one, guys help me out here -
I just bought (on memorial day ) gta vice city (ps2)used for only 15 bucks at game crazy (hollywood video). It didnt even have a real box, so I made my own cover. Only got it cuz it hard to find by itself and where it is, it cots 29.95 or more. plus its an original version with none of the changes made in the dp one so I went for it, cuz I was dying to see what all the hype was about (I had already bought gta 3 greatest hits version last year so i didnt want the dp). before that in april, I bought All Star Baseball 05 (ps2) hey it was only 39.95 and it has Derek F'ing Jeter on the cover lol but seriously , I like it and love playing franchise mode, though it is totally unrealistic, as my yanks are 104-9 in august and gary sheffield and arod have 74 hrs each already and jose contreras is 17-0. Man I should start playing on the highest difficulty lol. but I will not use anything other then the easy-timing bat mode cuz the icons are hard and pointless. also have a second expansion mode with the Edmonton Fury (dont ask why I picked canada though I live in California and am a native new yorker, just thought it needed a baseball team, lol)

TV shows that lost their "place in history"
Jericholic82 replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Television & Film
speaking of boston public, what the hell happeneded to it? did it get canned? It hasn't been on since like february and no mention was made since. that kinda sucks, cuz I was liking this season so far. and I agree with family matters. It got bad in 97 when abc canned it and it sucked on cbs with a different harriete and the fact that laura and steve (not stefan) got engaged, they should have saved that for the finale, (laura finally accepts steve as he is) if it had been better Still one of my favorite shows and still watch reruns. \ How about Boy meets world, started off kinda funny, then they moved to seventh grade and things changed, but still good (and the fact that VADER WAS FRANKIE STACCINOS(sp?) DAD) got lame towards the end, when they went to college and FREAKIN MR FEENEY WENT WITH THEM (UGHH can you imagine your teacher/prinicpal being all stalker like?) that was more contrived then a saved by the bell episode (though I love that show anyway) married... was at its best IMO after Jefferson debuted and it got dumb about 95 when buck died but came back as the new dog, and then they kept shifting the day and timeslot until they canned it and we didnt get a real series finale. but still a landmark show. and how can you not love PSYCHO DAD I disagree with the simpsons, I still enjoy it, though it does get tiresome, because as south park once put it its been on forever of course theyve covered everything. I enjoyed the london ep in particular. Pyscho Dad theme (a few verses from a collection of mwc eps) Who's that riding into the sun? whos that man with the great big gun? whos the man who kills for fun? PYSCHO DAD, PSYCHO DAD, PSYCHO DAD, he's quick with a gun, but he loves his son, killed his wife cuz she weighed a ton. PYSCHO DAD PSYCHO DAD PSYCHO DAD Who's that tall dark stranger there? Who's the man with the icy stare? the one with the scalp of his ex-wife's hair? PYSCHO DAD PYSCHO DAD PYSCHO DAD He's quick with a gun, and his job aint done, killed his wife by 21 PYSCHO DAD PSYCHO DAD PSYCHO DAD Killed his wife cuz she had a cold, might as well she was getting old PYSCHO DAD PSYCHO DAD PYSCHO DAD -
The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Damn, that was a hell of alot of buffy talk on this angel thread since I last visited the site. Good discussions by all, though trying to rationalize something as intricate as the buffy-angelverse might be a mistake lol. As for my angel thought of the day: I finally re-watched not fade away the other day and I found it to be a brilliant finale. I just wish it would have been a two hour show instead. Hey and I found out that connor remembers his old life. I missed that the first time while switching back and forth with the yankees game. I watched the episode on tnt yesterday (friday) . I forget the name, but it's the one in season # 1 where Angel saves the actress and becomes her bodyguard. I liked it more the second time (I watched seasons 1-4 for the first time on tnt this past year-like I said before I wish I would have gotten into these shows years ago). And I found it ironic how cordy mentions that the actress, named Rebecca Lowell, show was cancelled by the idiot network . and how she was going to protest but there was a big sale at the mall or somethin. and the beggining is gold as you see a close up of angel and wes talking about how there's no way out of this place and stuff and then the camera reveals cordy doing a play (his somethin was so so....LINE?!!!!!!) Cordy before season 3 was always good for a laugh. After Wes subdues "Angelus" (created when angel is drugged by rebecca, that creates a false happy feeling-making angel think he is angelus), Angel wakles up in the mornining to discover he is chained and I do mean chained to the bed, with cordy and wes looking on. Angel apologizes for his angelus comments, but the 2 say all is forgiven. Wes leaves, cordy and angel talk and angel realizes all of a sudden.... "Angel: You're not going to untie me are you? Cordy: pfffttt (rasberry noise) Cordy leaves and we fade into the closing credits with angel yelling out Cordy, Wes, guys? Angel qoute of the day from the above mentioned episode Cordy: I made the paper!!!! Wes: Wow, they reviewed your play? Cordy: No I'm in this picture with rebecca Wes: Where? Cordy: Right there, that's my elbow!!! (said like it makes her extremely proud) and angel singing "everybody have fun tonight" owns all anybody else think that we NEED an Angel video game, done GTA style? I finally got vice city used (hey I got it cheap for 15 bucks, its hard to find by itself these days and it costs 30 bucks online, plus its an original version, without the cuts made in the double pack, it didnt come with the box, buy hey, I made my one cover lol) at hollywood videos game crazy, great game. good sales there, they even had the 2nd buffy game on ps2 for only 20 bucks, but I have heard bad things about it. are they true? I mean is the game worth a rental or purchase? I must own the dvd sets now!! must...get...offf..couch..and...get...a....job hey, how about a new angel/buffy topic: have any of you had dreams of buffy/angel characters (and I'm not talking about perverted dreams those can go in the love/dating forum lol) if so, what are your best ones. I know I'm reaching there, but we're running out of new ideas and we want to keep this topic alive. -
Duh its obviously "The Scout" one of my fav baseball movies ever. How many agree? out of the ones mentioned I'd say Forrest Gump, if only cuz it was the oscar winner
-
good points, like I said I'm not an expert, I don't pay that much attention to the details. sorry if I offended anyone. thanks for responding to my post though.
-
I just remembered Dustin Rhodes at spring stampede 94 vs bunkhouse buck. a trademark rhodes bladejob. HHH at Royal Rumble 00 gets an honorable mention, as his hair was literally dyed red. but still not as sick as others you've mentioned. and one great chairshot not mentioned is Undertaker on vince mcmahon on the first smackdown (a upn specil in april 99)
-
they also aired the hhh/henry godwinn hogpen match on that raw. man those are some sick pics of eddie. and they had the gall to book a dq ending? thought they woulda learned after the near riot of unforgiven 02 (I was there and the crowd was to say it lightly, not pleased with the brock/taker non-finish)
-
In fact this was never mentioned again until the raw 10th anniversary i think
-
The angle was dropped right after that. Mark Henry dissapeared from tv and was sent to OVW, not to return until 2002. mae went on to feud with moolah and each of theme were in the corners of terri and the kat at wm2000's cat fight.

