WWE General Discussion for August 2007
Jericholic82 replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
It has to be said-what the hell did wwe do to Candice Michelles theme music? A freakin' techno remix? Horrible, the old one was fine as it was the right pace for her strut to the ring, now she has to move faster and dance a bit (like when they made Victoria Dancin Victoria in mid 2004) . Unless she likes that music? anyhow interesting notes, Dlo would make a fine addition to Smackdowns mid-card ranks I think. Too bad Henry is leaving as now they could reform their past alliance. (then again, no thank god Henry is leaving). But he got a nice reaction at msg (though that could just be nostaligia pops), and looked in great shape. the game thing is interesting. I'd say leave him in, just so as not to make the game even more outdated when it comes out. I wonder if they will bother to change Nitro to Morrison, but that might take too much. speaking of which, anyone find it weird that John is working a Jim Morrsion type gimmick, but comes out to a soundalike Jimi Hendrix song? I would think they could get that Morrison soundalike dude who sang "The End" (Armageddon theme song) to do a faux-Doors song. Then again remember Dude Love, who dressed like a hippee, came out to a faux Bee Gees Disco song -
I often think while watching old hogan matches, why doesn't the heel run away, or gets himself dqed or counted out when he hulks up and why is it that faces will stay in the ring when the monsetr heel comes out (like Khali randomly squashing wrestlers), but heels will run for cover, I mean by the time Khali gets out there you could be up in the crowd by the exits

You know I have never had any one ask me any questions or make comments while wearing a wrestling shirt (other than cool shirt comments), save for the time in high school when a dude kinda made fun of the fact that I only wore wrestling shirts to school (which was pretty true back in about 99, as I bought a lot of cheap kmart style wrestling shirts to wear cuz wrestling was popular at the time and it was cool to wear them,)

They cut out the best part of the Mcmahaon segment (Balls, but you had to know nbc wouldnt want that, they would have to do alot of editing-or they wanted to cut the segment short to keep on par with allotted time) then again SNL had the whole Alec Baldwin "Shweaty Balls" segment on once so what the hell? I guess they wanted a match to end the show not a promo so thats why they aired vince in the middle as opposed to the order in which it was taped A few fans actually did yell lets get ready to suck it!, live That rating is pretty impressive for a late night show, TNA can't even come close and they air in prime time too bad they didnt show Austin forcing Coach and Vince to sing (they sang I left my heart in san francisco pitifully after they cut off on the air, and then Austin stunned them again)

WWE General Discussion for August 2007
Jericholic82 replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
I knew it! I could swear that looked like Hamrick Gerwitz is indeed as Foley states in his Hardcore Diaries "A Classic Nerd" and I love Regals bizzare pronounciations of names. Santino's is rapidly becoming my favorite gimmick, he is an awesome dick heel (but as RD Reynolds says on WrestleCrao Radio, he needs to have that "Mama Mia, That's A Spicy Meatball" lyrics ot star his theme (and yes folks, I'm Italian and that doesn't insult me, mostly cuz Santino is just playing an over the top Italian cariciture and it's funny) -
yea youre right. Anyhow before I cnaged it I forgot I had saved the setting apparntlyt on easy mode (realized halfway in but didnt want to lose my madden challange points so I continued ) and wound up with a game in which I scored 136 points! (eli had 14 td passes and 929 passing yards ) I did this by running the same pass play over and over (maytbe a bug here?)

Marc Mero, add another one to your list
Jericholic82 replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in General Wrestling
Sad news, though I only know of him from old clips and magazines. I saw his book at Borders last year but didnt buy it, looked interesting. RIP -
I wish I had bought the cena shirt to wear to RAW simply cuz of all the hate for him. anyhow I'm not embarrased to wear a wrestling shirt since I'm a fan. But I was just answering the topic question best I could

the thousand times Buff Bagwell fegined turining face in 98 and Rick Steiner falling for it time after time. then again its rick steiner we are talking about watching summerslam 94 the other day on 24/7 I thought, why did Shawn throw a tantrum aftre accidentily kicking Diesel, he should have just pulled attacked Razor some more as the ref was distracted by Payton on the apron, or he could have attacked razor in front of the ref to get the dq and save the title. that bothers me too, why doesn't a face ever purposely get dqed to save a title, I mean in obvious situations like when he is outnumbered by the heels friends at ringside

