Shows That Shouldn't Have Been Cancelled
Jericholic82 replied to In Credible's topic in Television & Film
yes but of course fox shit on its first true hit. the last episode was ok but if they had time to do a real finale it would have been awesome, especially if they got the creators to write it like they talked about on the E THS of the show -
I got all new stuff last night. Anarchy Rulz 99, Boston house show (rumble 07 and jd 03 are still on there I guess cuz its not june yet) new legends gorilla, new tv shows for MNW, CWF, NWA, TNT, and still the same ecw show as last week. new shorties rock/mankind, magnum/tully, lawler vs funk empty arena match (cool), Pitbull 1 vs shane douglas, flair/foley legends roundatble is still up as well

Hey anyone remember Randys multiple concussion storyline they did in early 05 after the Rumble match with HHH? ok I doubt many do. However RVD did a great "confuse and out of look" on his face yet again At lkeats it looked somewhat real. anyhow the highlight of this week was the fan who had the sign that said "Another Headlock Randy?" and held it up every time Orton put on a headlock.

so they had to edit a trump/boogeyman segment? for what purpose? anyhow after watching the whole dvd set, it was well done. wm itself was kinda lackluster to me. I mean nothing was horrible (well maybe except the womens match where ashley blew like 5 moves in a 3 min match) but it just didnt feel like mania (but maybe If I had seen it live Id feel different) taker/batista was a good power match. shawn/cena was better IMO than their longer RAW match, because it had less slow spots and rest holds. Shawn busted his ass trying to make Cena look like a star. The finish was pretty good though, with Shawn having to tap out cuz of his position and I liked him not being all good babyface and refusing to shake hands afterwards. I got the Backlash dvd yesterday. 2 lame extras sucks, they could have at least put a match on there (the hbk/cena rematch would hav ebeen ideal but it probably was too long to put on a single disc with the ppv and still have good video quality) The dvd does infact edit out the Backlash theme song (which was "There and Back Again" by Daughtry) and replaced it with the song they use on 24/7 for the old ECW opening and Pitbulls music. seems like a quick job there

bad thing at work, we were supposed to give out a halo 3 wall graphic when you preordered it this week, but we didnt get any in. oddly enough I had no customers come to me while I was at register, but I imagine one or two Halo fans came in and got pissed

Lawler, Foley, Hennig draw crowd of 42
Jericholic82 replied to Hasbeen1's topic in General Wrestling
yep, I think so -
very good episode last week, showing the show has come full circle, as it started with Tony having to deal with his depression and now AJ going thru the same thing. Tony beating the crap out of Phils guy was hilarious, if not way brutal (and the tooth still being on his pants later was nice), but it appears as if phils guys are setting Tony up. the war is finally here!!! too bad its preempted for the holdiay this week

Thanks for posting this. I remember seeing this on Nitro back when I was in 6th grade and just dying laughing. That feud with Malenko is what I still remember Jericho the most for outside of his debut on RAW. I was a Senior in HS, and the kids I sat with at lunch hated Jericho.Hell, he didn't get love from any of the wrestling fans in school. I remember thinking, these guys have no idea how briliant this guy is. How much better his character is than anyone in the WCW, and probably all of North American wrestling. Jericho was also the guy I wanted to see at when Nitro was in town. Things didn't work so I didn't get to go. I was a sop at the time of this actually, but I was a big Jericho fan since he had come to WCW so I stayed a fan despite the heel turn. I actually made a "conspiracy victim" sign when he staretd doing that, and carried it around in the classroom on the day of a test (I still have the sign somewhere) I remember some dude actually had a monday jericho tshirt and I was jealous (hell he even had it on in the yearbook picture)

I agree SB 2 was an awesome show IIRC I recorded both judgment day and vengeance yesterday without watching them (i was watching the wm 23 dvd instead) new prime time on though gottta watch that and the monday night war before it expires this week.
-
That sucks in the ppv dept since I already have anarchy rulz on tape and dvd from the pioneer days. and I recently bought the surseries 02 dvd (and have yet to watch it for some reason)
-
This is the front cover of his upcoming autobiography. Judging from the haircut, it looks recent, and yeah, he looks a lot thinner: WHY CHRIS WHY? Dammnit HHH won out hes cut the hair fully now. anyhow cant wait for his return, if only cuz it makes my screename here relevent again

I got the tin one at C.C. since i opened on Tuesday Morning. They have it for 24.99 for the first week (reg price here is 30 for the tin, 24.99 for the bare bones one, on sale for 17.99 the first week). That tin does look damn cool I must admit (though I grabbed one that had a small dent near the top right and onbe on the bottom left corner, plus the cardboard dvd box inside was "rippled" on the edges, which I fixed by marking iut with a maraker). Actually we got ALOT of both versions in and its not selling all that well. Mostly the tin one has sold obviously. The CC exclusive (for both versions) is a WM 3 Collectible Film Cell Card thingy (like the ones in the Royal Rumble box set) featuring Roddy Piper whippeing Adrian Adonis with his belt) pretty cool The HOF was way cool, with Dusty stealing the show (though the Samoans speech and RVD talking about the shiek was pretty good too) I watched the first two matches this morning The ladder match was very brutal with SICK spots like Jeff Hady bending Edge in half thru the ladder, and the RKO to CM punk off the ladder, and Hornswoggle taking a great bump off the ladder. The Kane-Kahli mtach was short and sweet and not too bad considering it was a Kahli match. Backlash is on sale this week for 14.99 at CC (its in the ad) reg price 17.99, not that great for me since with my discount I usually get the reg ppvs for $15 each

