    Question about Jaws: The Revenge...

I guess I am one of few who actually liked Cable Guy. The best part is the parody of the oj trial with the two twin child stars. They show an ad for a tv movie about it and I was rotfl. that and when cable guuy beats up owen wilson in the bathroom. I saw jaws revenge when I was a kid , haven't seen it in years, so I don't remember much of anything about it. But it was on tnt last night, maybe it's on today, I'll have to catch it.

The ONE and ONLY Demolition Thread

I wasnt a fan of wrestling til survivor series 90 so i saw very little of the demos. but now watching old wms and other ppvs, I think I would have been a huge fan if I was watcing in those days (then again I was born at the the end of 82 so) The theme song from the piledriver albulm does rule, I thought for sure it would be on the anthology. Even if ax was suing vince, he could still use the song, jim johnston wrote it and derringer sang it just like real american so technically it belongs to wwe (and thats probably why we havent seen wm on dvd yet, besides all the mentions of wwf that would have to be edited out, all kinds of wrestlers from the past would come out of the woodworkd and demand compensation -but then again they came out with the wm box set in 97 then a new one in 98 (which I own). Anways I'm thoroughly confused now so I'll stop.

    Stiffest beating you've ever seen

I concur on the regal-finaly uncensored match, those 2 guys were pounding each other with some of the stiffest punches you'll ever see, I think regal had his nose broken or somethin in that match if I am not mistaken. How about the time in maybe 96 I think when Hunter Hearst Helmsley gave the sickest pedigree ever to some jobber. the kid took the move right on the top of his head. nearly killing him as it looked to me. it almost ended up a tiger driver '91 ( i think thats the name right?) I have seen that clip on the net somewhere. I remember when Saturn murdered that jobber, you can see in his face after the kid blew the move that saturn was pod to an insane degree. but that gave us crazy saturn which I actually enjoyed, even moppy. Vader once temporarily paralyzed a jobber name Joe Thurman with a powerbomb back in wcw in about 91 I think. Foley wrote about it in have a nice day. (Vader was so upset he was crying in the locker room the big softie that he is). How about when steve austin nearly took vinces head off with a chair shot at royal rumble 99 sick. or as foley wrote in foley is good, the time mideon swung a chair at his face like a baseball bat , the sound was disgusting (shudders)

    How much things have changed...

it had to be bossman, as many others have said, the week before on raw he was kicked out of the corporation, now austin had put in the contract of the ppv match that no corporation member could interfere. the night after ppv, bossman came down to his old music, got in the ring and hugged the corporation and said he loved them. so I guess we were to infer it was he who did it, but they didn't dwell on it and can you blame them, its Ray Freaking Traylor who hasn't had any heat since about 92. and yea the show is different now. And the reason why we watched is cuz were fans and its a habit. now being smarkish I dont enjoy wrestling as much, but still watch due to force of habit. and wcw wasn't all that bad in 99. must fans just listened to the hype and thought the wwf was the best cuz they won monday nights and had "attitude" . btw 99s ppvs werent that bad summerslam was pretty good as you had a decent opener in dlo/jarrett, a surprisingly good, rock/gunn match, and an above average triple threat ME (and cmon foley won the title). then again 99 was bad forget it. That was the best ppv of the year so what does that tell you. Though I enjoyed the rumble at the time and stil think its pretty decent, with my match of the year Mankind/Rock I quit and well the rumble wasnt great but it had a good story and a shocking win by vince mcmahon (dumb in theory but worked well with the angle that followed) and we get better tv matches now, but that doesnt bother me, the ppvs are where you get the longer matches and thats probably the best reason to order them. anything's better then jobber matches.