well Considering I have worn horrid shirts to school back in the day I guess I don't apply, but the new Kennedy shirt I got (the one he is currently wearing on tv) is cool cuz it just has that KK logo with Microphone on the front. No name or wwe logo on the back. so I guess that would fit the acceptable bin. Now I'd rather not wear shirts with pics of wrestlers on them especially those in their underwear basically (and I have worn plenty of those type in my day, I still have a bunch of them laying in the back of my closet actually) I wore a undertaker shirt to raw last week I got at walmart, which has pics of him and the cool logo, okay to wear to a wrestling event, not so cool in public I suppose. (actually I saw at least two fans on raw last night wearing the same one, plus a cena one I saw in the store as wel but didnt buy)

I think what should happen is , the reveal comes (assuming it is Kennedy, but it doesnt matter which perosn, but it must be a heel I guess) Vince is happy since its a heel naturally. Vince tries to embrace his son who is okay at first. Shane returns to challenge his "brother" His brother defeats Shane with Vince's help. It goes on for a while with the new son being Vince's favorite and going after Cena (assuming he retains as SLam) the match comes (maybe survivor series, but I'd prefer The Rumble)If it is Kennedy, I'd have him win the title (during the buildup though, Vince makes a snide comment about paying back child support to the kids mother, calling her a slut or whatever). At the Rumble, the son defeats Cena, cleanly despite Vince screwing up trying to interfere and nearly costing his son. Vince comes in to celebrate getting on the mic and proclaiming his son to be the new wwe champion. Son goes to talk, and BLASTS Vince for all the bad talk about his mother, when Vince tries to hug him, son clotheslines Vince out of his shoes, BINGO big face turn, and now you can either have Vince side with the next big heel or maybe HHH if he gets involved, to set up Mania, with his son vs his handpicked champion. this would work well with Kennedy as the fans are dying to cheer for him. but maybe Im trying to use logic here

Don't worry dude, it's not gone. I bought the set today after work (I already have the 06 dvd but not 04 and 05, and its only 15.99 so its like getting the other two for 8 bucks each I guess) The cover art and back has been chnaged but when you open it, the insert is the old one with benoits pic on it, plus the disc is the original disc from 2004 (as it says so on the sisc , plus is has all the original extras-like all the summerslam olympic parody commericals-WHICH ARE GOLD, ESPECIALLY BATISTAS BREAKDANCING! , plus the Rush "Summertime Blues" song intact, plus the Benoit/Orton Main Event). seems to me that dont want to show him on the cover, cuz stores may be hesitant to so that (even though my store still has all dvds with him in it, and you know some stores have to still have his "Hard Knocks" dvd set) plus I picked up GAB 07, the regular ones extras are the Lashley/Cena contract signing from RAW 7/2/07, plus Edge's Mardi Gras celebration where he got hurt (odd choice but I guess they want to show how he got hurt? unless the dvd extras was set in stone beforehand?)

the AI is defintely messed up, I starte dplaying at Pro difficulty, and it was way too hard for that setting, but if you switch to easy, then it gets way too easy and I scored like 76, then 56 points with 5 ints in each game. plus on ps2. there is tons of slowdown in the game. hell the arena football video game is better than this crap. im going back to 2k5

WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - August 2007
Jericholic82 replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in WWE Multimedia
lol yea rippping up the hogan poster, and then tossing out all the figures in the toy ring cuz theyre not of him. He was borderlining on woman-beater too here with his treatment of Liz. -
Didnt he do his entrance?, I remember his music coming on and his pyro before holyfield coming out, it was hard to see up in the 400 section though anyhow cool to see a TSM friend went as well, too bad we didnt run into each other, then again we probably did its so crowded in times square

Melina was born in 1979. WM 2 was in 1986. Attention to details~! yea plus Vince was at the NY poirtion of WM 2, that pissed me off so much at the taping, I yelled out in anger.