I concur Superstar Man I got to get a cool sig and pictures and stuff -
I expect Diana to outsell fantasia, because lately the scene has been domintaed by r and b and hip hop/rap. the pop craze has simmered down alot. It may take one person with the right image to bring it back to fruition. that could be diana because, 1 she is only 16, 2. she isnt coompletely fake 3. she has more of a girl next door thing then most of the pop stars out there . she'd be like jessica simpson, with actual sining talent (now dont hate me on this, but I'm not impressed by her singing or her phony image.) and I think Ruben is doing so poorly because he's nothing original and his songs all seem to sound alike, plus there are so many talented r and b singers out there its hard to break ground. buy hey, who am I ? just some regular joe schmo with a net connection best we listen to the judges right? good luck to the idol finalists, cuz they may need it.

I want that Xander sitcom on tv stat!!! Brilliant work, kudos. although this discredits my idea of anya coming back as a lovedetecting machine simpsons fans only apply to that joke How about a Lorne show where he is a judge on an american idol ripoff show or how about he replaces (in character) randy jackson on idol next season? btw I watched the season one episode with the asian lady from another dimension or sometin and the best part is Angel thinking about dancing with the lady at the party. or when wes slips on coffee beans I cant decide. Or when wes tries to pick up on the alien chicks. and man it's weird to see wuss wesley in the first season after what he became in season 4 . but he was much more funny as the nerd. Angel quote of the day from the above mentioned episode ( I don't recall the name do you guys?) "Angel: Would you like a job? Wesley: Oh yes please. Cordy: huh? Angel: well if you do your part around here, you deserve a cut. Cordy: Do I have to take a pay cut? Angel:No Cordy: Great idea. (or somethin I dont have this verbatim) -
wow I didnt think my crappy thread would get this much response. I was just bored and had nothing to write about and then it came in the mail. and I wanted to start my own thread. yea it (raw mag) sucks now, wish I had subscribed back when it was semi-shoot. I have been subscribing to wwf/wwe/sd mag since early 92 so its been a collecters habit i guess. then they had to go and split the mags. So i went and subscribed to raw too . anyways I just collect them for the pictures, and ppv results and posters and junk. wrestling magazines are so out of touch these days as the internet gets you news right away, not 2 months later. and wwe mags are mostly crap, but still fun to have in my collection. (as a sad side note, my mags from 1991-1994 were recently ruined by a flood in a NY storagehouse, damn it, I knew I should've sent for them sooner-I also had old wcw and pwis and all kinds of them) and when did I become a rambling madman?
-
Ok, it has Edge on the cover and has articles on him benoit going home to edmonton, a wm xx poster (to complete the set of them-damn I missed a few), victoria article, part 2 of the story of historys greatest wrestling stables, an article on Jon Heidenreich for some reason, and Backlash results. and also ads for bad blood(featuring Edge?) and great american bash(Featuring Torrie with an Uncle Sam outfit on). Well I'm off to read it, I'll check back in later with more details and my thoughts.

I am kinda put off by the fact that the judeges were pushing america to vote for fantasia. that and the fact that the sound system was screwed up for two nights straight. anyones whos a sound person or is good with that sort of thing woulda understand what I mean. The mic seemed to have no effects on it. and I kinda think they rigged it to make fantasia sound better. but all in all I can accept her as the Idol. good for her. PS I was also irked that I heard someone say on TV something about Fantasia being wholesome. Now I am not one to throw stones, but doesnt she have a 2 year old kid? so that means she must got pregnant at age 16 or 17. I don't know where you guys come from but that's considered pretty unwholesome to me . but I must digress, she deserved to win. and Diana, one piece of advice, lay off the helium tank. dear god thats an annoying speaking voice

Hey I kinda liked this past season I did it out of love, love of not getting arrested lmao