    Good/bad vignettes

How about HHH's vignettes when he first came to wwf in 95. Pretty lame, and I am sure he would rather not them be shown on tv now (quick someone in the truck play them on raw) I remember TL Hoppers plumber vignettes. and Jeryy Lawler in Issac Yankems dentist office lol Real Mans Man was gold too, Regal shaved with a knife cuz hes a man (He's a man, such a man, such a man, he's a real, real, real man's m an) oh no now I got to get out my anthology cd and crank that How about Nail'z promos from jail. They showed an empty cell and hallway with his annoying gravely voice over them. sounded like he was using a voice modulator but apparently, he really talked like that. I liked any of perfects videos, especially the ones from where he played sports and guys like Wade Boggs would stand in awe of his abilities. (pass to himself, genius)

    Favorite video package?

how about the wwf desire promos from late 01 set to creeds my sacrifice. btw the undertaker desire video set to adrenaline is really cool (it can be found on the unforgiven 02 dvd0 Then again I am a mark for that ppv cuz I was there (with floor seats in about the 12th row-awesome) as for a ppv opener, I liked x7s (though it was extremely overdramatic) I also liked wm 13s (basically announcing the era of attitude-"it's supposed to be a magical night, a time to rejoice--but tonight....none of these men are smiling) wm14 (the same people that buck tradition are destined to become a part of it-) wm 15 with fred blassie's voice over omg, I just remembered the wwf legends attitude promos, they gave me chills. judgment day 2000's "in a hour" opening package was very well done too. too many to post here, I'll let you other guys fill in some more.

Top ten Tag team combo move

how about the nasty boys elbow drop oh dude that was sweet lmao seriously though , another good one was the steiners bulldog while scott holds the opponent on his shoulders (like a doomsday device type of thing) taker and kanes double choke slam looked pretty cool too. any variation of the rocket launcher is cool. how about RVD and Sabus orginal rolling thunder?

    Bad wrestling ideas

dude , I can't believe that post is still up after two years, It cracked me up in 02 and had me in tears this morning. brilliant stuff, I think someone should start a new thread about this in the wwe folder.

    Shoot Comments

How about Edge and Christian announcing their plans for a run-in during an April 2000 RAW, doing commentary on a match involving their backlash opponents road dogg and xpac "Edge:Well King, basically what we are going to do , is that when road dogg and xpac look like they are going to win, we're going to basically interfere in the match, you see that's called a run-in. King-A run-in JR theyre going to do a run in" It was something to that effect (I have it written down verbatim somewhere But I don't know where at this time) of course when scott steiner ripped on wcw during a live nitro and said they sucked and were getting beat by the wwf . didn't he get in trouble for that?

    A few funny WCW pictures

omg, this makes me realize how much I miss WCW. A lot of it was crap, but it was crap you secretly enjoyed, but complained about online. and don't ever mock anything Jericho came out with in 98, as it was all pure gold. Do you remember when La Parka later got a dubbed voice and it would say stuff he wasn't saying and make fun of people, the look on his face was priceless(well what you couls see of his face) LA PARKA THE CHAIRMAN OF WCW

TSM CLASSIC MATCH OF THE DAY-3/25

Haven't seen the match in awhile so maybe I'll pop in my WM 5 tape now. As I remember the match was a pretty good intense brawl. I wasn't watching wrestling back in 89 but I can appreciate the angle somewhat. The subtle hints throughout 88 (like at survivor series when hogan won the match for him and savage and hugged elizabeth, savage kinda looked at him a little strange.) good angle, good enough match for hogan (his best at wm up to that point). Jesse on commentary does steal the show. I love how he went off because Savage, the champion, came out first. And I always thought it was funny when Jesse would say, he was coming out of retirement to take out hogan (though I can't remember if he said this at wm 5 or not) Anyways, I am not one to rate matches, because I don't really understand what the stars mean. It's hard for me to appreciate matches now, being a sort of smark as they say. basically wrestling has almost been ruined for me by the net. lol IWC

    John "Bradshaw" Rules...

yknow, we've never heard bradshaw cut a long promo like that beofre, it got a little boring, but he came off as intelligent and cocky. as for being a main eventer thats cuz sd doesnt have enough heels, so we get booker t (one of the most over faces on raw for about 2 years until they killed his push at wm 19 and kept putting him in the tag ranks and feuding with mark henry. and now bradshaw as a main event heel. now tell me again, why did they send triple h back to raw? (not that I am extremely mad about that, as he would have squashed eddie for the title sooner than later). Clearly even the wrestlers in real life, think of raw as the major league. what has become of sd?

    Mitch Hedburg.