This "Jobber" is the former Amish Roadkill (of ECW fame), under a new gimmick of course. He's currently in OVW under the name Antoni Polaski, after a brief run as Tony Braddock. He might have the droopiest man-boobs one has ever seen though... I thought that looked like him but I wasnt sure, wierd to see him in tights and sans beard. yea the Polaski name is what he used here. sorry about the confusion but as I said, I had a hard time seeing due to all the kids in the way.

cool moment ruined by spoilers for me. anyhow it was actually set up on Sunday Night Heat the night before when The Acolytes were beat up by Kane (i think) and one of them was tombstoned I think on the ring steps, so they came into the Hardys match banged up and the youngsters took advantage when they lost the handicap match and the belts at Fully Loaded, they dumped Hayes for losing the match and joined the New Brood with Gangrel (Ironic considering it was Hayes feud with the original brood that made him bring in the Hardys) Yeah, they actually taped the Sunday Night Heat with that segment at the same show. Funny to see one of the Acolytes out cold on the steel steps and a few minutes later in the back talking about how sore his neck is. Right, remember when SNH was taped like 2 week sahead of time due to the fact that RAW aired live one week, then was taped the next day for the next monday

The cool bits in movies and tv shows in youtube
Jericholic82 replied to Vanhalen's topic in Television & Film
you're surprised? this is a wrestling message board first and foremost yea I suck. anyhow cool to see these clips, the November 2 remmeber clips were cool. thanx since that 95 one is coming up in the 24/7 run which theyll have to overdub with generic music -
yea that sucked. It was cool to see the matchup though, considering when Lashley came on the scene all I could think was that he was a Monty Brown Ripoff with bigger muscles at least theyre calling it the pounce now, the "misdirection body block" was rather lengthy and pretentious.

I am closing at CC monday and opening Tuesday so I can get me hands on the mania dvd. I post on here Monday night if I get a good look at the boxes. (too bad im about to start a strecth run Friday where I work for at least 6 straight days (maybe more considering it is a holiday weekend next week)

Yea I'd say so. Well they did get in one last bury job, having Snitsky lay him out. but RVD did get the win. What a difference a year makes, last year at this time they were pushing him to the top, now he quietly leaves the company. He never recovered from the "drug bust of doom", but damned if he isnt still over despite what WWE has tried to do to him. hell he never really recovered from the burial by HHH or even late 2001 during the invasion when the fans were basically asking for him to win the WWF title and feud with Austin funny how I just saw him at a househow just this past sunday night, getting beat by Corvon

I always call NES "original nintendo" and SNES "Super Nintendo"
-
I've actually asked my manager why we don't do this. There are two reasons for it: 1) Our Nintendo rep doesn't want us to do that, as he controls our Nintendo display and thinks that it reflects badly on his company if we put those signs up. 2) The average customer just ignores the various signs that we do put up and asks us for the same information that the sign says anyway. For example, we have several big signs that say that the PS3 goes for $659.99; we still end up with hundreds of people who walk right past the signs and ask us how much we're selling the PS3 for. Working in a building where the general public ignores signs all the time, I totally understand that logic. The Nintendo rep thing is weird but I guess it's a half empty / half full thing - while some might think it's a great sign the systems are prepetually not available, I can see others getting uppity. Thanks for clearing it up. yea I totally feel your pain. But with the wiis you gotta think, its mostly parents coming in to ask for it at my Circuit City. so they have no ide about the shortages. The problem is they dont tell us about the wii coming in till the day before. But it will usually be in the weekly ad if we're gonna have it, and we always sell it on sunday (save for one week when we suddenly had 10 in and got an email telling us such, after we had already told people we dont have it) the ps3 is another story we have so many of them its crazy

Shows Worthy of Cancellation
Jericholic82 replied to milliondollarchamp's topic in Television & Film
Funny you should mention that: the "Caveman" is the stupid sitcom based on Geico's Cavemen commercials (Im guessing)...glad to see somebody was paying attention to Baby Bob. It'll be cancelled in its own right hopefully about 2 or 3 episodes in. ah crap. I didnt even get to see much of this year cuz it was on against Idol. Damn ABC. weird cuz it just came out on dvd for the 1st time. Ill miss it. -

Shows That Shouldn't Have Been Cancelled
Jericholic82 replied to In Credible's topic in Television & Film
I think he mentioned angel cuz the ending storyline was kinda rushed, if they like a couple more episdoes left in the season it would have worked out better but you cant complain with that finale. I think the fans were pissed so much cuz they didnt want it to end, not because it was canceled too soon The networks always mange to cancel every show that I like so theres too many to name here, although I will agree with Lucky Louie