OaO Monday Night Raw Thread - 08/13/07
Jericholic82 replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
he didnt at RAW, they had some generic rock song so no one knew who it was untill he was introd and came out, but after the match they played it (honestly I liked his older song "You betta recognize" better") I did start a small "chest protector" chant. -
That would depend on the region number, plus th euk dvds are in PAL mode, but some dvd players can switch to PAL, I have one. anyhow, at work today I learned that Circuit City this tuesday is not only releasing GAB 07, but a SummerSlam 3 pack, featuring the 04,05, and 06 dvds on sale for 15.99 this week (reg price will be 19.99) the funny part? the 2004 one has been repackaged with a new cover, anyone take a guess why? If you said Benoit, you are right. They redid the front cover and now show only the Taker vs JBL match picture whereas the original had the orton/benoit match as well. plus the back lists all the matches, EXCEPT FOR THE MAIN EVENT, I'm assuming the match is still on there, but they dont want to advertise You Know Who. anyhow still a cool deal, I already have the 06 dvd, but not the 04 and 05 so it would be like paying 8 bucks each for those not bad.

Major restaurants and stores not in your area?
Jericholic82 replied to Vern Gagne's topic in Food Folder
I went to Dunkin DOnuts the other night, and they were OUT OF DONUTS! wow. Then again I did see a police car outside. They have Jack in The Box ads on tv but none in my area (then again I only went there maybe 4 time in my entire 12 years of living in SOCAL). I do kind of miss Inn-N-Out Burger I guess -
I actually obught it for ps2, my first nfl game buy since NFL 2k5 (still the best game ever). it looks like they dont event try with the ps2 anymore as the graphics seem to be worse than the last madden I played (it was 03). but I played an exhbition game was able to learn most of the controls, so it seem slike I will enjoy it. the weird thing is I opened the store and there wasnt even a big rush or anything. sure alot of people bought madden but not all at once or anything, weird. CC is letting us wear football jerseys all week to promote madden but I dont currently have one and I m not going to buy one just for this. I did see the line in times square after leaving raw monday night and it was packed

I saw season 3 sitting on the shelves while at work yesterday. I guess they have lagged in dvd proudction as it first came out on dvd like 3 or 4 years ago.
-
yea I get that feeling too. Altough if you look at it another way, They probably have the biggest fan following throughout the country along with the red sox and cubs ( what I mean is they have fans everywhere it seems, that idea I have got from talking online with other fans) bU tI digress since I dont want to start a war here. It may have worked better as a yes channel series. But it still is a memorable year in US history and the main thng that happend that year outside of Elvis dying was the sonfof sam situation, and they trying to show what was going on in NYC at the time, and since its a sports channel, the sports story in NY at the time was the Bronx Zoo anyhow from what I have seen, its very interesting. I wasnt around at the time so I cant say how accurate it is, though I get the feeling that not everyone in NY was that worried about the killings. Even here in Yonkers, where the killer as it turns out lived. but maybe people watch hoping the change the ending and they lose the 77 WS

I don't think they planned to turn Bret until well into the Austin feud. He was supposed to return as the triumphant babyface and win the title shortly into his run. However, McMahon quickly realized that the company had changed and so had the crowds. The white bread babyface didn't really work anymore and the decision was made to do the double turn with Austin. It was already said earlier, but I don't think that there was any plan going forward. It seemed like they were going to do a DX reunion but it was probably just an angle to kick off Smackdown. As for a potential program between the two? Highly unlikely. Michaels had no plans to return at this time and we all know the Rock's feeling on working with HBK. Never would have happened. It looked like they were reforming a dx type stable with shane mcmahon and chyna since they celebrated together fater the match, then Shawn wasnt seen again untill he was announced as the special ref for the iron man match talk about shades of grey, during his retirement, Shawn came back as a face, turned heel as the commisoner, turned back face by superkicking Vince about a month after his heel turn, turned heel apparantly by kicking rock, came back as an apprant face for the iron man, returned as a heel with the nWo in 2002, then turned face after the angle was dropped and the fued with hhh began then when he came back to the ring he turned heel for a month to face hogan, before reverting back to face

oh crap no its not, it s a legends roundtable discussion, sorry about that

I just find it odd that Layla hated him on Smackdown (remember no mercy and his Birthday surprise?) now suddenly is in love with him? anyhow he seems competant in the ring and is a natural heel, so I dont mind him too much. He has been improving of late and has a decent finisher (although they seemd to have dropped the "Mizard of OZ" and now he hits a regualr neckbreaker) I did love that JBL abosolutely hated him on SD and talked abou thim having a "Red Rooster Starter Kit" cuz of his hairstyle