I think he is hilarious. His comedy central presents is prob my fav of all of them. I quote him alot too. "On the back of the Ritz box, it has suggestions of what to do with the ritz, have a ritz with ham and cheese, ritz with peanut butter, oh come on man, I bought them cuz I like Crackers, not cuz they are little edibile plates" "Most rock bands have scary or dark names, like rigor mortis or mortuary or obituary, we weren't that hard so we called our selves-Injured. Later we changed it to "Acapella" (Pause) as we were walking out of the pawn shop" "I put a potato in the oven when I go on vacation" "I give you the money, you give me the donut, end of transaction, we do not need to bring ink and paper into this. I cannot envision the situation when I would have to prove I bought the donut, a skeptical friend? 'Oh come on man I know you didn't buy that donut' Oh yea ? I got the documentation right here" too many quotes from that ep alone to remember and the delivery is what makes it here comes that frog lol

    The South Park/Chapelle Show Thread

omg, was this the most offensive hour of tv we've seen in a while or what? SP had me in tears (from laughing) as timmy tried to explain what was happening to mackey (Timmah,jimmah,jimma,......timmah). beating up his girlfriend was over the top but freakin funny. Cool how they tackled two important issues (steriod abuse and making fun of the handicapped) in one show. SP is by far the best source of social commentary (outside of the simpsons). Chappels was ok, I missed the making the band skit so I cant comment, but the puppet kids show had me rolling on the floor. "You see kids, thats not a dagger, its called a syringe, and sometimes people like to use it to inject a drug called herion into their bloodstreams to get high" the puppets of many stds, had me howling. especially the crabs and "ole" lmao Man wednesday is really must see tv now. Anyways I'm out "I'm Rick James B@@@h" (when the blacks got their reperations) "Reporter: Tron, is that your baby? Tron: Nah,I just bought this baby, cash"
  15. Im surprised that Test wasn't the man to take steve austins spot in the main event of survivor series 99, they gave the title to big show? sure test as champ mighta tanked but hhh could still have married steph, beaten vince at armageddon, then beat test on a raw to set up rumble against cactus jack. Then again test was pretty over during the "relationship" with stephanie.

    The OaO Injured Yankees Thread

I was kinda going off-topic there I was just talking about the hatred I have seen in general. It's bizzare that everyone is getting hurt. Ah I guess I understand some of that sentiment, but to me it seems like it's mostly anti-Ny sentiment as opposed to baseball. Or maybe I'm just crazy. Go Yanks forever Win or Lose I bleed White and Blue

    The OaO Injured Yankees Thread

yknow, I'm sick of all the Yankee hatred. It is kinda poitnless, considering that when they won their 4 titles previous, the payroll was not as high as now and they didn't have that many stars (eg 98). they haven't won in 4 years and still we get complaints sheesh. I am not saying I believe that baseball players should be paid that much, I am just saying george is only doing what the current system allows. I am a little worried that this will become like the 80s where he spent money but had teams that sucked. I may have been spoiled, becoming a yanks fan in the early 90s in time to watch their rise from mediocrity (then again I am only 21) , but I love my team, no matter what crazy thing is happening. I am a New Yorker through and through, despite my current location in the beautiful looking, but filled with posers, airheads, and assorted other phonies (eg Laker "Fans"), area of Southern Cali. So please lay off us true Yanks fans for once in your lives. No one has a true reason to hate on us, unless of course you're from New England (or a Mets fan-scratch that even that is just jealousy lol@ my cuz in ny for that one, nah I can't insult my fellow ny'ers) Sorry for ranting. much love to my fellow "Yankee-holics"

TSM CLASSIC MATCH OF THE DAY THREAD 3/24

I loved this match live. and when vince came out I wasnt quite so sure who was turning though the austin thing was rumored for awhile but since it was texas i didn't think they would do it. i figured rock would turn heel but get beat by austin then take off to film the scorpion king then come back for a main event at summerslam vs austin. The intensity was awesome. my favorite part was when Austin catapulted Rock into the ringpost and rock's head went splat that was sick. sick for a different reason was rock dropping his blade after austin hit him with the ring bell. anyway, this was probably their best match ever on tv. funny how they portrayed austin as being desperate and siding with vince, since he had already beaten rock a lot of times in the past (in fact I don't remember rock beating austin untill survivor series 01 and not in a singles match till wm XIX) But he was coming off the neck thing and he had lost to HHH a month before at NWO (btw another classic match, I had it as moty ahead of rock/austin, that should be a future thread) so he was unsure if he still had it in him to win the wwf title (which was his life,he said that in the sitdown interview with rock and JR). Wow, makes me want to go and pop in my tape of wmx-7 to watch, man I got to get the dvd, anyone know where I can find it?

    This week's caption-mania

QUOTE (CM Funk @ Mar 22 2004, 05:33 PM) Orton (thinking): "Man, I hope nobody's writing a insensitive photo caption about me right now." cool, is that a simpsons refrence or not? (during the episode when bart makes a comic based on homer called angry dad, homer is mad at a lawn chair so he sets it on fire , but gets caught in it bart draws it) Homer" Ohh I hope no one's drawing this

    HHH the Vampire

Wheres the bumps on his head? the Buffy fans will be swarming in here any second to protest. anyways, I don't see why they didn't hire david heath (gangrel aka the vampire warrior) for the role. He coulda brought along Luna as some kind of monster. Director: Ok Mr. Levesque this is when you die Trips: I will not job to wesley snipes, I am the game-uh and I am that damn good-uh this movie will feature 90 mins of me beating every vampire and demon you can throw at me and they will all die from the pedigree Director: Well sir, your just----hey aren't you vince mcmahon Vince: That's Mister Mcmahon to you and Hunter must kill blade cuz I am the boss Director: Sir this isn't wwe Vince: Who said it was I just bought this Movie. Trips and Steph:hahhahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahah HHH then hits the director with a sledgehammer "I am the game-uhhh, I am that damn good-uhhh and for the next twenty minutes-uhh, I'm going to be talking-uhhh and saying absolutely nothing-uhh" -The Rock

The TSM Classic Match of The Day Thread

almost forgot, Heenan's commentary is gold during this match. Making fun of piper, bret, monsoon and the fans. Heenan: I heard a rumor that when Piper was a kid, his parents ran away from him Monsoon: Would you stop? Heenan: Piper would come home from school and find out that his parents had moved (bret had bealed perfect by his hair and monsson defended it cuz Perfect did the same earlier) Heenan: You can't pull Bret Hart's hair Piper: Why? Heenan: Cuz you'd get too many oil slicks on your hands (Shot of Stu and Helen Hart looking concerned) Heenan: You know why they're concerned, they snuck in, they're scared the usher will come (Bret punches The Coach off the apron) Heenan: He hit The Coach, a man wearing glasses

The TSM Classic Match of The Day Thread

I have this match on a cheap "best of summerslam" video I got at kmart in 1994. Those who are jumping up wanting thi stape, don't this best of also features Undertaker vs Kamala from 92, Razor Ramon vs Ted Dibiase from 93 and Lex Luger vs Yokozuna from 93. and the bret-perfect match is clipped a bit. I rented summerslam 91 2 years ago to see the whole match and it's really good. I enjoyed it live in 91 (and it made me a big bret fan) and it's still good now. the reversal by bret into the sharpshooter was cool. Especially as the crowd popped as he countered. The sharpshooter had just been introduced but the smart msg crowd was right on top of everything. That was the biggest pop of that night, besides LOD's for winning the tag belts and Virgil for upsetting Dibiase for the million $ belt.
  24. I personally think Undertakers phantom of the opera mask from late 95 early 96 after Mabel broke his face bone was the best. Although I give props to Nowinski for actually putting the Harvard H on the mask. BTW do you remember Scott Steiner's faceguard from 2000?

    24 hour hardcore title

I remember the sleeping crash. Lawler also said its a good thing he doesnt have any music, it would wake up crash, then brisco (or was it the ref?)walked into a trashcan or somethin and made a big noise and crash woke up and chased him. I also liked the time the headbangers chased crash in a funhouse type thing, crash went down a ladder to did a hurricanranna off some monkey bars. also the mean street posse showed up at crashs' hotel room and tried to sneak in as room service. one time crash was at the circus and some clowns tried to beat him. at backlash 00 i think crash was giving an interview backstage when a vendor started to sneak up on him and crash turned around and beat the living heck out of him. Man that was some fun times. I miss Crash.
